Pro tip: I sometimes you see the prison of van Horsling first and later in the same level the cave with the key, so you would need a lot of time and recources to get the key back to van Horsing to get him free. You can skip that. You can skip Horsling entirely if you get the Bow. What kills all Vampires instantly are those metal arrows, the bow comes with one. Save it. Go to Vlads castle, go to the top floor from the far right or left, throw a rope to the ceiling without Vlad noticing you, climb up to the top and shoot Vlad with the Bow. Instantly dead, no fight, collect the cape and crown, do a dance.

So step by step: 1. Get the eye 👁 Optional: free Van Horsing 2. Get the crown 👑 Optional: get vlad’s cape 3. Get the ankh in olmec’s room 4. Get the sword in 4-2 🗡 5. When in 4-3, go all the way down under the lava. Take the golden idol and let the lava kill you. 6. Go up and kill abzu and make sure you have got the tablet of destiny. 7. Go to 6-2. Optional: Grab the clover to get some extra time. ☘️ 8. Find a door in 6-2 and grab the idol fitting the description of tablet of destiny in your journal. 9. Go to 6-3. Qilin will spawn. 10. Once in 6-4 , the boss level, fly all the way up using Qilin. 11. You can find Hundun in 7-4. Optional: shoot Hundun in the eye with the bow of the Moon challenge to go to Pasific Ocean.
If you get a jet pack in the dwelling I would definitely recommend going to the jungle, it’s easy to navigate, no one hit kill lava and the hedjit is very easy to get as long as you try a little to get money, still go to the tide pools as you can pull Excalibur with the hedjit
I think shooting vlad is a bit of a harder strategy than just letting Van Horsing do it for you, and multiple vampires can’t be dealt with easily if you’re carrying the bow. (Back whipping them onto the belt is so much easier than shooting them) I will agree that if you don’t rescue Van Horsing bringing the bow isn’t the worst idea.
Good video, but: 1) going city of gold route will give you the alien compass which is the only one with in CO 2) you can do an ank-skip, but it's harder and will cost you some bombs. 3) Olmec skip is possible. At least get Olmec to the second phase before you go to waddler to save some time.
Yeah unfortunately I did the cosmic ocean run immediately after it was solved, prior to the alien compass knowledge. The old ankh skip was patched the day I uploaded so the new one hadn’t been discovered yet. That is a good tip but I do like to do waddler first when not speedrunning just in case I forget. XD
Yeah the strategy created in the last few hours was not known when edited. I do suspect that one will also be patched out so I will be keeping the walkthrough as is for now.
@@lejohn_e64 there is a method to do it without the teleporter as well but it takes 3 ropes and at least 4 bombs. With them patching out the previous method I suspect they will do it again so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re planning on submitting on runs on mossranking.
Wow, so many things that just weren't known yet. The hedjet, Duat, Olmec skip, preserving the ankh in tidepool, Kingu without Excalibur, the MANY Quilin skips out there ranging from relatively easy to completely bonkers...this video leaves a lot out. To be fair though, the method shown is, aside from the lack of clone gun or alien compass, probably still the easiest and most reliable method to get to the Cosmic Ocean. Maybe it's not surprising, then, that it was the first one discovered.
I already knew most of the steps, was just doing fact checking in my first run that I thought of going to Abzu. I died trying to fly to the Olmec ship with the Qillin, because in videos it looks really easy, but in reality it really isn't, and you have to be super careful. I used the Ankh skip (thanks for that other video :) ) but lost it due to random olmite explosion. I still really loved this run, unclocked Tina and proved to myself I can get to SC. Just 4 days ago I couldn't get past Olmec phase 3, it's insane. Anyways, thank you so much for this and many other videos :)

Oh wow. I never knew in older patches of the game, phase 2 Olmec had infinite bombs. Now he only does 3 waves, nd restarts once he falls and gets up again
The ropes are destroyed by the lasers, but yes you can skip the qilin step with a teleporter or very careful climbing up the side avoiding the spark balls.
Isnt there a second type of route? Like going to jungle and getting the helmet in blackmarket then going to duat? Anyway this is going to help me alot thanks!
There is. Both the crown AND the hedjet allow you to pull out Excalibur. Both the hedjet and the crown let you open the door to the City of Gold with the scepter. And the tablet of Destiny drops from Osiris in Duat and Kingu in Abzu. So you can mix and match routes as much as you want.
Yeah I could have specified the route but I wanted the video to be as simple as possible. This route is a lot easier IMO so I think it’s better for a first time run.
3:45 At the far right of the lava there is no door. I still feel pain when thinking about that run :( Also the Hedjet allows you to pick up the excalibur aswell.

