As a Czech I was excited to see Jiri at his UFC debut. And getting this KO in first fight I was shocked - in a good way. He said he made lots of mistakes especially in first round, but looking forward to his way in UFC

I think that left inside lowkick actually made Volkan lower his hands before that big headkick lands.
Today here in Czech, we talked with Jiri Procházka about the reason, why he touched his hand, and he answered that there is no special reason, why he did that. His style is full of different movements. That is just his style.

@@genghisjr.8145 It is his style and he really does this instinctively with no premeditated intent. But he did also admit that since he already does this, he can also use this movement and other habits and movements as a way to distract his opponent, rather than unlearn it. He uses all kinds of either intentional or unintentional movements to his favor. Having hands down is helping him to watch and focus on his opponent better and also to hide his strikes. He's got bombs in his arms so he can punch hard enough from any position, so this hands down stance does not really affect his punching power too much.

Volkan has never been knocked out cold before, and Volkan basically beat Dominick Reyes who is the number 1 contender. Jiri definitely needs a top 5 opponent.
Volkan has won(should have lost) his previous fight against Rakić the same way as Reyes has won(should have lost) the fight against Volkan

Artyom Volchenkov I mean he just knocked out the #7 ranked Light Heavyweight so I think it’s a little too late for that. He’ll probably end up stunting this growth and skills by jumping in the deep end so quickly but who knows, I could be wrong

Jiri is just a machine in my opinion. I feel like he'll get humbled ONCE and then continue to develop as a star.

Walker needs to slowly progress. He's got talent but has to improve gradually. Making this fight wouldn't be a risk worth taking for him long term

Exactly mate totally agree,I could see that knockout coming,as volkan just didn’t have a clue what the guy was doing,he’s style was so unorthodox plus on top him clowning and pretending not looking at he’s opponent it was working,yes volkan hits hard caught him with few good shots but can’t dodge them all,I find way to many fighters that are so predictable what there going to do and they use the same stances,good to get guy mix it up for once,

@@Nawazaahr But Jiri is not freestyler... its his personal style he mimic fighting of samurais and he says that he cant get Knockedout by punch which he see .. it will sound crazy but he loves samurai ideology and philosophy and thats what learnt him to put his hands down he see every punch if he cant dodge it he can put on face of mountain ....

About those gloves adjustments. His coach said in an interview, that Jiri felt like his gloves are slipping down, therefore he was just tryna put them back in their place. Nothing crazy really. :D

During the fight party this man was the main topic of conversation
you have to understand that in 1st round Jiri was just reading his opponent and measuring distance while confusing him. He fight with low arms because its much harder to read him. Once he expose opponent's weak spot he k.o them with few fast strikes. He is very phylozofical, spiritual, rational thinking fighter. He meditates alot and its not just about his body...
Yeah I like Jiri. He's a bit weird but in a good way, he's still respectful though it seems, as a martial artist at least.
He's not deluded by what happens in the fight too. He see's it how it is. I am looking forward to seeing him improve.

Basic thing: George has very long arms. When the hands are down, the opponent does not see them so well. He sees a exposed face, so he tries to hit him. And that's important. When the opponent attacks, he does not defend himself and the long hands are in the opponent's face very soon. Then wait for the best hit. Boom KO .... It comes when Jiri gets a few shots. I do not understand, why everybody calls Jiří´s style crazy, i was think, that in combat is at first place defeat oponent. But, if you have nice, ordered and predictible style, how is your chance defeat oponent? I think, that his style for fight, is absolutely right, maybie first true fighter in MMA. 👍

It wasn’t really the glove power up that set up the head kick. He switched stance, threw an inside leg kick and then went high with the head kick. Nice stuff.
