      Honestly it was prolly not tapering that caused brain damage not the actual withdrawal itself. Add severe anxiety and BOOM never ending "withdrawals". With that said i do know that after being hooked once going back on small doses can send you into physical and mental distress faster than if you were new. I also feell liked we can destroy our nerves from stress. I think that's was fibro is but thats another story. Either way good luck. i know what it's like to suffer and never knowing why.

    Hi sixslow. Happy to hear about your progress. I had been on klonapin over 40 yrs. i am 67 and tapered off of it 5 mos ago. Early on I took valium, or ativan in small doses and then was prescribed klonapln. It was so easy to get. I have gone through some of the symptoms you mentioned. I don’t go out of the house much at this point. I do walk at the beach with my husband each day. I have no energy on most days. My emotions are dulled. I couldn’t cry if I wanted to. Just living one day at a time. Reading a lot. For fear issues, I’m reading, Love is Letting Go Of Fear. It is helping me. Plus I have a strong relationship with God.
    Thanks for your video. You are doing great!

    Anyone who doubts that this can really happen is obviously very unaware of the dangers of this class of medication. It's still shocking to me that doctors have no clue! If it was safe to take them for the rest of our lives I'm sure we would all choose that option instead of putting ourselves thru pure hell to get off of them in hopes of having a normal life again someday! Sadly many more people will follow us on this path long after we are gone due to the lack of awareness. You are doing your part at spreading the word and warning others so they never have to suffer like this. Thank you so much for your videos it gives me hope that I will someday recover. Still in the worst of it right now but I'm not giving up. Everyone please stay away from benzos they have the potential to ruin your life! No BS!

    I really appreciate your videos. I've been watching since November - while I was on benzos and contemplating coming off. Your story has been the reason I've chosen to get off. Seeing all of the pain you've gone through terrified me. I fast tapered three years of benzo use; Xanax and transitioned to Valium to taper. Tapered off completely (20mg x2 valium) in about four months. I'm 27 days clean right now and I feel like I'm getting worse. Physical symptoms are minimal but the mental symptoms are in full force (in addition to digestive problems)... I just keep watching your videos over and over, reminding myself it will eventually get better. Some days, no matter how much I try to comfort myself with future well-beings, it just doesn't work, my mind feels broken... I'm so glad you're finally starting to feel better. I hope you stay off the benzos AND alcohol, no matter what kind of barriers you encounter in life - it's not worth feeling the way you have. Good luck and stay strong.

    Hi Sixslow,
    Great video! I am glad to see you continually improving. I was on 2 mg of Klonopin a day for 12 years. I did a 3 month taper (way to fast) and I am now on day 580 of my recovery. I had all the symptoms you talk about and have had horrible digestive issues. Even this far out I still have extreme exhaustion, but I hope that starts to go away in a few months. Take care, Ken

    Glad to hear you're getting better. Not sure if you remember me, but I'm the guy who was on 8 MG's of Xanax a day for years. Last I messaged you I was 5 months sober. Not really leaving my room. I couldn't take it anymore. I'm now back on klonopin. 2 MGs per day. Im working again so that's good but the struggle is real. No real happiness. Just going through the motions. All in all, at least I'm back on a taper. 8 MGs of Xanax a day for years to now 2 MGs a day of klonopin is a huge taper in just over a year. Please pray for me as I will continue to do for you. I'm not sure what the future holds, but I believe I will conquer this. Cold turkey was a BAD idea and I don't recommend it. Keep up the good work and thank you for the testimony. Nobody around me understands what I'm going through. I've accepted that and I try to teach them more about it over time and it does start to click for them but not to the potential I would hope. They just can't feel what I feel. Anyway, you're doing great 👍🏼 thanks again. Brian.

