    I can’t speak for the owner, but I go with an 12-28t cassette for rolling hills, because you get a 16t that the 11-28t doesn’t have. Unless you have long downhills, one probably would not spin-out with a 53/12t combo.

    $1000 for the easiest paint job is a rip off for a company that typically is the best value. One coat of lacquer and that bike is out the door.

    I hope Trek will continue the Emonda line to be a lightweight priority instead of what Focus did with the Izalco Max.
    Considering the components on this bike and still weigh in at 6.6kg is impressive. Mountainous days, slap some lightweight climbing wheels to make it lighter and on flatter terrains, slap on some deep section aero wheels for some aero gains and probably will be right at 6.8kg or under

    I don't get the 53-12 but in the us. Juniors under 18 have to run 52-14 max, thus I have a 14-28 cassete

      It's a UCI rule, and it's a ratio which you can achieve by gears other than 52-14

    +Ronald Kuba Besides the wheels/tires, (which u discussed here & cover extensively in prior videos) what components would you suggest to the fellow (if he asked you...) that are both SL/UL and performance/quality oriented enough to make it even lighter (tho' more expensive; granted) ???? Brands/Models/etc....for racing, hills, etc.

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 5 lety

      For racing, you have to make it heavier, not lighter.

    Once again Ronald !!!! Your channel is awesome but... I have one nerdy question either to you or to other viewers :)
    What is the difference in weight of paint itself ? (but also in other areas like "look's" ) between "U5 Vapor Coat" and "Vapor Coat Color" scheme?
    Thank you !!!

    Hi Ronald , what do you think about rovals clx? Are they better than zipp firecrest?

      No

    • @elpiedpiper1
      @elpiedpiper1 Před 5 lety

      I would have to respectfully disagree as I have the CLX 40 on a SWorks Tarmac and imo they do run smoother. With the NSW however, I would choose those over the Rovals just in terms of engagement as it feels as if you don't have to pedal when coasting.

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 5 lety +1

      Someone please define this "runs smoother" phenomenon. I have tried many things, but I´ve never experienced it...

    • @elpiedpiper1
      @elpiedpiper1 Před 5 lety

      @@ronykuba I gather it's a matter of preference. When I use the Zipps I believe the wheels engage better on my ride. Perhaps it's a mental thing. I guess others may have a different perspective.

    doesn t make sense your point regarding the chainring..it s not about top speed ,it s just someone preffer 53.it keeps better chainline and the small one it s also more efficient in less hilly area

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 5 lety

      The middle of the cassette is the same, so at the same speed, how does it give you a better chainline?

      @@ronykuba it s the same when using a 50 vs a 53 when using a a short spacing casette?

    • @ronykuba
      @ronykuba  Před 5 lety

      @@Jahn80235 I was comparing 11-28 and 12-28. With a 53 vs 50 it's different, but that doesn't mean it's better. If you are slow enough to never need a 53x11, you're still better off with a compact.
