FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video! - Jak na to + styl
I totally feel the same way that Gary Gatto feels about todays generation. My tears come from the beautiful memories of my beautiful mother and grandmother. So many similarities, the way Grandma Gina speaks, the dishes that she cooks and bakes, and the passion she has that just oozes from her heart. I'm 100% Italian on both my father and mother's side and raised in a family with old world customs that I cherish and still keep alive today. I would love to meet this amazing lady as well. She is so talented, so genuine, so caring, so beautiful and so, so, so, loved!!!
It's 2:00am, and now after watching this beautiful lady cook.. I'm starving.. God Bless you Gina.
The world is a better place because of you , when my 14 yr old granddaughter is visiting she ask if we can watch " the Italian grandmother " video together we love you Gina , God bless you
Here I sit at 10:30PM CST,...watching Gina once again knock it out of the park!
With all of the cooking shows on TV and the Internet and all of the hoopla, gimmicks and flashy music that surround those programs,..... here I sit enjoying this internet channel more than all of the other nonsense and fluff out there combined! THIS is what a cooking show SHOULD BE! Gina,..you are the best! It seems odd that a 55-year-old Italian man like myself is just so enamored with your channel here! Keep up the great work and don't ever change; it's you we all come to see! Your cooking is a BONUS!
Need to put a cook book together. I definitely would buy it. Thank you
Dawn Gonzales me too!
That's a great idea!
@@kim94503 Me too!
Oh def.. im on roll watching her videos..
I'm almost 50 with my first grandchild on the way... and I want to be Grandma Gina when I grow up!
Ciao nonna Gina, sei stata bravissima ❤️ come sempre🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
I just discovered you! My Nonna came to Canada from Pescina Abruzzo Italy when my Dad was 5.
She passed 11 years ago and I miss her so. I think of her every day. And of all the beautiful food she made that made us feel so loved and nourished. Thank-you Nona Gina for sharing. Just hearing your voice is making me feel like I can hear my Nonna.
Love and God bless xo
Jessica
Love watching this lady she is very sweet and genuine .
I don’t understand why some people can be so evil starting a rumor that Gina has passed away what has she ever done except cooking and being so happy.
When you don’t give things like that your attention....The objective is not met.
I haven’t heard that. Wherever it originated; it could have began as a simple comment or question about something completely unrelated, and the more it moves around......Well; we all know how “Telephone” works...(or doesn’t work). And that’s the life of a rumor.
If YOU never repeat it, it stalls and dies!(No pun intended).
People that do that are usually people that have no accomplishments in their life. They have very jealous unsettled minds and are usually very unhappy people.
Wtf 😠
Omg I didn't hear that stuip jealous people xxx ooo

“My hands, itsa cleana!” I freakin love this! I can’t wait for her to say it every time!
Hi I am Hannah I am 17. I have Italian in me, 25%. My mom has 50% and grandpa has 100%. My mom works so I want to start making her and my dad and brother Italian dishes because I love it. Thank you for teaching me
What a beautiful thing to do for your family. We all need to help to keep the family happy. God Bless!
I would love to share a dinner with this wonderful lady.God Bless you Miss Gina.
When I watch you, tears come to my eyes because I’m looking at something that’s a passing thing nobody wants to cook for their family anymore. If it doesn’t come out of a plastic bag can a box it just doesn’t get done. God bless you dear lady.
Ciao Bella Gina, please don’t take heart to all these people criticising how you have cooked. La Mia mamma e di provincia di foggia e la Mia mamma would make la bisteca pizzialo which was always a treat. Keep on cooking the way you do as I am remembering how my mum would cook prior to passing away. Ti amo molto mamma Gina.
Amen
Amen
No matter where they are, all Italian grandmas are amazingly the same beautiful human beings! Miss my grandmas but it's heartwarming to watch Nonna Gina! Buon anno from Italy 🇮🇹
Grandma Gina; You are the best ever!!!
Hi Gina I hope you have gone to visit your homeland ever since your arrival in US decades ago. I sense a kind of ‘ homesickness’ in you from some of your videos. Hopefully there are still some friends and relatives over there who can welcome you on your visit and help you go down memory lane. Take care and God Bless Gina!
Thank you very much Grandma for the information for growing basilica, it reassured me so when I buy the small plants I will leave them in the original small pot. Thank you so very much for all the beautiful meals that you cook so we can cook ourselves for our family. Please continue to teach us, I learned so much. Love you Grandma Gina. Roseline, Quebec
I am part Italian myself, which absolutely means nothing but I just wanted to tell you, dear lady I love you the most I love you, the most, your truly the greatest generation
I love u Gina...........you remind me so much of my grandmother. (ma)
Aw I just love this lady! I wish that I could cook like mama Gina. I love all of her delicious authentic dishes. And, that accent just melts my ❤️
Awwww!the music 🎶 seeing Nonna Gina and the amazing, wonderful, recipe and a song🎶a story😅sending you sooo many hugs...May God continue to Bless you and your family ❣️🙏🏻😘
I could watch her for hours and hours and hours and hours - so humble and so real! This is authentic cooking!
Oh, Ms. Gina, how we love and adore you! God bless you and your family. 💓
I haven't said this in a long time because it breaks my heart to this day, but Gina, you remind me so much of my Nonna. She along with my Mother, taught me everything about cooking, gardening, and family. She was a saint and I hurt every day for her. Thank you for bringing back the memories. Watching your videos is like watching her. We had a full family restaurant, and she would walk behind everybody with an apron pocket filled with salt. When someone would walk away from a dish, she would add more salt to everyone's dish. My uncles and Aunts would yell, in a loving way, to stop adding the salt!!! Then the arguments would start in Italian!!! Lol!!!
Can't wait to try this dish .
The folks that pushed the thumbs down .
Please post your recipe for this dish .
I would like to try yours also .
I miss my Grandma. I love your videos. Reminds me of my own Grams! Miss you Jessie and Josie

