  • In Chengdu, China, Enbo MMA Club has become a home for orphans and kids from impoverished homes who come to train as mixed martial arts experts. The club's founder, Mr. Enbo, has trained hundreds of young fighters free of charge, like Banma Duoji, an 18-year-old who grew up poor in a single-parent home in Tibet.
On this episode of 'VICE INTL,' Banma explains how he ended up at the club, and how Enbo has become a father figure who's helped him turn into one of the group's fiercest fighters. Then we follow Banma as he trains for a big pro match, where the "Prince of Fighters" looks to maintain his impressive five-fight winning streak.

      VICE
This is actually REALLY Cool because anybody can simply watch some MMA fights or choose favorites based on simply the Persons Fighting Skills or even the amount of Fame, (or Infamy), a Name has such as McGregor or Anderson Silva for example.
But unless your a avid Fan of MMA and specifically look up backgrounds or Histories of Fighters, not alot of people actually get to see how different Fighters really are ethnically and Mentally and what led them to MMA and the reason they chose the Blood Sport amongst all the other things out there to choose from.
Really Great Video and you definitely earned my "Thumbs Up" for the Video. 👍

Everybody gravitates towards the path that is best suited to their skills, intelligence, and work ethic. If you like math maybe you go into accounting or physics. If your good at fixing or building things maybe you become a mechanic or architect. If you can tolerate blood and like helping the sick you become a doctor. Whatever it takes to survive, just like these Chinese kids. I hope the UFC will visit their fight club.

They are not just doing it because they have nothing better to do, they are actually trying to provide for themselves, their family and escape the sad life they would otherwise have. So many of us can't imagine living the way these people do and I feel nothing but deep respect for all of them!

For starters this kid is from tibet which china took over, destroying the culture and family life. Then you have the issue that these children are poor and or orphans were the only way out is to fight other poor orphans? Now you have children fighting in the fields of sorrow, either from being impoverished or without parents among other things, learning to fight in a cage until their body is broken... there is plenty more to go on...

Yeah. I agree. I really enjoyed this video because it’s so realistic. I don’t travel a lot so I don’t have the opportunity to meet people from different countries, cities, towns.. different family backgrounds even. It’s really amazing to be able to see a tiny snippet of someone’s life. You really start to look at your life after this. I just find it fascinating how every single person is brought up differently in different situations. These are the things that shape a person’s mind and character, after all.

I think what the other person is saying yes he’s getting them out... but in reality he’s trying to train some kids to fight n hoping they will make him money, it’s not that he opened a missionary or a ministry safe haven like we have in the states and is helping and raising money for children, he’s teaching them to fight lol because of the standards in the us you will really never have a situation like this, while it’s cool in me vies, if someone was raising kids to fight and giving them all they needed to survive Americans would probably protest it. It’s kind of like when we hear if child labor in China, them were like oh no that’s not good! Lol but I’m from Europe I worked hard as a kid so for me it’s w.e I was able to stay home alone at an early age like 5 lol 😂 I was able to buy cigs and alcohol for my parents too at that age but in America that’s crazy. I understand that some people's opinion on that everyone should go through the full education system, but for these kids it's not about being put into a box and get a degree to be a socially accepted white collar, MMA is a sport and for someone who truly wants to pursue a career in this, it is best for them to be trained professionally and forcus on their goals. Some people never even find their true goal in life or what they actually want to achieve so don't just look at them with pity. sorry for the rant.

I wish we could hear more about them, I would be so happy. The latest news don’t say much but the fact they reopened in a mall. These guys’ stories were very touching, it would be so sad if they lost what they have been working hard on for years when the gym got closed. I truly hope they’re doing well.

This guy doesn't have to help these kids and these kids don't have to stay at the gym but they both choose to teach and train. We need more people like these folks in the world. They're the ones making the difference, not the billionaires and corporations. Wee definitely need to start looking towards taking care and helping each other anyway since we have no idea what's going to be happening over the next 4 years.

Desperation = panic = fear of failure which in the end creates a weaker mentality. For example Cus D amato created a monster of a champion Mike Tyson, he did this through a very complicated and strong mentality which broke his opponents before they even fought. Fighting is 90% mentality 10% physical- GSP. At the top level it is all about the mental capacity and strength, any drop of fear will create hesitation which means weakness. Also the UFC have far better training facilities. Street fights? The best martial artists/ fighters knows how to avoid fights out of the arena/sport.

Eos Prodromos, he's not in Tibet, he lives in Henan which is eastern China. Also, Tibet is in China and why shouldn't people in China speak Chinese?
Edit: One more point, Banma stated that he didn't know how to speak or read Chinese even when he was primary school age. This means that he learned Tibetan as a child and there was no problem just communicating and living in Tibet using Tibetan language. Isn't this evidence to show that Chinese government doesn't force people to stop speaking Tibetan/force people to speak Chinese? Tibetans are not as oppressed by the government as many sensational media makes them out to be. Ultimately, even if Chinese government requires Tibetans to learn Chinese I don't see how that is in any way a detriment to them, it will only benefit them in the long run.

And actually there're so many different dialects in our country, we couldn't even understand dialects from other region. So all educated people can speak Mandarin(Beijing dialect). But if they only live in their own region, they don't have to. That's also why we have huge cultural differences in one country, so foreigners think we are not one country.
