Can't agree with this. First the root of the problem is an issue they created. They make it almost impossible for someone to get to the latest content without rmting whether its through the cash shop or from some other avenue. Then they refused to get rid of the bots that destroyed the markets early making it impossible for free to play players to make any type of legitimate currency in game. To punish people who found a way to play the game when SG and AGS intentionally made it near impossible they should not be punished badly for this. Instead fix the game first. Make it so you don't have to swipe to reach the latest content. Then put a statement out saying that any RMT from here on out will be met with severe punishment. All while keeping the bots away. Its insane to me that people think RMT is the only issue. They are literally diverting your attention away from the core issue. Sped up release dates for all content without the proper compensation in rewards for that missed time. FIX the game then talk about banning actual players. I think it will be so fun if they do ban all the RMTers doing normal akkans with the F2P players left.
i really don't agree that it's impossible to reach end game without swiping if you want the whole roster to be at end game then yeah sure but if you want 1character to be at end game it's definitely possible to do it f2p

Then add the time it takes to actually get a fully functioning roster, which can easily be another 50 weeks, and the time it takes for you to get enough horizontal progress. So we are left with over 100 weeks of uninterrupted grinding to get ONE character to HM Thae, with absolutely no guarantee that you'll have LOS30 at that point, and absolutely no guarantee that you'll even be strong enough to get accepted. Make sure you don't main swap btw, because how dare you be interested in multiple classes.
Maybe if the game rewarded players more for more time, there wouldn't need to rmt. The amount of time I;ve played lost ark in the past months since the mokoko express on November, is absurd. And I'm still suffering from gatekeeping, still missing LOS18, and a lot of other things. If i didnt have friends in endgame helping me, I would be gone by now. Because I wouldn't be able to interact with the game. Long time lost ark players do not understand the severity of the gatekeeping and how overwhelming it is for new players and on top of that, the game caps your progress? Naah some of us do want to play 16hours a day and reach endgame fast but you cant really do that. In bdo you can play forever and grind in circles for 20k hours until you reach endgame. Progression rate is different but atleast you feel rewarded for your time and not weekly capped.
The real question is why does it cost $10k+ to even get close to maxing out ONE character without RMTing. Brother, if I spend even just $1k on pixels, my pixels better be as strong as they can possibly be. The only reason there is a market for RMTing is because every single player in the world knows that gold costs too much. Imagine if swiping actually meant something - their profits would explode. Instead, we have to choose between getting a loan to participate in the video game, or waiting 2 years to play content released today. If you RMT, I fully support you. The core problems of any MMO that is riddled with RMT is that the game itself is set up to be a super grind or you pay with MTX via in-game shop to progress faster. It's pretty much the model of every F2P MMO these days, even moreso for KRMMO's. They created their own beast. Even perma banning offenders isn't going to do anything because the core design of the game makes RMT extremely profitable due to the grind vs reward. A lot of players seem to tout that RMT is super bad, it is, but it has gained an extremely high following over the last 30 years. Why? Game design. If players truly want RMT to not be a thing ... stop buying into the fact that you have to have an MMO that is an uber grind to get to end-game. OR that you HAVE to have progression systems so tied to RNG that people may not get to play endgame without having the psychological manipulation of peer pressure putting them into a swipe or don't play with friends situation. I'd say it's just as much on the players over the years making this model of game popular as it is on the companies for building games that take advantage of manipulative tactics like creating economic environments that encourages the behavior. It's not even about harsh punishment. Until the game design as a whole genre stops this, not only is it never going to stop ... it's going to continue to get worse just as it has over the last 30 years.
Tera used to take away all the gold you RMTd, they didn't even ban you. Just took everything away, your account would be in the negatives very often. Cautty should have reported his friends if he has proof the RMTd, be the change you want to see. To solve RMT ags needs to ban the sellers as well, there are a lot of players that sell the gold they earned from raids/ bussing to the bot sites and RMTers. These people make it harder for ags to track botted gold.
I am glad there are bots there is no way in NA to keep up with the progression in this game. If they helped payers by getting more gold and actually help with honing costs etc than no one would need to RMT.
i think part of the reason RMT players exist is because of the bots and the lack of value in items that bots farm. this makes the pace a lot slower than intended because we get less value from AH for gold to use to push and hone and enjoy the content. i think the existence of bots and the lack of content that is farmable for a flat gold reward rather than items that you have to farm giving you a fraction of the true value of these items. They need to have set values for how much you can post items for to prevent people being able to buy gold and they need to give gold to the player more to decrease the value of RMT gold and make it not worth it to even sell gold.

I had no idea how common that was until one of the guys from another server that hangs out in our discord talked openly of it; turns out I guess everyone but me was doing it all along. They get a geforce now account to avoid detection and just automate their chaos dungeons and lopangs but are careful a bout how often they run infinite chaos. Apparently just one or two nights a week of several hours of infinite chaos results in a few million card xp per month.
Rmt keeps this game alive. No one is going to spend their money in the cash shop for a1/4 of the gold they would get from rmt. If they get rid of that no one can aford to hone and reach the content at the pace they are pushing it. I know for a fact everyone over 1630 right now in the game has rmt or is some sort of streamer cause its all basicaly a tac right off so they get their money back.
