I'm in love with this character design, if you cut all shields by 75% so its not so brokenly op, this would be a perfect character.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Reaper changes either, but I think it's somewhat necessary. Considering we want more tanks in the game, there need to be better ways to deal with them. Tank busters are necessary in order to add more tanks. Overall I'm ok with Reaper now, and I'm a Reinhardt main

What if when she went pilot mode, she had some sort of shotgun or revolver type gun, instead of the pistol?
As usual, AMAZING hero concept. My one concern is that the HUD will be too crowded by all of the shields and recharges. Otherwise I like the room for different types of play styles with this hero. You could run her like an offensive Zarya, play defensive like Brig, and even semi-replace the healer role in your team composition.
Yeah, I considered that issue with too many things on the HUD. I think if the shield charge was placed near the health bar like Wrecking Ball's Adaptive Shield indicator, and then Plasma Burner didn't have an actual meter but rather just showed warnings when getting too hot, then it could work without too much clutter.

It's honestly reassuring that I also thought up a tank character with self-burning when doing damage and a shield projecting ability (the Hestia thing I sent on Twitter), because it feels far less stupid when it's thought out properly 😂

There are _way_ too many utilities poured into this build, especially ones that contradict themselves. You've rolled in the _strongest_ parts of Winston, Zarya, Hammond, and Reinhardt in just the _base_ abilities, but in such a way that none of them really work together because of the limitations of the design. The idea behind hero design is not to make someone do _everything_ it's to make them fill a certain roll that allows teammates to support them _or_ to make them a glass canon in that they must survive on their own but if they're clumsy about it they will die _quickly_ regardless of role (hence why Hammond works so well as a tank despite being a glass canon; if you don't know what you're doing you feed you're head off, if you do you're a constant distraction always creating space by occupying attention and physically moving enemies out of the way).
You have presented a FLYING 700 health 100dps _main_ tank that can essentially self heal as well as go up to *1000* health and turn _any_ squishy immediately into a tank that would simultaneously _deny_ ally and enemy ult charge by toggling shields screwing up the entire ult economy of the game, while also not being able to hold their ground statically nor mobile enough to move with faster pace heroes making virtually no one able to help them as this tanks rhythm doesn't synergize with any other hero in the game. This...this is not a good idea. 13:41 "Making her nearly unstoppable during her rampage," but not being able to close distance to make any use of it? That's like McCree's ult all over again best used by not using it.
So far all of your tank concepts seem far too focused on a _healers_ job and not a _tanks_ job. A main tank makes space, throwing extra health on your team doesn't give them "space" it gives them heals (regardless if it's in the form of shields, armor, or straight health). Rein's space making tools are his Hammer (can boop people away slightly and threatens close range engagements as it's also cleave damage), his Shield (denying the space behind it from enemy LoS), and his Charge (booping and forcing enemies to choose to either chase him or engage on his team). Winston makes space almost _solely_ with his own body; the pressure presented by the cleave damage his Telsa Canon does as well as the burst AoE damage of his leap is nothing to sniff at if your caught alone. However on the flip side of that, if _he_ dives alone he is _incredibly_ vulnerable especially if he doesn't manage his cooldowns well to the point where he will almost always die. An off tank support the main tank or team with peeling and/or area denial. Zarya peels with her personal and team bubble and denies area with her damage, D.Va denies area with her mobility and rockets and peels with her defense matrix. Roadhog is the odd duck out in that he's really just a bullet sponge and can only really area deny, he has virtually no peel potential.
You don't want a hero of any kind that can do it all, you want a hero that can do 1 or 2 things really well, that fills a specific role (newly created or otherwise, like with Hammond or Orisa) whose weaknesses can be made up for by the rest of your team. It's why every tank _except_ Roadhog is incredibly popular, because Roadhog's design tries to make him do it all (heal, damage, area control, and tank) but is left doing everything mediocrely so as not to throw everything out of balance. He has his places but it's precisely why he's not popular despite on paper having a very loaded kit. Because he tries to do it all but at a pace and a way that doesn't synergize well with _a lot_ of other heroes, so he's just a beefy slightly less effective dps than a tank. Brutally honest, I don't see this design making space, and I don't see this design peeling; I see this design _healing_ a shit ton in an extremely clunky way making it more support than tank in the same way that Roadhog is a clunky DPS more than he his a tank.
I got a little pissed when you talked about mcrees ult. I have gotten plenty of team kills with him and his ult thank you
@@nickwasheredf I'm not saying you can't get use out of it (like the proposed ultimate), I'm saying the game actively works against you to do it. You become a glowing beacon and are near static for up to 6 seconds; in anything above plat standing still for even 2 seconds is a near death sentence. It's why Pharah's ult normally winds up sounding like "Justice RAINS FROM AB-- AAAAAH!" That's why I'm saying it's really not a great ult, and it's _usually_ better not to use it because it puts you at more of a disadvantage than advantage most of the time.

