great to see you back - yes love to see more
Thanks mate, it's been a busy couple of months but hopefully get back to making some vids
Love this review, I just bought this bike used and I'm eager to get it and ride it!
Thumbs UP ! They are making nice looking frams Trek is a winner in my book I'm jealous.
just looking at the drop hurts my back 😁 cool looking bike 👌
Nice review! Good to see some unfiltered opinions. Most channels seem to be reading from the brochure!
Thanks mate, I've had the bike for a few months now and am really liking it. Maybe time for a follow-up on my experiences with it.
@@melbournecyclingsegments7510 Yeah for sure! I'm in the market at the moment for something similar and things seem to be getting more and more $$$.
Love the t-shirt mate. I want one.
Haha, thanks. First time I read what was on it was when I watched the video 😅
Me, too. Haha!
When is the 2021 model releasing...I’m debating on pulling the trigger on the 2020
Great bike, awesome t shirt
I just purchased this bike and I would like to add a carbon seat post and carbon stem, would you have any idea which size stem and seat post I would need please? Sorry I nothing about these things but any help or useful links would be great. Thanks
Hermosa bici.
Enjoy your reviews, im on the fence regarding buying 2019 model, only thing holding me back is the BB90, how are you getting with yours? Keep upt the good work!
I haven't had any BB issues so far, no creaks. I've probably got about 2000km on it
Hi! Would you rather pay for the entry carbon frame or their top aluminium frame? Considering extra 350 usd por the carbon one? I don’t know if i should get the emonda ALR 5 or the SL 5 with extra 350 usd. Thaks for your video! Also, between the ALR 5 and the Merida scultura 400 for the same price as de ALR which one would you get?
For aluminium, at the same price I'd get the Trek instead of the Merida. For emonda alr vs carbon for 350 usd is a tough choice as they are both great bikes. Get whichever you prefer if you can afford either. If the budget is tight, the alr is an awesome bike don't worry. I have found the carbon sl5 to be a great bike and I got a good deal on it.
I got an sl6 love it
I think the framset is better than all the components on the bike, definitely better than 105 anyway and definitely ultegra worthy
5:32 Brakes on the bianchi probably made out of cardboard.... how does he keep a straight face with this!?? 😂😂. Top vid and review again mate! 👍🏼
Cardboard is even softer when it gets wet, then I close my eyes and pray that I stop. Works well and prayers are lightweight
@@melbournecyclingsegments7510 😂😂😂🤞🏼
Nice bike!!! I am now considering buying an Emonda. I wanted a Domane but can't believe how much they weigh. Currently ride Scott Speedster S20 AL 2012 all 105. Started riding 3 years ago now riding around 200 km per week (50-80 km rides). What are you thoughts? Recommendations? Cheers in advance.
Check out my endurance bike comparison for domane etc.. Im hearing you regarding the weight of some endurance bikes. Perhaps consider the canyon endurace as a simpler lighter endurance bike. Otherwise some of the current lightweight Climbing bikes are not as aggressive as they used to be. Eg compare geometry of current and previous supersix. The emonda is a bit like that, slightly more stack than my tcr
What's your view on bb90. I want to buy Emonda sl6 but I came to know bb 90 are not good, they make sound and lots of thing. I want to keep my next bike for a long period so what I should buy TREK emonda alr or carbon?? As I don't want stop riding my bike at any point of time bcz of bottom bracket or bb90 somehow damaged my bike frame as some bearing changes down the road can loosen the bb. Plzz advise
I haven't done many kms on my Emonda yet but so far no creaks. Yes some mixed opinions out there on bb90... Can't be as bad as BB30 though 😂😂
How did you order a rim brake version? I can only find disc brakes
Old shop stock at a bargain price. Just got to keep hunting 😉
Thank you
WOW VERY NICE BIKE its funny how that bike today weighs the same as my old 5200 with Ultgra and ROLF wheels but l m sure yours rides much better especially with new 105 :)
That bike is already pretty old. A new one today would probably weigh even more
What wheel set would you recommend for all round to put on my emonda sl6
If you want good quality Chinese carbon clinchers I would highly recommend Yoeleo. I got C60s and they can be a bit of a handful (but look mental). A 40mm depth would be a better all-rounder for all sorts of terrain
Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj where do you think the frame comes from?
You also went rim brakes because "Lord Durian" said so :D good vid.
No mainly for the reasons I outlined, but primarily cost and ease of maintenance.
As a commuter bike, have you taken it off pavement into some gravel? I'm hoping it would be a do it all bike like the new Domane.
No I haven't. It's a city commuter 😜
What's your thoughts on Emonda SL5 2021 model
I haven't personally ridden one but looks like there is no more rim brake option. Otherwise it seems to have gained some aero features and I'm sure it's the usual story of lighter, stiffer and more comfortable. We'd be talking pretty subtle improvements really
Hi mate. Where did you manage to pick it up for 1.8k? Seems a descent price compared to the ones online.
Baw Baw Cycles
Actually it was $1,850. And it was February 2020. Bargain I reckon
@@melbournecyclingsegments7510 thanks for the response. I doubt they'll still have the sale but I'll give them a suss. I absolutely love this colour variant!
The bike is a 56cm. Just curious, how tall are you? I'm riding the 58cm at 5'11.5" in this same bike in black and red.
The emonda hasn't had any significant changes for some time. I'm a bit shorter than you, but have longer legs and shorter torso than average
@Winston Smith your inseam is very important as well. If I could do it over again, I probably would have went with the 56. I would drive the 180 miles rather than regret getting the wrong size after spending so much on these bikes
If I were you I would take the Dura Ace components, Wheels, and any other upgrades from the TCR and put them on the Emonda.
What’s the weight of this bike ? Cheers
Watch the video
@@melbournecyclingsegments7510 you could have told me the weight with less effort you knob
That is a lot of bike for the money you paid, especially if you’ve got those other wheels to swap in. Nice one!
Thanks mate, I went for a spin up Mt Pleasant on Sunday with my carbon wheels and the bike was magic. The framset is top-notch
Direct mount rim brakes are crap compared to my Campag Chorus rim brakes
You may want to upgrade the pads to get better stopping power ..imo
Also the standard Bontrager wheels are heavy as
Change the wheelset and enjoy the ride
Thanks for the advice. I'll try some different pads. Yep heavy wheels, that's why I weighed them in the video 😜
Disc brakes drag...
Good point, a few people say that.
