@@mbrew3244 Thats his drum kit, but that is not Terry Bozzio, who did play on the studio version of this song & Take it Easy & is in the official videos. Patrick stayed and played on Thunder & toured with Andy. Ironically Andy, who left DD was replaced by Warren Cuccurullo. Warren is also from Missing Persons. Terry was working with Andy who told Terry that he was leaving DD. Terry then told Warren, as Missing Persons just broke up in 1986, & Warren started calling DD to get an audition & sending tapes before DD even knew Andy was leaving. I remembered watching this live and when he said "this is the only hit I ever had" I realized that he knew his solo career wasn't going to be as big as Duran Duran. I always thought that Don't let Me Die Young was going to be a mega hit for him. He had a lot of great songs on Thunder. I feel he suffered the same fate Ace Frehley's first solo album did. From Nov 1984-1987 you had the Arena (1984) album (Duran) , A View to a Kill (1985) single (Duran), The Power Station (1985) album, Arcadia (1985) album, Andy's solo single (1986) and later album (1987), John's solo single (1986), Notorious (1986) and Robert Palmer's solo (1985) album (a lot of fans associated him with Duran because of The Power Station). So like Ace's album with a multitude of Kiss releases, Andy's album was part of a vastly over saturation of Duran Duran-esque releases. It's a shame because Andy's never reached the heights he should have. I'm sure in some ultimate reality, he became a rock god as he should have become in ours.

Thank You Tommy L for posting this concert video from the past . I personally was never a fan of the band Duran Duran. But when I heard the Thunder recording from Andy Taylor. I was very impressed and cant believe it took almost 30 years before I actually could see him perform in concert. Other then on video. Andy Taylor is very unique.

Obviously, Andy was underutilized in Duran Duran. He is so underrated. I think he was held back in DD. He's in his element here.

Andy was the one who left his band for the second time. He can't erased his egoistic in nature coz, he probably thinks that he will be successful as a solo performer. Its hard when a member of the band doesn't want to comply with his bandmates.

Thank you for sharing this, I love Andy's music. I wish he would come and do a few solo live dates in the UK, it was 1990 the last time I saw him solo, I don't bother with durex durex since they screwed him over the second time.

I totally agree. I don't think he should have ever really played with Duran Duran in the first place because he has such a fine hard rock edge while Duran Duran was too much pop (I did like them, but in the Eighties I became more of a hard rock fan myself.)

If Duran Duran had implemented more electric guitar into their music, I doubt Andy would've ever left. I can see DD taking a break after "A View To A Kill" for Power Station and Arcadia but then they should've returned with a rock meets new wave meets funk approach with heavier guitar than was on Seven and The Ragged Tiger so that Andy could've flexed his guitar muscles better.
