My wife and I were both sick last week on Star Wars Day, we binged all of Tales of the Empire as well as season 3 of Mando. We thought Tales was fantastic, hopefully more is coming soon. I’ve always thought that you don’t need prior knowledge of Star Wars, in order to enjoy the show however, if you want to really know what’s going on then previous viewings are a must.

Different perspectives are a good thing. They teach people to be less pedantic.
I would really like to see Tales of the Jedi S2, and to let it be about Caleb Dume/ Kanan Jarrus and Baylan Skoll. Their lives and training at the Jedi Temple, their survival of Order 66 (I know we saw how Kanan's survival in The Bad Batch 1x01 "Aftermath", but still much we don't know and that would be the point of TOTJS2), their lives during the Imperieal era into the Rebellion up until Kanan's death and when we're first introduced to Baylan in Ahsoka.
But I would also love for Tales to cover stories of Clones. For me, mainly about the Bad Batch. I know we just wrapped up with S3, but there's much we didn't see in the show and I'm very curious. Their time as cadets on Kamino, interaction with 99 before his death, the meaning behind Hunter's face tattoo, how they met the Lawquane Family. Omega's time in that underwater lab and in Tipoca city before we meet her in 1x01, her training with them between jobs for Cid while also trying to raise her up until their lives on Pabu after Tantiss before she leaves for the Rebellion.
Stories like those that should be told in Tales of the Jedi Season 2 and Tales of Clone Force 99 (TOCF99 may not happen, but it3jusy a thought).
Baylan Skoll is going to be interesting, however Ray Stevenson passed away last year unless he secretly recorded his voice since last year prior to his death.
If he does appear I definitely can imagine someone with a similar vocal range as Ray.

I have a wildly vivid imagination, so I like writing the many possibilities for what we're getting and will probably never get. Some of that can get me into trouble because forming expectations can ruin anyone's experience. That's why I love spoilers and reading all the *From A Certain Point of View* stories and novels. They help temper expectations and write a more realistic story.
I've always thought *Star Wars* was written by different writers to _foster imagination._ George Lucas always said, "Continuity is for wimps." Dave Filoni has said, "If someone writes something from one perspective and another person writes it from another, the stories will come out differently. If someone doesn't like what they wrote, they can go with something someone else wrote and form their personal connections to canon.
Or you could write something yourself. As long as you understand the point of view of the original writer, your work could be well-liked! If you're doing something you like without understanding, you'll probably upset people who do.

I have ideas on what the third season of Star Wars: Tales will be called and who it will be about.
1) Tales of the Rebels-How Zeb lost his people to the Empire and how he met Kanan. Poe Dameron’s life and how he was recruited into the Resistance.
2) Tales of the Bounty Hunters-How Fennec Shand became a master assassin and the duel between Boba Fett and Cad Bane.
3) Tales of the Mandalorians-How Sabine realized the horrors the Empire possessed which led her to be disowned by her family. What led to the purge of Mandalore and Bo-Katan losing the Darksaber to Moff Gideon.
4) Tales of the Syndicates-Maul’s time of running Crimson Dawn before he went to hiding on Malachorr. Why the Pyle Syndicate wanted to run spice on Tatooine.
5) Tales of the Clones-How Jango Fett agreed to be the template for the clone armies and receive Boba as his son (and maybe explain why Omega was created). How Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe went into exile before being recruited by the Ghost crew.
6) Tales of the Pirates-How Honda lost his pirate crew to the Empire and how Han ended up in a debt with Jabba.
7) Tales of the Sith-How Darth Plaguies took Palpatine as his apprentice and the events that led to his death. How Palpatine created Snoke and used him as a puppet behind the First Order.
8) Tales of the Senate-How Padme secretly formed the Rebellion in the last days of the Republic and how Mon Mothma left the New Republic vulnerable to the threats of the First Order.
My best friend and I went to see Episode One last week. We were new to being teenagers in 1999, and the hype leading up to the film was unparalleled. I lost count how many times we saw it in theater that summer. Jar Jar had annoyed be by the time school started back but I had my first Hollywood crush in Ewan/Obi-wan. I fell in love with Star Wars as well. We had so much fun then, and it was extra special to experience it again with her, and this time, with my Padawan/daughter as well. 💖
so not to be a dick, but any complaining about not getting the importance of ezra is fixed by watching rebels. at this point its simple live action purists not wanting to watch something animated. any confusion going forward will be fixed by watching tcw tbb and rebels
They need to do Disney+ Clone Wars movies like the 2008 movie but to complete the Dark Disciple, and Son of Dathomir arcs
Thank you for saying that about Tales of The Empire! I was JUST thinking to myself, yeah Morgan and Barrass are cool, but, they’re brand new characters. We have so very many Imperial characters that we haven’t known much about for almost 50 years!
Tales of the Jedi season 1 was admittedly a Dave Filoni “passion project” hence it was a fan favorite for Clone war’s & Prequel fans. It was Filoni’s baby and it was perfectly executed as shorts. On the other hand “Tales of the Empire” obviously wasn’t . The end result shows however the bonus content is a plus for “Clone wars” and/or “Mandoverse” fans alike. The bottom line is there’s so much potential via “Tales of” as a medium. I agree Meg! If future seasons respectfully expanded on the “character features” and/or “runtimes”. This would benefit these series in the future, tremendously.
Lastly, choosing the right characters also needs to be taken into account, creatively. For instance, most fans probably were indifferent to “Morgan’s backstory”. Whilst a “Thrawn anthology” would of been by far more intriguing as a Star War’s fan. As a life long Star War’s fan I’m complaining, cause I enjoyed “Tales of the Empire”. :)