      Hang in there bud like you said "At least your on a taper". I have been holding at 0.5MG Klonopin for three months after dropping for 1MG down to 0.5MG literally overnight! I have been on Klonopin for 15 years so it hasn't been easy! The first two months were absolutely horrible, however, now I have intermittent WINDOWS of course coupled with WAVES! It's almost like I have to do everything perfectly with respect to a "Keto Diet", extremely low sugar, lots of water etc. I chew on Gin-Gins, to help battle nausea & take the finest Kratom I have personally found at times for extreme pain! There is no one size shoe fits all approach to doing this "Thing"! Your making progress & if it makes you feel any better today was one of those days where I felt no emotions, extreme fatigue, nausea, headaches....after a couple relatively good weeks! My "Keto Diet", fell apart & simultaneously I consumed too much sugar as well)-: Back on the "Keto Diet", with lots of Vegetables NON-GMO more important to me then Organic, as who really knows what organic and not organic these days? In closing your making progress & for that you should give yourself a pat on the back "Great Work"(-:

    Coming off these types of medications is so hard. I recall talking to my teacher, who is a drug expert, if one could die during withdrawal. He said "no." I think one could kill themselves and/or have seizures. My friend nearly died coming off.
    I don't think one can be on benzos without consequences long-term. It messes up the brain. That GABA thing is accurate, your symptoms are real, and I have been through a similar thing with coming off meds like this. I even had it when coming off high-dose RSO (alcohol extract resin from cannabis). Your message is helpful and is backed by science. Thank you. I have a little more to go. It's by choice. I've experienced what you did when doctors dropped it in half overnight. Great job!

    @boidlvr Před 6 lety +1

    Totally agree with all you said + experienced it all in my 2 yr unaware Ativan tolerance state + then did the Ashton Manual taper. Through research the way I learned how our symptoms were real manifestations is, due to Benzo's changing brain chemistry because the head brain is connected to every system, gland, + organ we have. The head brain was frenzied so the rest of the body's parts were too ! Some of those systems have to be treated too. For instance the gut which cares for pretty much our whole body. I'm still treating my gut with kid gloves ie, a light better diet omitting junk, chemicals, and GMO's. Choosing nutrient dense foods, plus a probiotic to assist build up again, and water, water, water. Diet seems to be the most efficient helper for progress out of this hell. I was a frequent ER visitor, 7 times in 2 yr's till I figured out they are not taught to deal with us but can temporarily treat a symptom. Worst part for us is going through tolerance + not knowing it. The You Tuber's saved my life with instructions what to do + what not to do. I had several Dr's through this all , none had a clue, none helped me. Then I found an Internal Medicine Dr. one who specializes in all body parts, will treat me for lingering issues caused by Benzo's. My Dear sixslow, your gut seems to pain you the most, mine did too but the changed diet had me quickly feeling better. My daughter came off Psyche drugs + also had agonizing abdominal pains which very soon lessened after a diet change. Sixslow, I can only imagine how you feel, I watched your 1-9-17 video , so much torture you were in. It was informative to view that video so all can see what Benzo's do to us, people need to see that. Thank you for making all the video's, I subscribed so I can see your changes through out time. You are a blessing.

    hi, Im so angry with those people that are saying your symptoms arent real. I am so similar to you in your symptoms its unreal. i was abruptly stopped by my Dr after 5 years on clonazepam and 20 on
    diazepam. im going thru hell withdrawals, no one really seems to know here ie about tapering etc, or severity of symptoms. i did nearly end my life in month 3 and 4, was in hell, and thought i had intestinal cancer. the pain was that severe,moving around abdomen. then slowly the burning stinging nettle skin turned up, the months without closing my eyes, the feeling of falling thru a elevator every few seconds. Sixslow, thank you so much, you gave me my life back in that you have given me light at the end of the tunnel. God Bless You for that 🙂

The biggest issue that I have, is that I struggle with my thoughts a lot.. I never used to pay much attention to them, but my thought patterns are so incredibly strange now.. I constantly fight with them and have trouble with obsessing over my thoughts and just have a general fear of everything, including my thoughts. I hate this.

