I just fixed it after watching this video! The hardest part was to put the green clamp back on correctly. I'm so proud of myself(being a female)!😁 Thank you!!!!!
Excellent! I was able to rescue a sink scrubbie out of the filter after watching this video. To get the filter hose back on the pipe to the pump I used a little coconut oil and it went on nice and easy.
I am still not sure if my washer is having this issue or not, it's running a cycle right now so we shall see in about 30 minutes. I hope nothing is wrong with it but if it is having draining issues, now I know where I need to go first to address the problem. Solid video, I appreciate it.
Hey friend, do you know what the model number of that washer is? The numbers have rubbed off on the inside door. I have the same model. I need to find some parts for the suspension system. But I can’t determine the model number. Thank you so much for your assistance
I'm fairly certain the model doesn't matter so much as the Kenmore brand - thank you much for your help and tutorial, so I will repair a problem for a friend tomorrow with the knowledge form this video!
Thank You for this video Recently my Washing Machine wasnt draining for 2 months and today, my father & I were able to unclog the washing machine but got water everywhere on the ground. Overall, We found small items in the tube and the white box. It’s working great now!
Vanessa McCorker 1 second ago is there a hidden spot on there that has the model #? The sellers actually scratched mine off. They would not explain why but admitted to doing it. I have had her since the 2000s and it works very well until it did not. I have that exact one but my dryer is on top of my washer.
Thanks for this video. It's our Kenmore model and exactly what our problem was. Change in the boot. Our has a plastic trap/separator inside the rubber boot. All the change was collected in there.
Dear Sir the model show on the demo i have exacts same unit can you please provide model and serial number for the unit i am not finding on my unit need to order part
Agreed, the green clamps are really difficult to try to move using just your hands. We use a pair of vise grip pliers and the job was much easier. Hope that helps.
Man I was ready to go buy a new one it was here when I bought this house 24 months ago so I have no history with it I go l go to your channel fixed it in 20 minutes thanks so much
Thank you! I had the same model that wasn't spinning out/draining properly - clothes were still pretty sogged. This video helped me locate the pump and coin trap so I could clean it out. I found $2.17 in coins, two of my wife's bra extension thingies, and a bunch of other unidentifiable objects and goo. It now pumps out perfectly. A couple other things that may be helpful to others: *The two screws for the front access panel are SQUARE drive - that's why you had a little trouble using a Phillips bit. *I couldn't figure out how to re-install the coin trap in the tub-to-pump hose. Mine had somehow fallen all the way down into the main chamber. According to this other video, czcams.com/video/53dE7sLBgNE/video.html, the top ring of the filter is supposed to be installed on the third "rib" from the top.
Thanks so much for letting us know the video is helpful. And great tip on the proper type of screw used. Glad you were able to get things fixed and get a few bucks in change in the process :)
Took your advice but removed the entire rubber boot...there is a plastic "filter" inside the boot...its a plastic tube suspended in the boot with several holes at the top to let water run out and solids to fall to its bottom...I had two "colorsafe sheets", 3 quarters, 3 pennies two dimes and dog hair packed solid in this 4 inch tube!!!! not sure how all these items get thru the small drain holes in the washer....must sneak around between the rubber boot and the steel drum???? anyway don't just shake out the boot....take it completely off and clean out the plastic insert that will be crammed full of debris
I had a draining issue as well. There was a face mask and a quarter, a dime, a nickel and two pennies. I would like to add a step that might be helpful though. I had to loosen another clamp located at the top of the filter. It is not green like the others. It is about four inches in diameter and has a Phillips head screw holding it in place. I pulled ot off and reached down in there and found the mask. Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot
@@SarahClarkson1 I wish that it were that easy for us. The only access that we have to the filter is from that back of the machine which gives you a complete reversal of what you're working with.
