For me Braeden’s technique with rod sleeves works well when driving between fishing locations in a rental car since it doesn’t have roof storage for my rods. My rods fit comfortably in the rental car and have protection from scuffing. I would enjoy a video on strategies for wade fishing when the fish aren’t biting, besides just give up. In general I would also enjoy more videos about wade fishing, especially on the Madison with its stronger current and greased bowling ball like rocks riverbed.
Great tip Braeden, many years ago I'd try and do this but always screwed it up until I saw Kelly do it. I like to wade fish with two rods, one for streamers and the other for dries and nymphs and this trick makes carrying the second rod much easier.
I often don't realize that a shit-ton of people going out west hiring guides didn't grow up as kids riding their bikes to fish, and didn't learn this stuff the same way we learned to walk and eat... apparently there is a lot of money to be made teaching doctors and lawyers and bankers how to transport a fly rod. I'm too dumb to take advantage of it.