Does anyone have any idea how much time has passed between the time Bo Katan comes to pick up Ahsoka in the underground level with the sisters and the time Anakin sees Ahsoka again in a holocron? I have the impression that her face changes slightly between the two outfits
I was able to take my 15 year old daughter to see the OG trilogy in the theaters for Star Wars week. She was pretty blown away at the dif fence in the spectacle
2:19 Id like to see that in live action rather than animation , such an excellent news for the phantom menace after 25 years , there are some unique elements on that movie despite its flaws

I'll never go back to a theater ever again. I don't enjoy having the back of my seat kicked for two hours.
Completely agree about the mistake Disney makes saying you don’t need to have watched the animated shows for specific live action shows. That I would say was there number 1 huge mistake with Ahsoka. I know all the content for it, but it was very unclear for new people to understand the point of the plot. To many new characters that new fans just don’t know much about. And the show relies on you to much to know the history and knowledge that follows. If they added more early narrative context or flashbacks going along with the show it would have made more of an impact. But I don’t think they had enough time or money to do so. I still really enjoyed ahsoka.

I’ve loved seeing Phantom Menace and ROTJ in theaters. It really does hit different seeing the events I’ve come to know so well on the big screen with that epic surround system. And you can bet I’ll be seeing ROTS in theaters too if it’s re:released next year. I also feel like it’d be really cool to see the Acolyte in theaters. Maybe I’ll try to get tickets and see if my friends will go with me. But you know what I’d absolytely love? To see episodes of the Mandalodian in theaters. I’m so jealous of those who got to see ep7 of s3 at celebration. Personally I’d pay so much money to see s2 in theaters.
Trust me, people will go see it. The people who constantly complain are the ones that will be first in line. Love it or hate it, everyone continues watching.
Grand Inquisitor and Moff Gideon would be the best tbh. GI betraying the other Temple Guards by leading them away from the temple and letting Anakin in is a cool idea for an episode

If there's a Tales of the Jedi season 2 (really hoping), I really want to see Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati featured. Ray Stevenson as Baylon was one of the best features of the Ahsoka show, and I would love to have more backstory on him and how Shin became his apprentice. With Ray sadly being gone, Tales of the Jedi (or some animated feature) would be ideal for exploring this.
I would also love to see maybe an animated series exploring the idea of the Path, which could feature Asajj and likely Quinlan. Also, I watched the Patterson Cut fan made version of the Kenobi series recently, it really left me wanting them to explore more Darth Vader in between the prequels and originals.
I'll tell you how I know that it will be hard to sell The Acolyte. So far, MOST of the people who saw The Phantom Menace in theaters these past 2 weeks didn't stay to see the Acolyte teaser after the movie. And there are reports that there are people who get up and leave while the teaser was playing.
I can confirm, saw it May 3rd sold out evening showing in AMC disney springs orlando. More than half the audience left, the remaining audience has little to no response. It was pretty awkward
The only caveat is that during the trailer, the title, Tales Of The Jedi, flamed out in red to reveal Tales Of The Empire. You nailed it, though, the fact that they're both listed as "Season 1", implies that they are their own separate entities.
Personally I would like to see more about the path how it started and the few Jedi who help others hid from the empire
I hope Disney feel ashamed of how they treated the prequel trilogy, they clearly realised it was a mistake as we can see they're certainly trying to capitalise on it now!
Ahsoka was Rebels season 5 in all but name! So yes you did need to watch some stuff prior, that was a bit of a self inflicted wound (which Disney/Lucasfilm has a tendency to keep doing in various forms).