Now I already have beaten Tiamat once, and in another run, died trying to ride the Qillin to the Olmec ship. I'm very close to SC, and I think you will soon be as well.
I've seen at least one person (Twigglesoft) who did. It shows the exit, which is peculiar considering that the normal compass doesn't work there, but any secret it might reveal is yet to be discovered afaik.
Doing all of this is really impressive, and sounds fun to watch, but honestly so many of the steps just sound outright boring. "Spend X minutes waiting for lava to slow." "Spend 2-3 minutes waiting for Olmec to bomb everything."
@@godlyvex5543 In my opinion he shouldn't even be there. Without the ability to spawn enemies his first phase is an absolute joke. It's just a dumbed down copy/paste from the first game. The second phase is just standing on his head until he's bombed the world out of existence or bombing it yourself and going quick. Third phase is back to the first. It's just not fun. It's not dynamic. It's not interesting the Nth time around.
@@Laerbn Well, the third phase spawns UFOs, which does make it a bit harder, but I think these changes would make it more engaging and fun: 1. Replace the first phase with the third. 2. Olmec crushes you into the ceiling if you stand atop him during the 2nd phase. 3: Have the purple things die in one hit from the whip in phase 2. And 4, give olmec a really difficult final attack on floor 3, but have him die right after finishing the attack. This would further de-incentivize waiting for him to destroy the ground. Change 1 would make the first floor slightly less braindead, changes 2 and 3 would make you actually play the game in phase 2, and change 4 makes waiting around pointless.
@@godlyvex5543 Those would certainly help and make it more interesting. However, I'm still of the opinion that he should just be removed and let us get straight to having fun in the levels. He just doesn't really serve any purpose in my mind. It's a weird skill check in the middle of the game that burns a lot of time.
We don’t currently know if there is an ending there or not, but the furthest anyone has made it is level 7-34 as of the time of this video. I suspect it’s an endless mode meant for score runs personally.
@@o1aa3hjuqe there is no way to be absolutely sure for now, but I really think the special ending does not involve the cosmic ocean. The special ending will likely take a bit more time to solve but I’ll be sure to make another video on what it involves when the time comes.
Some quick tips: Unless van horslings arrow has special properties, all blue arrows should be capable of one shotting vlad. One time Horslings shot missed, so I picked up the arrow and instakilled vlad with it. Do tell me if I'm wrong but the bow from the moon challenge should be able to kill vlad with its default arrow. Second, if you struggle with drill rng like I do, it may be preferable to take the jungle route. While it is harder, it supplies you with a boomerang and (if you rescue the adventurers) rope and bombs. You can rob the black market or just buy the hedjet. It's pretty easy to afford if you take your time so do consider it.
The Moon Challenge bow is indeed the same and will one shot Vlad. Bombing down only takes 4-6 bombs so in most runs you can likely skip the drill if it is giving you a lot of trouble. Jungle route definitely still pushes me away due to the lack of a guaranteed movement item (vlad's cape) which is a NECESSITY when going for distance in the cosmic ocean. Jetpack being something you can lose if you accidentally run into one bit of fire or spark ball.
XanaGear you'll usually find a movement item in the black market. Though I myself am not going for cosmic ocean runs just yet, so I'll take your word for it. For true ending runs I've just found the black market to get me the materials I need more consistently.
Can you make a video explaining how to avoid some situations? Maybe do a run and explain the steps in a after commentary (saying what you were looking for and general advice)? idk, love the videos though!
I finally got to sunken city but i died from hundun but thats ok.but........ lets not talk about how i died at tiamats throne from the lasers 3 times!!!
@@TGM_Productions the game ends with a small cutscene and a constellation is added to the telescope above the hub area. We are hoping there are ways to get other constellations but we have not discovered a method yet.
The door that leads to Kingu. Does it spawn where the lava was in a specific location? I fucking assumed it would be in the centre and it wasn't and I fell in the lava. I'm so angry :')

I know I am not Xanagear, and so far I have only beaten Tiamat (very close to Hundun tho), but my advice is: Absolutely beat him without the bow and light arrow first. The Cosmic Ocean is so hard, you're essentially 100% guaranteed to die the first time you get there.
They did not. You may have been jumping off the rope to the right to dodge a vamp and got hit. I completed it last night after the most recent patch with no issues.
I like watching Korean streams. The guy is talking for hours and every once in a while the subtitles would appear: "You can't see a thing!" "Vandal!" "You didn't disappoint me... until next time..."
I’m sorry about the spoilers, I really just wanted the people who were searching for an ending guide to be able to find it. :( I will say that even knowing the existence of this does not spoil the experience in the slightest. I wasn’t the first person to find it, it was a large community effort and I highly doubt a single person would find it on their own. Only respect to everyone who feels spoiled by this, I apologize.

finally made it to co today, thanks for all the help! (I died on the first level of co :'D)
So step by step:
1. Get the eye 👁

Do not leave the bow outside of vlad's castle - arrows one shot vampires (vlad included!)

It has sadly been patched out, but it seems to be barely possible with a well timed teleport

True crown might have something to do with hundun but its very hard to perform with the teleport every 22 seconds

If you have a ton of ropes, can you skip all the steps to get the Qilin and use ropes to climb up Tiamat's room?
The ropes are destroyed by the lasers, but yes you can skip the qilin step with a teleporter or very careful climbing up the side avoiding the spark balls.
Honestly, if you're skilled enough to climb without Quilin, you're skilled enough to get him in the first place. xD

This is honestly the ultra safe way to do this, I am also a speedrunner and you definitely do not do these things lol.
The lava slowing thing needs to be fixed, and I don't know how you would fix olmec without reworking the whole second phase.

Great video! Would you recommend someone going for their first hard run victory to do it without the golden arrow and bow first, and try a cosmic ocean run after that first win? Thanks!
I know I am not Xanagear, and so far I have only beaten Tiamat (very close to Hundun tho), but my advice is:
Absolutely beat him without the bow and light arrow first. The Cosmic Ocean is so hard, you're essentially 100% guaranteed to die the first time you get there.
I did a run without the bow so I could get classic guy
Did they patch the sun challenge? The top right spear trap hit me on the rope
They did not. You may have been jumping off the rope to the right to dodge a vamp and got hit.
I completed it last night after the most recent patch with no issues.

I am of the opinion that it probably is, but we won't know for sure until someone uses cheat engine (probably today) on the PC release.
Someone did use a cheat engine, it goes to 7-99 and you get the last ending. Not sure how your suppose to do it legitimately but it's there.

I will say that even knowing the existence of this does not spoil the experience in the slightest.
I wasn’t the first person to find it, it was a large community effort and I highly doubt a single person would find it on their own.