I had done this to mine and sure enough, was excited to pull out a buch of change. Put it all back together and got same problem. A friend said to look again, I just did, no more obstruction, tube is clear also. I suspect the pump, but anything else left? Could the change have hurt the pump - I'd hope there was a current limit to stop it from keep trying with obstruction.
I'm so sorry to hear that this didn't fix your problem. We caught things early on our washer and were able to clear out that filter before it really affected any of the other parts. If that change been clogging things up for a long time, it may have sent your pump into overdrive and burned it out. Unfortunately, I haven't walked through the process of testing the pump so I can't offer any further advice. Definitely hope you're able to figure things out. Thanks again for watching.
I once had kids sock stock inside water pump propeller. And it wasn't drying just like that. Removing the sock and cleaning rubber hoses that connect to the pump solved the problem for free no parts needed. Right now machines vertical row of green lights blinks 15 times and than beeps once. It still works but I'm trying to find the code to find what needs to be checked.
I have the same EXACT washer. It filled and may have washed/rinsed but the clothes are still soaked. There is no water in the bottom, and the outlet lint sock in the sink is wet, so I think it drained. I tried starting a new cycle but the Start light just flashes continuously (no code) and nothing happens, but I dont hear the door lock, and the door lock LED is off. Interlock switch maybe? Thanks!
@@VileDesecrator Yes, it was the wax motor door interlock switch, fairly easy to replace. Went to a supply house, they told me it was the most common replacement for these.
Very helpful - I was able to fix my draining problem and saved the money and hassle of a service call. The main issue for me is the retaining screws for the bottom panel. Very little room to work and tilting the unit back is not possible. I was able to get the screws out but I can't get them back in. Anyone else have this problem?
Adding my thanks! I have a completely different filter/pump design in my front-loader, but this video helped me figure it all out. (BTW, for anyone else who has a 2008is unit, there is actually a large "plug" on the front. Open that easy peasy! No clamp removal required.)
I've got a baffling water problem with this machine. I hope TechTalk can give me some insight. I had no problems the last time I ran a load of laundry. The clothing were rinsed properly and wrung out completely and I put them in the dryer with no issues. My habit is that I leave the front door open in between loads to avoid musty smells. 4 days after my last load I noticed water had spilled out of the tub and onto the floor in front of the machine. I looked inside and water had filled the bottom of the tub deep enough that it had overflowed and spilled out the front door. This is clean water. It isn't residual water from the previous wash. My question is this: Does Tech Talk's repairman happen to know how water could flow INTO this machine when it isn't running?
Thanks. The consumers power “repair man” said there wasn’t a filter, stared at my washer for one minute with only water spinning in it, and told me to just adjust the load. I knew he was full of crap.
no spin? Ours was too. turned out that one of the wires of the drain pump broke loose. Installed new pump. BTW using spring clamp pliers that locked made removing and replacing the clamp much easier.
How in the hell are you supposed to safely lift the washing machine up? I have a bum shoulder thanks to a rotator injury so I need any advice I can get to get this thing up
So, the clamp is a bitch to remove. And you usually will have to completely remove the rubber piece to get everything out because THAT is where it gets clogged because there are tiny filters within it, that catch everything before getting to anything else.
Meh. Mine looks identical to this except the front seems to be one solid piece. The bottom panel you remove can't be removed the same way on mine. And I'll never understand why they hide model numbers on appliances...
Sorry to hear that you're having problems. They definitely don't make the process easy. Sounds like it's even worse to access the filter when you don't have the access panel.
Doesn’t show any of the tough steps. Put a towel down BEFORE opening clamp, there will be a lot if water draining. Also, accessing the pump- you’re much better off just replacing it since the propeller tends to break. The pumps are $40-$60 on Amazon. I’ve replaced the pump on my front loader 3 times and it’s still working great after 16 years.
So you made a video showing what MAY be the problem but you didn't think it was important to reassemble the parts you removed and cleaned and see if the machine worked.................brilliant.