@@nickwasheredf But its true. From high Diamond and up, McCree's ult is useless since people can kill you easily. Its used for reloading the peacekeeper.
One way I could see them working with D.Mon's huge size and also adding unique mechanics to her kit is that while her abilities are powerful, they could be "disabled" by targeting different parts of the mech. To put simply, by damaging the main portion of D.Mon, aka her torso and cockpit, you deal damage to her health pool, but by hitting her arms and legs and boosters, you hit an entirely different heal bar. These sections could be simply destroyed forever or more likely, set "offline" where there's a set time for them to regenerate or they can be healed. This would also provide balance to her kit then, making it so that while her abilities are powerful, by coordinating team attacks on her different attacks and abilities, you could then weaken her by removing those sections.
These hero concept videos are amazing. I especially like the visuals you bring to show us everything. It makes stuff really clear.
I think that if the MEKA squad is implemented they need to be designed in a way that allow them to successfully play in the same team and to synergize with the other MEKA members

I'm pretty sure they have a lot of heroe ideas too but it takes years for them to make them. But yea he's really good a making concepts.

I would like to see a hero with the ability to deal damage and transfer it into shields for another hero this would be because this hero would uses drones
There could be a reason why there isn't any pilot mode, for example:
In the lore if dva's meka has a critical issue, if her meka takes to much damage it self destructs. If demon's meka is destructed it starts her passive, an explosion that kills d.mon and it causes 75 dps for 5 seconds if the enemy stays in the area that d.mon's meka died.

Storyline I think she is going to be a part of Talon. D.MON will take all of the other Meka parts from her former team to help out and develop the Tank for Talon. Like Kings Rocket launcher, Casino Speed.and Overlords front-mounted laser cannon.
Master Ian Gamer : I think your allied shield concept would work better for Hammond since he is the worst Tank in the game. He doesn’t do as much damage as Roadhog, Zarya, or DVA, nor does he help the team as much.
Cool concept! While the multiple shield concepts may be a little too complicated for Overwatch, it is still a really cool idea! I love the plasma flamethrower and Zarya-like health shield. Surprisingly balanced.

I really like the resource mechanic and shielding idea, its a much funner way to provide shields than Syms old E ability. On that note, I believe Syms old E could only give 50 shields specifically because of Tracer becoming too strong with too much life. So I think D.mon's would also have a similar limitation, even if it only provided 50 per affected ally it would still be really good.
I don't think plasma burner needs to do extra damage to barriers because no one would want to play any other main tank against her, I think just having a large cone of damage in front of her is really good as is.

I actually love this concept. It’s really unique and I’d love to try picking up this character. The only thing I’d change is that instead of a vertical flight it’s used more as a horizontal thruster and can potentially be used as a vertical when pressing the jump button and standing still. But any directional movement will move you in that direction.

What if an ability for a support hero would be called a "soft lock" The ability would counteract crowd control by locking the hero to the ground and not allowing to be booped. It would be an item deployed like Britettes armor and would behave sort of like a piece of terrain, unmovable but damageable. I call it a soft lock because it would lock the hero to the ground, but allow it to still walk normally, Hard lock would be like Mei's freezing. I hope you read this comment and maybe put it into a hero concept video, but its just an idea.

The story is slowing down and getting boring. The last few heroes have been reflecting that.
Characters like sombra, doomfist, orisa, Moira were new and creative with some great stories.
Characters like brig and Ashe are kinda lazy and bland, just joining in on already existing lore without adding anything.
We known pretty much everything about the mekka squad already. There is no new lore or information to be added unless they want to create an entire story arc within.
Adding Meka squad members would be as boring as adding soldier 78,65,47etc.
Monkey Mode that is true that we do need some more heroes that aren’t already existing and add more to the lore, however if they were to do another member of the Meka squad, Blizzard could do something to advance the lore; if we get another Meka squad, it could tie in D.va into the lore of overwatch rather then her making her just a figure against the omnics. Additionally, if Demon were to become a hero, it would be interesting if she was not exactly the perfect lawful good that we see in Dva, and rather a more chaotic good or even a chaotic neutral. In conclusion I understand where your coming from and I do agree that Blizzard needs to give us more diversity in the lore of heroes, but they could take existing ideas, like Demon, and turn them into a lore advancing figure.

When you said about Beast Aura synergy with the shield is just like Zaryas bubbles, i immediately thought that nobody would shoot the shield. Ranged dps like Hanzo and Widow, or even Pharah will pick off your teammates too easily due to lack of straight up protection and space creation Rein gives.
If D.mon would ever be an actual character than me and my friend (he mains D.va) could be the two men tanks of the team, this would be amazing!

omg i was looking around the busan place and i was at the place where all the mekas are and i noticed that D.mon has a desk and a chair with a couple of tools on it...so she could’ve been working on it meaning she was there at some point while the rest of the mechs look untouched (besides dvas who’s meka isn’t there)

This is a very creative concept. My favorite part of any new hero is the new abilities and I love how this concept has little to no cool down; rather, it's all about timing and strategy. Good job.

