I'm starting to think Stanford Cal Washington State and Oregon State will end up in the ACC West and then there will be Notre Dame and what's left in the ACC East. After what teams go to the SEC and Big ten then the Big 12 will grab four maybe 6 teams. Then what's left will be the ACC.

Ohio State fan in Ohio here. the big 10 would absolutely love to get a foothold in florida, with either fsu, miami, or both. they'd also love to add unc, and maybe ga tech and uva too. the collapse of the acc and the addition of some of the marquee programs to the big 10 would also force notre dame's hand.
the big 10 is in a contest for supremacy with the sec, and those additions would definitely give the big 10 a huge boost in that battle. the big 10 is already a national conference, stretching from LA to NYC, with many massive markets in between, whereas the sec is more of a regional conference. the sec stretches from florida to texas, while the big 10 literally spans coast to coast. now imagine adding fsu/miami/both to the mix. not only would the big 10 stretch from LA to NYC, they'd also stretch from seattle to miami/tallahassee. the already massive media rights deals would be even more massive. the big 10 would be a money making machine. in the long run, that's going to win the war for the big 10.
all of that being said, i think there is a critical mass for conference size. how big can they get, before they start to crumble under their own weight? speaking personally, on my bucket list is to see the Buckeyes play in every big 10 stadium. i've been to 8, with number 9 coming up this year. there was a time not so long ago, when 9 big 10 stadiums meant i'd almost be done, but now it's only halfway. add 4 more schools, and i might not be able to get to all of them. that 9th stadium is autzen, to see the Buckeyes play the ducks. that is surreal to think of oregon as a big 10 conference game.
expanded conferences make for great conference matchups, like Ohio State - oregon, but i think we'll start to miss those traditional matchups, or at least i will. people outside of traditional big 10 territory might not think much of an Ohio State vs illinois, or iowa, or minnesota, or wisconsin, but i love those games. classic, hard-nosed big 10 football at its finest, it's faaannnttastic! with expanded conferences, those games will become fewer and fewer. as it is, Ohio State only has 6 games on their schedule with traditional teams who were big 10 members when i was in high school. as expansion continues, that will inevitably become less. i hope the expansion craze ends soon, before it hits critical mass.

Why would you just want one Florida school? The B10 got USC and UCLA for the state of California! Florida is closer to the main B10 footprint, 3rd largest state, on EST and the 3rd largest state. Miami and FSU may not have the Rose connection as USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington historical! However, Miami and FSU has big game and high stake game history over the last 38 years with Nebraska, Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State. I'm a Miami fan, who has lived in Clearwater/Tampa bay for 20 plus years. I here to tell you, the state Florida is at 23 million and growing daily. It also is full of MidWest and East coast transplants who are B10 fans and alums! Also, if you have Miami and FSU in the B10, it can only help recruiting for the schools not named Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. The kids from here would know, they would play Miami and FSU at home and back home in Florida 2 to 4 times in their college career!

I think Clemson and FSU announce before the August deadline (July is very likely.) I think Finebaum obviously has sources throughout the SEC, he's not their official mouthpiece with a dedicated show on the SEC Network with zero sources. I'm not his biggest fan, but I believe that he forms his opinion based off of the things he hears. That said, I think his constant flip-flopping is deliberate. I think pushing the narrative of Clemson/FSU to the SEC was meant to see if there was any reaction from B1G sources. Likewise, I think his saying that Clemson/FSU doesn't fit into the B1G or that the B1G won't want either school because of their academics (AAU status) is probably meant to discourage the school and make them believe that they only have one real option.
A significant part of Seminole Nation wants to be in the B1G and wants nothing to do with ESPN, but I still believe at the end of the day, the SEC wants Florida State and Clemson. I also believe that they want to get into North Carolina and Virginia and will likely end up with Clemson, FSU, UNC, and Virginia to get to 20.
It makes too much sense from every standpoint for Clemson/FSU to be in the SEC. With the additions of Oklahoma and Texas, and the possible additions of the aforementioned schools, the SEC will get a larger payout than the B1G in the next round of tv deals. Looking at the B1G as paying more (right now) is short sighted.
Not only that, but the B1G has about five decent matchups for FSU (Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, USC) whereas the SEC has like 8 (UGA, Bama, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Florida.) The B1G has a LOT of low end matchups, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, Northwestern, Rutgers whereas the SEC honestly has one, Vanderbilt. Even when you're playing Vanderbilt, at least you get to visit Nashville.
Not to mention, FSU has a LOT more sports than football that has to travel. It would be a lot easier, cheaper, and more competitive with rivalries across the southeast than sending athletes, alumni, boosters, and fans across the country. FSU made the mistake of turning down the SEC in 1990 for academics and money and it was a huge mistake. I hope that they don't do it again.

The ACC is doing business in the State of Florida . College Football is a multi-million $ business in Florida & is subject to Florida Law & he applied North Carolina Law acknowledging Florida’s Jurisdiction in this matter. Unless the ACC wants all their (secrets) open for the world to see. The need to settle quickly because of the Florida Sunshine Law will bring everything to light.