And I wonder why you did that..I mean when you were seizing up in the one video Id have went back on so I will say you sir have some balls. I wouldn't have held on. My biggest fear is dying LIKE THAT lol from my heart giving out so I'm trying to work out more before I start getting lower. I would have got back on and tapered if I was dying like that... I feel like abruptly stopping this might really cause more damage that takes alot longer to deal with and heal from. I'm about to scream about benzos everywhere I can. It's not right doctors do not warn anyone at all and prescribing these are just insane after all I know now I'm really surprised I never learned this all sooner. It will dramatically impact my life from now on..and atleast force me to eat better which is number 2 of why i think you still have shitty symptoms you cannot eat processed foods at all anything in a package is NO imo...IM just so mad that I ever told my subutex Dr I had anxiety. I kicked the subutex easy with a long taper. I'd GLADLY DO THAT AGAIN instead of this true brain f*ck of a ride. I wish I could have done the benzos first so I could use opiates during. But atleast now opiates would work on me again if they were truely ever needed which is not UNTILL I'm dying but good to have incase I guess. I rant. Yep... delirium here I come

    You shouldn't have quit cold turkey bro.. You could have died.. They have stuff to help you with benzo withdrawal.. I was on 3mg of xanax for 2 years and tried cold turkey and I felt like I was dying. I couldn't concentrate on anything , extremely anxious, cold sweats, shaky, etc.. I still suffer from anxiety but I ride it out everyday and make myself do stuff rather than not do anything..i was home bound for 3 months and didn't want to do anything.. Stuff is awful and I don't wish that on anyone.. Glad your OK now man.. God bless

    Wow I was getting that fear of dying so bad too! I also thought a lot about what will happen when I die?
    Months 1-8 it was constant and very scary. It has subsided a lot since I'm now at 10.5 months off 6mg's of Klonopin and Xanax for 6 years.
    I'm looking forward to see where you are at when you hit 18 months. It seems many people turn a big corner then ☺

Ive been in withdrawal for 13 months now and alot has improved. But im still dealing with withdrawal OCD, sleep problems, anxiety and a sence of inner vibration. • @sixslow
      @sixslow  Před 7 lety +2

      I would make smaller more frequent cuts as opposed to large less frequent cuts. please do not cut 2.5mg. that is a 25% cut. if you're at 5mg x2 a day, so 10mg. I would cut MAX 1 mg, then wait at least 2 weeks before next cut.
      If it was me doing a taper again i might even cut .5mg every week and see how that felt.
      the important thing is to not cut more than 10% or you'll have bad symptoms, slow an steady wins the race!

I quit cold turkey three weeks ago and I was fine for two weeks, I had many symptoms, but they were bearable. But a week ago I had a panic attack and I think I have agorafobia now. Basically I'm scared when I'm out of the house and there is a lot of stimuli around me, and because I fainted now I'm scared of warm spaces because I think I don't have enough air. @@MrPollok How are you feeling now ?
      Actually i hope you understand what i mean . I was abusing weed for about 1.5 years until 2021 nov15 .. no benzos nothing
      But somehow i think these dealers mix up benzos with hash as i have heard about it …
      During the my first 2 weeks of withdrawals i got severe depression but it faded away to mild…. But
      Suddenly i had these burning feet in mid December which extended with burning hands and stiffness … we can its like nerve pain but a litle reduced now but hurts walking or lifting anything … its like pain and burning at the same time … now i am worried that are my nerves permanently damaged ….
      And moreover from first week of January i am suffering very sever anxiety brain fog …. I had been 3 months now …. I want this anxiety to end this fearfull ness and sensitive to sound …. Will i ever recover …. I smoked weed just at night once …
      Will this ever go away??

    I love watching this guys story. But he doesn't understand what having crippling anexity is like and that's why we use the benzos. You stated you used them for "mild anexity". If I didn't have the 2mg xanax I take daily I wouldn't be able to keep a job, have a social life, ect...
