I recently found your channel. I’ve been riding one bike or another for 50 years. Went through a motorcycle safety course years ago. Watching your channel has helped me realize that through the years I have unfortunately migrated towards some bad habits. Even a veteran rider can use a reality check now and then. Thanks for the wake up call!

Hey Jerry. I actually am a long limbed 6’3”. I own a 2020 softail standard. I immediately put forward controls, pushed the bars forward, and got an aftermarket seat. A tall rider can definitely make this bike comfortable for themself. I am looking for the best solution to the windscreen/fairing. All in all, it’s a great motorcycle. I put stage 1 with Vance and Hines big shots, breather, and tuner. The throttle is so much more crisp now. Keep up the informative videos, love em.

I agree with the suggestion that all manufacturers should offer self- cancelling turn signals. For a novice who forgets it can give oncoming traffic the wrong, well...signal and makes for accidents or close calls!

Count your blessings. On my 83 Low Rider, you have to depress the turn signal button and keep it depressed to signal. (momentary contact). All though, no worry about canceling. Of course, back then, lots of riders removed their turn signal lights. But I totally agree, riding my granddaughters 2020 sporty, the self cancelling signals is a whole lot safer and convenient.

@@jimmin9802 I'm gonna tell you right now that videos don't do the 2-1 bassani road rage short ripper any justice. If you want an idea look at "Put Miles On It" on CZcams. He has the same exhaust on his street bob but he got the blacked out version, i have the stainless. Also Get Lowered has a sound clip of the exhaust on their CZcams channel as well. Keep in mind that videos do not do it justice. If you like an exhaust to be more quiet when idling, its not stock quiet ita still much louder but not annoying, and have it turn into a "ripper" when you get into the higher rpms, i say around 3kish it gets much louder. Its not ear piercing loud at cruising speed like my Vance & Hines big radius on the iron 1200 sportster i had.

How do these air-cooled large twins compare with liquid-cooled large twins? (like Indian scouts, or the totally awesome PanAmerica that should be out soon). Do you prefer the look+sound of air-cooled engines, or do you prefer the higher performance from liquid-cooled engines?

    • @DefZen343

Do you want all the power down low in the Rpms? or you want a lot of power up high in the rev range? max torque on the air cooled bikes is around 3k rpms, very low, Low maintenance too, few short chains inside the engine 😁 mostly gears and pushrods unlike modern engines which have long camchains and balancers. Indians(almost all liquid cooled bikes) need Valve adjustments unlike the Harleys. You want speed, performance and lightweight go water cooled 😁 if you want a great looking and feeling bike that you can lug around at low rpms, go Air cooled. Harley can build bikes that could compete for those under $10k dollars, but their mindset is like many of these prestigious colleges and universities. If you charge more, which projects exclusivity, more people will feel the need to spend the extra, because it's a "Harley Davidson". But they are also the same company trying to shame millienials for not wanting to ride motorcycles to make up for the baby boomers who have and will be aging out of the activity.
