just a couple little tips, upgrading planes is usually the way to go since upgrading cities only creates a bigger buffer and doesn't solve your problem, also try and spread planes on the same line so that the city doesn't stock up all the passengers and releases them which creates a lot of red, for longer routes I'd advice to have 2-3 planes at the start to spread the load, also it's usually a good idea to create a couple big cities and then connect all of the smaler ones to them, that way your traffic is predictable and you can see problems faster, also try and reduce the maximum length of any given route, this avoids unwanted passengers

    • @alexcoroian3983
      @alexcoroian3983 Před 2 lety +4

You absolutely need megahubs in this game. I got decently far in this game and a "net" doesn't make it more flexible because the game AI doesn't distribute traffic, i.e. all the connective passengers will want to go through the most efficient route and you will get a massive backlog anyway which forces you to highly upgrade particular cities and routes. It's just too expensive to have a bunch of routes that aren't strictly necessary.

Hey RCE, love your gameplay videos man. Keep up the good work, your style of commentary is very unique and funny so keep it up.
Regarding Flycorps, I have a got a few tips and tricks for you which is gonna immensely increase your score without any hectic needs...
    1. Always try to connect every city of each country to their capital only. If a route is overlapping some city in the future then cancel that route and connect to your capital via the overlapped city.
    2. Connect the capitals with their neighbouring country's capital only or else it will be a huge mess. Same with the cities too, don't connect it with each other regardless of where the passengers wanna go. Make them go through the capital only.
    3. Instead of adding a second plane try to upgrade the first plane to the maximum, then only add the second one. It's much better. (You can skip this step only if you suddenly got a country which is very far from your usual routes like once I got Mongolia connected, and it was very hard to keep dragging the map back and forth again and again, plus as the route was so long, it accordingly took large amount of time to travel in between so I added 2 extra planes to that route so that the Mongolian city would not get filled up)
    4. You should accept pretty much anything the game throws at you regarding upgrade or law suit or anything just accept it, it will be better.
Just follow these steps after some time, you will see that all the routes would be self managed and you wouldn't be in a hectic place.
That's it, enjoy and keep FLYING ✈!! 😁

I personally feel like while a hub city works at the beginning, having most cities connected to most other cities nearby is a good idea. Especially within the same country. Like every German city should have a direct to every other german city, with maybe two big airports for international. So Berlin to London like you had. And then for the smaller ones something like Dresden tp Prague, becuase it's such a short flight it'd be chips to put it in, and it keeps traffic out of an airport it doesn't need to be in.

The trick I know with this game, and it is also true with real world flights is the MAX jumps required to reach a given destination. Have a single port designated a hub and have ALL surrounding ports connect to it. Then have a second port far away designated as a second hub, have that connect to the first hub, but not to any other port connected to that hub. From there the MAX number of flights required is 3 to reach any destination while reducing overall clutter and redundant connections.

    RCE heres a Tip:
The reason why Brussels was getting so full is because the other airports around it wanted to go to cologne so they had to have a connecting flight to Brussels which filled it up
    Make more routes

Okay, so early in the video (about 2 minutes in) you got a warning for London, and when you clicked on it, you had over 100 people in London wanting to get yo Glasgow. I also saw only one level 1 plane on the London-Glasgow route.
What's happening is, folks from around Europe are trying to get to Glasgow, and London is the only hub that goes there, so everyone trying to get there is going through London. But theres only one slow, small (20 passanger) plane running a (relatively speaking) long route. So they're all getting to London and waiting for this single plane to get to Glasgow and back to pick up more of them, but more come in while the plane is out than the plane picks up.
Paying to upgrade the airport, like you did, is just paying to have passengers sitting around, waiting, and not paying you money. Increasing the capacity of the route, whether through buying or upgrading a plane, is what you really needed there.
That's been your biggest problem. You're just upgrading whatever isn't green, but without paying attention to what's actually happening, it's just kind of a dice roll whether or not it actually solves your problem.

Greenland isn't actually huge like maps show. It's just stretched out like that because most maps do that when flattening a Earth (a 3d sphere) onto a 2d space. There's actually several different methods that maps have been done with, and some of them vary wildly. You should look up the different methods for mapping the Earth. Some of them are crazy.

Always try to make hubs. You won't be able to connect every airport, it would cost too much. Use the capitals as big hubs and cities inside the country as small hubs to reduce traffic. Later in the game (mainly when you reach asia) this is essential.

The best strategy i've came up with is :
    - Always connect capitals to inner cities.
    - Never connect inner cities together. Except for large countries such as Russia, China, USA, ...
    - Pick some well located capitals and make them the "continent capital" all the capitals of this regions should be connected to this one (for Europe, Paris, Rome and Berlin is a good idea)
    - Never add planes, if the planes turn red upgrade it. If it's maxed out, then you can add a plane
    - Connecting 2 continents, start with the 2 major airports. For instance Moscow/Beijin, with 5 maxed airplanes with a regular interval between them. If all of them are red, add a new route for the specific direction (for instance Moscow > Beijin is full red, add Moscow > Tokyo).
    - Always keep a good amount of money in case an event block a big airport to add temporary rerouting
With this strategy, you wont need to upgrade a lot of airports. I unlocked almost all the countries (i had 3 left to buy) but the game bugged and an event that should've give me money made me lost 2 billions$... So i lost.

some tips which will help a lot.
    - Don't add planes, only upgrade, , upgraded planes are faster and have more capacity
    - don't connect cities to Capitals of other countries.,
    - Make hubs like Berlin, Paris, Kiev etc not all capitals need to be hub, they can just have one connection to one of the hub only.
    - For countries with many cities, for example Germany, use one city to connect to Capital. Frankfurt to Berlin and then all small cities to Frankfurt only.
    - because if you make so many connection, then you have to upgrade airports and planes along the whole route.
    - Only add planes when you have huge traffic, like Berlin to Beijing or Moscow, they generate alot of traffic. and upgrade to max
    - Many countries don't have much traffic, like Connect norway, Finland sweden, denmark to one of the airport and then just connect to Berlin,

I just wanted to point out that passengers will only take certain routes to get to their destination, even if other possible routes are available, so strategically limiting the number of paths can reduce the cost of the network and ensure that fast/high capacity planes are being used optimally.
Additionally, after reaching about half of the countries and unlocking several countries in the Americas and most of Asia, the travel time between cities seems to be a major factor in whether you will even be able to complete the "Unlock All Countries" mode as it is right now. With decent play you will probably get 20-30 minutes to your next country unlock but over time you will start losing that advantage you had banked until you get softlocked.

Frankly for the most part knowledge of geography doesn't matter unless you like to travel or are part of a profession that requires it, like government work or military along with being in high level managment for international companies. Realistically what does some random construction worker care about the state of Belarus and Russian cohesion especially since where I am at the border of Poland and Belarus is roughly 70km away at the closest? Even in wartime most people won't be aware of the geographical situations and problems therein because it doesn't affect them. Hell most people can't read a map beyond google maps.
