It's a beautiful area that I enjoy exploring. I love science and nature and archeology. This site is dedicated to those subjects. It also contains some of my original music. 2024 Partial Solar Eclipse And Colander Effect

The April 8, 2024 solar eclipse was only partial in Hartsville, SC. But it was still pretty cool. I tried a trick I've read about where you let the sun's light pass through a colander. It creates lots of little images of the sun on the ground. In this case it created a lot of mini solar eclipses.

Every time I hear this call it makes me think of some far away jungle. But this is right here in the US. This is a male pileated woodpecker. The male has a red streak in the corner of his mouth. Yeah, after making it to two minutes... Those concretions have been worked into bear heads also. I know, I'm sounding crazy, lol. Probably gonna make a couple more comments by the end, 😅
"and deposits these minerals" the around 50 second mark when you said that, you were on top of an artifact. Notice the jawline like a left side face profile from slightly behind? I bet if you go back and grab that one, the artwork in it will blow your mind.
Your concretion is bear head... Notice his eye and snout is chiseled on both sides. Bet he'd look really good in the right light source.

@@jbojm9 it will blow your mind when you understand the patterns, and learn to read them, but most stones have the bear story in them. And when I say most, I mean if I walk outside right now and pick up a random rock, 50 percent chance it's gonna have at least two bear faces, possibly up to 20, and a world of other secrets... Many other animals, but the bear seems to be the most common. A lot come with like a beaver or muskrat too. Faces of the people... Most people have 'artifacts' that they have no idea how to use. Like it's a broken ax or something, when really it's broke right there cause it's an ear for a bear... Or eye... Or face... Whatever. Anywho, ✌️ Take some of your whatever rocks you got that look like they have a jawline, wash em gently, and after they dry, take em inside and play with different angles with shadow. If you can use candle/fire light. Take every face, and flip it upside down and all around... Do this to every face. Look for images in the shadows, within the rock, and as a whole. Look for animals and faces... If you do this, your mind will be blown. Your bear heads probably have stories too, but until you learn to read the stones with a more obvious rock to learn the glyphs, it will be very difficult. But... I guarantee that there is a little bear that climbs a mountain and jumps off... Again those bumpy ones take some practice to read, but once you learn, you can find some really cool stuff. ✌️

Oh no! I haven't been stung by one of these. But I was stung by a saddleback caterpillar which is similar. It stung and I had a rash. But it only lasted a day for me. I hope everything turns out OK for you! Thanks for watching!

Vauum keeps saying the robot is not on the ground..Tikom
Yours is different from mine. But I suspect for it to know it's on the ground it must be able to sense pressure on the wheels or have sensors that can see the ground. If it has sensors connected to the wheels they could be bad or there may just be trash around the wheels interfering with the sensors. If it has sensors that see the ground they may be bad or just dirty. This is just a guess.

Great stuff I really enjoyed you guides on native american artifacts and arrowhead hunting ... question based on your own inference how many arrowheads alone would you say are out there and what's a rough estimate of how many a seasoned hunter can find? Appreciate the inspiring content.. it lends to being more attentive in life
Of course the number of arrowheads you find will depend on the population of native Americans who lived in the area. Some areas were more populated than others. But when I find disturbed dirt near almost any creek, I usually find flakes from stone tool making. The problem with finding arrowheads now is that the best spots have been picked over. It's hard to find a place that hasn't been searched. On top of that, farmers don't plow as much. But I suspect here in SC, there are still thousands of arrowheads.
@@jbojm9 hard to believe with all these small rivers/streams they've been picked over ...I might have to get out in the thick stuff this fall .. like Blacks creek ...Sandhills? I'm gonna give it my best effort .. I've been finding evidence just no heads.. thanks

The ones I used to hear in Northeast Arkansas in the early Fifties said "Chip out of the white oak." They sounded more different from whippoorwills than your bird there. We had bobwhites, too.
Which one does the calling? Male or female?
From what I've read it is mostly the male that does the calling. My understanding is the female can call but doesn't do it often and when she does the call is weak.