Watching Nonna Gina, and even more, listening to her accent, brings me to tears, a mix of joy and sadness. I am first Gen Italian American, everyone from the "Old Country " is gone. I am now the oldest. Thankfully I have cugini that love me! I moved to Italy last year! Now I am the one with an accent!
Your family is so lucky to have you! I know they know this. Happy New Year, Grandma Gina. Please know how much so many of us care about you! 💓
Grandma Gina! I just had the pleasure of finding your channel.... I just made this recipe for the first time Friday night for dinner & the wifey and kids demanded that I make it for Sunday dinner! It is so wonderfully delicious & I want to thx you! 😊😚
The highest concentration of Italians in the US is NJ and NY and living in NJ I remember Sunday supper with a big pot of sauce (we called it gravy) and all the meats. Miss that part of life.
I wish I was in her kitchen. She reminds me of my dear grandma.
I love the way she says oil. Olio. LOL so sweet.
Cause "olio" is italian for "oil"
Very delicious Mama Gina may God gives you healthy and lengthy days ala salut👌👌👌👌👌
Happy New Year, Nonna/Grandma Gina! May God grant you many years of good health and happiness. You are so wonderful. I have just discovered your channel recently and I have watched almost all your videos now. You are an inspiration! I hope your family is well. God bless them all and may they continue to help you make beautiful videos. I pray we see more videos again soon. You remind me of my beautiful mama who passed away 15 years ago. Your faith and love of family are incredible. God bless you always.

Hope you can upload the Feast of Seven Fishes, for us before Christmas. Pat-South Padre Island, Texas
The traditional meal for Christmas Eve at my house was only two types of fish, Baccala and Eel. Fish was difficult to get in my town when i was a young girl. Here is a link to that video:

Just made this for dinner tonight. Fantastic flavor Gina! Simple dish but bursting with flavor! My father who was born in Abbruzzo LOVED it. He said it reminded him of his mother’s pizzaiola. Buonissimo!

I have just starting watching these cooking shows and I love them!!! Made the spaghetti alla carbonara last night for my sister and brother-in-law who came to our house. My sister loved it so much she said that it was better than any restaurants dish. I agreed with her. Can't wait now to try other recipes of hers. I suspect all will be spectacular!!
I was looking for a veal scallopini recipe I have mad before from the Joy of Cooking. My book is packed away, so I was online trying to find out if someone had posted the recipe. Well, I stumbled upon this video instead - and I’m feeling so blessed! I fell in love with grandma Petitti! She is a joy to behold! She really knows her stuff. Thank you so much for making a video preparing traditional veal scallopini! I have a new Italian range being installed this week, to replace the old Frigidaire one that we had installed in 2005. The first meal I made on the Frigidaire range, was back in the day, was veal scallopini! So I want to keep with tradition, especially since my new range from Hallman Industries was made in Italy! I’m so excited! I subscribed to your channel, grandma, because I hope to make other meals with your guidance! Thank you so much!
Hi! I made the dish - and it came out exactly the way grandmother made it!! Thank you so much!!
OK, this just in! My son and his girlfriend stopped by and my beautiful veal scallopini was on the stove. They had some for dinner and they thought it was the best veal scallopini they had ever tasted in their entire lives! My son asked for the recipe so I am sending this link to him! Thank you again! So good!
Thankyou so much to charing your recipes with others . May God bless you.
Gina, you are the sweetest Grandma...and such a great cook!!
