If the idea with the plastic is to suppress weed growth, no dirt should be on top of the plastic. Also black perferated plastic works best because it keeps the sun from reaching the soil. Google Arizona rock landscaping ideas.
You can cut a hole in the mesh later for any planting needs.

A siphon is a hose or pipe that can move liquid from a reservoir via a higher point into a lower reservoir, without the need for pumping. The assumption is that the higher part of the pipe is already filled with liquid.

We just kept it very low-key. I’m not a fan of mixing religion with business, and most of the house blessings I see in Thailand are exactly that. Or they’re an excuse for a load of ppl you never usually say hello to, to have a free lunch at my expense 😆
