Southern Toad Calling

Now here's a handsome guy. This is the southern toad. They produce toxins that ward off predators. Their eggs are also covered in this toxin.

frickin Awesome!!!! I have toads planted all over my yard. I see and hear them all the time. But I have never seen their throats bulged like that.

Hey Ray! Cool video! My dog got a hold of one of these recently very briefly but it was enough for her to have a very unpleasant time dealing with some of the toxins emitted from the glands you mention in the video. She is alright now but it was a bit scary in the moment!