It had better be a cheaper price than a 2-3 hour movie ($10-$17/person depending upon 2D, 3D, Imax)...I'd pay $5/episode if it was in a theater...or regular price for 3 episodes...and have intermissions programmed.

I do look forward to many of the new Star Wars but The Acolytes is not of interest. I’ve never been so invested in the old republic and I really stopped reading the books in high school. I read The Empire Stikes Back in 1979/80 before the movie, so when someone pissed me off I spilled the beans on .vader and Luke. So just was never that much of a fanatic i watched each movie for itself. I certainly wouldn’t pay money to see The Acolyte when I may not watch it on a service I already pay for. It would probably be better to release Skeleton Crew earlier and scrub The Acolyte which has been disastrous in prevues.

I saw New Hope on opening day (I'm old..lol) at the Castro theater, 2nd showing, in 1977. I'd always been a scifi fan. Robert Heinlein at age 12 started me. Star Trek was the thing in 1966. BUT, SW was so amazing. Not many are still around who saw it on the big screens l. Back then. 50' wide, 30' tall...amazing & the Dolby Surround Sound...shivers when the Tantive flew overhead, but the battleship was felt all-over with its engines blasting thru you, seats vibrating....plus I remember thinking "When is that ship going to stop flying over head!" It filled the screen & I thought I was just under it ...
I've never forgotten it & it changed my life. Fortunately, I was able to see V & Vl the same, on large screens, but, alas, they're all little movie screens now, not much larger than your movie room.
Let's just hope SOMEONE who wants to be "queen mouse" , will wake up & release it for streaming.

@@maeve4686 I saw RotJ on big screen twice in 1983 and for the SE, I saw them on massive screens and for the TFA marathon I saw on a gigantic screen. And if you at the end of your post are referring to the unaltered edition being locked away, just download 4k77, 4k80 and 4k83. It's exactly like original release with simple film cleaning and scanned for 4k. I've been watching ANH no SE at 150" in 4k for awhile. Way better than my laserdiscs!

Who's the blue guy & those ladies in red? & that other lady who is building that big ring ship? Why do the stormtroopers have their armour taped together? Tales of the empire was pretty bleh. Was very excited. "Empire" *this jedi decided to be good again* And this night sister meets thrawn isn't really empire to me but whatever I guess.
If I watched the show independently without me thinking empire it's fine. No complaints

Bro...try going to the theaters with arm chairs, food, drinks and waitstaff...you'll spend that pretty quickly. Heck just a big bucket of popcorn two sodas, plus tickets...shit tickets are 40-50 for two....I'm happier with my couch, Bose sound, great bourbon selection and ability to PAUSE to pee is worth not going to theaters. 🤷♂️
Best seat to watch anything is in your own living room on your own TV with your own selection of refreshments.

I give props to all the SW fans who stick in there with optimism. But after decades of being a fan, anything new from SW is just abysmal, and im done. With the exceptions of Andor, everything else is ironically polluted by background politics and virtue signaling. Pronouns in SW. Firing Gina. Giving Weinstein's assistant cart blanche to piss on Lucas lore. Kennedy's self insert feminist agenda, hiring a novice to direct a Rey movie. The legacy is over. I'll stick to the fan films.
I used to get laughed at for saying Disney canon isn't SW canon. Now everyone is on that band wagon with me and I can't help but feel bitter sweet. I can't stand what Disney has done with a lot of SW content they've released. I can count on one hand the additions they've made that were acceptable imo and most of them the casual fan would disagree with because of horrible writing that doesn't give context to deeper situations.
Thanks for trying Disney, but we have it from here. I'd say it was a pleasure, but it sure as well wasn't.
