- Hello hello! Today I wanted to share my spring knitting plans and goals with you. This video includes a list of patterns I hope to knit up this spring season, some yarn contemplations, and various other musings as they arise (and a traumatic run-in with a yarn bug). We also discuss my minor rebrand. I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to start knitting for spring!

i work at la mercerie! and because of our move we actually carry every color and every base that knitting for olive offers!! I think my boss said we're the only shop in the states that does which is super neat :,) I'm actually about to cast on a summer top in the pure silk as well, its so lovely
Omg hey!!!! I sent in my resume to the shop like a month ago and no one has gotten back to me, if you’re down to pass along the message that I would in fact love to work there that would be so cool lol. I came and saw the new place solo last weekend!!! The expanded KFO range is amazing, it’s so cool that you guys are the only place in the states that carries the whole line!!! What top are you casting on in the pure silk??!?!? I will be back to the shop soon so hopefully I will see you there next time!!!

Omg this is so sweet thank you! I always feel like people don’t want to listen to me yap for too long so I try to keep the videos short but this is very encouraging so perhaps some longer form videos could be tested in the future 🧐 what yarn are you using for your blouse no 1?!

i'm actually lowkey embarrassed to say this but i'm literally using a cherry red acrylic yarn (pound of love from lion brand) since i'm broke af and it's actually turning out really nice hahaah 😆

I debated naming the shop but decided against it because it’s in such a small town and the odds that anyone who is from there would see this are very slim. Also I am very non confrontational about stuff like this lol. Definitely a bummer that this is a semi-common experience to have in the knitting community!! Thank you for being here!!!! Bisous!!

Maddie , I am thinking about knitting a sweater or two. I always have trouble with picking a yarn.
I also have two different sock sets on the go and I want to knit more.
Knitting does cost a bit. I would really like to knit with the nicer yarns.
I’ve only been knitting a year now.
I mostly have acrylic yarns and I do have sock yarns and I bought a yarn set of 5 skeins of DK yarn for the stripes sweater . I fell in love with the blue gradient yarn. I have a belly lol and thought the stripes wouldn’t be a good idea.
I crochet as well.
Okay first of all, stripes are for everyone!! If you want to knit a stripped sweater you should and I’m sure you would look great in it!!!! I love knitting for olive for nice basic yarns. You might want to check out their bulky merino, it’s one of my favorites currently and is reasonably priced! If you’re based in the US, the yarn shop La Mercerie ships knitting for Olive domestically so you don’t have to pay crazy shipping to get it from Denmark. Also check out Drops yarn! Lower quality fibers but super affordable. I paid shipping from Denmark on some Drops yarn and it was still cheaper than most comparable yarns I could find in America. I used Drops Air for a Cardigan No.8 and I think it’s a great dupe for Wool and the Gangs Feelin Good yarn!

@@thatswhatskeinsaid I'll use Drops Melody in color vanilla (14), just like Kutovakika ! I'm just considering adding a strand of Drops brushed alpaca silk or kid-silk, as she used that combo for one of her newest cardigan (Daydreamer Cardigan) and said it added more stitch definition.

Thanks for being here!!! I feel you on the trying to destash bulky yarn- it’s a struggle. I’ve loved making baskets out of some of my super chunky wool! Just Google crochet basket pattern, I used just a free pattern from a random website lol

Okay but I also had a similar experience in a yarn store in rural Washington!! The two workers just glared at me the whole time. So strange. My only explanation is that in small town shops they’re really skeptical of outsiders.

Fish girl spring is so reel 🎣 you do not need to justify making those pouches! I love them and I am so excited for you to have little not-foods with you everywhere you go. Also? Those frilly socks are literally exactly what I’ve been looking for to wear for graduation and I can’t find any on Etsy that meet my requirements. Do I just need to make some?? Do I just need to literally learn how to knit so I can have graduation socks?? I’m thinking I do.

I am really liking your videos and the set up. I really enjoy seeing what other people are knitting and the yarn the are using. When talking about each project is it possible to leave the picture up a little longer? If not no biggie I am just having to pause it to look but love all your spring knit ideas the som cardigan looks gorgeous.

I am a slow knitter mainly because I have a one year old and he takes all of my attention. So I appreciate others and gives me ideas. Right now I am working on the flax sweater and I am hoping to start the sleeves soon lol whenever that might be ☺️ but the som cardigan is going into my pile on want to start next

I think it could be super fun in that aforementioned bright pink… time will tell on that one. And thank you! That piece was apart of my senior capstone for my English degree so it will always have a very special place in my heart!