I don't think it's very overpowered, as some are claiming, due to her incredible lack of mobility. Even outside Beast Mode, D.MON would be incredibly vulnerable to ranged fire and be a bit of a walking ult battery, similar to Roadhog, with no way to pressure opponents from range. I think she would work well in a specific niche and have good counterplay with the current roster.
An art change I would push to the character, though, is that when D.MON is using her Concussive Boost, the mech's hands should have jets coming out of them in addition to her feet, a la OG Iron Man. This communicates why she can't use her primary or secondary fire while boosting (otherwise from an art/lore perspective it doesn't make clear sense why she couldn't just shield or attack while boosting), but it also feels more believable to me that she could lift that enormous mech with more thrust, plus it's rad like Iron Man.
I have no idea how this hero would play or be balanced but I do very much like the creative way to make a MT without just being a barrier tank and the jump boots are something I have mentioned need to be on the next tank already. We need an MT that can get to some high ground but without being so mobile they just add to the dive meta. This hero would be fun as hell to play around with in a PTR like environment and see how it plays out.

This sounds really fun to play, I've been wanting more tank options, and having shielding that is weaker but protects from attacks from all directions makes for a unique take on a shield hero.

I think the only thing id change is that the shields from Beastly Aura would be from a single health pool, so that if a single ally takes 50 damage, for example, the entirety of the people affected by beastly aura would too. However because of this, allies who walk into beastly aura range get the shields too.

I want her shield to be able to do one more thing. She could throw her green shield like a projectile into the distance like Captain America's shield and will plant itself like an Orisa Shield. But it is only big enough to protect one person. I think that will complement Tracers and Genjis that are pressured in the far distance. I feel like that is a nice little element for a little more interplay. Long cool downs and it leaves you open for headshots though.

At first i was kinda scared because i though her boosters Would be too similar to dva and make her too mobile.
But with her sheild basically being a necessary thing for survival and victory in my eyes with this character, i really like that you made her quite slow when using it.
I’d Maybe add like a 1 second cooldown to the sheild so she cant spam it like rein or brig and becomes more in line with a zarya, dva (short cooldown), rein and lucio
(with belastat aura) combo.
Maybe isn’t needed but it Would Maybe work. Idk acctually if it Would be needed but you’re the One who calls the shots.

Another form of tanking would be bodyguards where a tank can only protect another hero but really good and it would become less effective the more teammates are near you. That could bring dive back or create another play style.

Btw, a good thing that I’ve wanted a robot character to have for a while is that I think when she’s hacked, her mech will go like Bob when hacked, and she will be incapable of moving when hacked, but she has to be headshot/critical shot to be put to sleep, and when asleep, D.MON should fall asleep, while her Mech goes Idle. I feel like this would be a good balance for her, since she is a good character, and I feel like she would be the first robot character other than bob, in game, that their mech shuts down whenever she’s hacked. Just an idea. Good concept though!

Way too little shield for an ultimate ability, as well as disables one of his more useful abilities. Just seems undermining
Milo Well symmetras old ult gave everyone 75 shields so I think that's fair and syms ult was decently powerful so yeah. the venom splash might be able to go through the barrier I could see that
I like the idea but it seems overwhelming to play. Any other character with a resource meter only has one to manage (besides cooldowns); D.mon has to manage primary overheat, secondary barrier health, and allied shield meter. I like the idea of a personal barrier remotely protecting teammates but it needs to be streamlined, 3 resource meters will clutter the HUD and be a lot to manage.
The concussive boost is also out of place. She hovers above (& away) from her team to... become a floating critbox? This doesn’t seem to benefit her or her teammates much.

this hero is really good although but instead of beastly aura which would cause to many slow recharging abilities the flamethrower should be made a short burst with a burn effect like ashes dynamite but a damage output that could be used similar to micro-missies and the primary fire should be similar to soldiers gun but slower firing and it would have a clip of about 15. This character seems very close range brawl and in this meta that's exact opposite of what we need. Take my advice with a grain of salt though because I've only played about 600 levels of overwatch and I'm in Plat. Plat Chat FTW!!!

The sheer size is probably too big of a problem, though. (mobility, glitching through walls, blocking vision for all other players, ...)
I personally think D.VA should remain the only playable character of the MEKA-Squad, but I would like to see the others in cinematic action for sure.

She could have a mobility form and attack form, mobility form would make her meka get on all fours and is much faster in this form but can only use her melee this would also make her smaller since she is basically crouching she would be able to get through doorways this way, and combat form is where she can stand up normally and use all of her abilities and primary fire but cannot fit through doorways whilst in combat form since she is too tall
