Thanks for showing the "hard" time consuming and perplexing problems - not just skirting past them like so many other videos.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this video. I just went through the same process of replacing a tilt assist with a power tilt and trim. I watched the whole video and the wiring sequences multiple times in order to understand how to do it since my wiring harness is a little different from yours. I didn't even know what I needed to do this until I watched you go through it. But I figured it out thanks to your video and everything works great. I hate to think about how this would have gone if I hadn't found your video. Great job!

Hi Brandon! You didn't happen to keep that tilt assist set up??? Lol I have owned my 90 40 hp Evinrude since it was new. I have managed to keep it operating (mostly) since then, up until now! So if you do have it? setowzer@gmail.com. Really appreciate your Channel!!! Thanks!

It always helps to be stubborn and not let something like a stuck bolt or in this case, a rod, defeat you. Nice work getting that out of there, being stubborn always pays off.

    Thanks for the video,
Just picked up a 1990 Johnson 50 HP VRO that is missing the hydraulic trim assist. I like your idea of getting the entire swivel/transom mount.
    I'm currently looking for one.
I will also delete the VRO system as well. Great video too.

I have a 91 evinrude vro. Curious how you do vro delete and what did you do with the tilt assist? Mine has no pressure behind it so it just slams down but I can get it up and down

Great video, I’m in the process of removing at tilt assist on a 1992 40hp evinrude and installing a power trim assembly harness, relays switch and motor and hydraulic unit that I purchased on eBay. Everything is great but I can’t figure out where the three wires from the relays go. Maybe you can help me.

Shouldn't you heat the material around the pin not the pin itself? When you heat the pin the pin swells into the hole locking it in even more.

Thanks for the information. I will be tackling my 48SPL in the next week or so. I believe it is the same as tour engine so needless to say, your video will be running the whole time. One suggestion for you is when you are heating up nuts, bolts or pins it might work better to use either a small rosebud or even a welding tip instead of the cutting tip you used. Once again, thanks.

I have this same TNT unit on my boat. I drained the fluid for normal maintenance and now I can't seem to get all the air bleed out. I have it so it sounds like it should going up but when it goes down it sounds terrible and bounces. I've lifted and lowered the motor 40 times and still can't get all the air out. The motor will stay up on the trailer and if I put pressure on it it will stay up. When I get out on the water and give it gas it won't stay up on it's own which is something that just started after changing fluid. How did you bleed the air out of system?

Hi, my johnson's (j40plsoc, 2007 model) trimm sender lever is broken. Can you help me find a used sender at a decent price since new ones are extremely expensive for a trimmer in a plastic housing.... And my rev meter does not seem to be working. How can I troubleshoot it ?

The prior owner of that engine, set that pic to get the lowest setting on his boat.

SHoot some lag bolts into your mount and the wood so you are not wiggling the mount so much. Just wasting the inertia of the hammer on a loose mount.
