Another great informative video. Thank you. Braeden’s technique works well with Scientific Anglers Rod Sleeves. For me Braeden’s technique with rod sleeves works well when driving between fishing locations in a rental car since it doesn’t have roof storage for my rods. My rods fit comfortably in the rental car and have protection from scuffing. I would enjoy a video on strategies for wade fishing when the fish aren’t biting, besides just give up. In general I would also enjoy more videos about wade fishing, especially on the Madison with its stronger current and greased bowling ball like rocks riverbed.

OK, Fly Fishing competitions aren’t strictly just euro nymphing . Some guys carry 2-3 rods with different set ups .

Great tip Braeden, many years ago I'd try and do this but always screwed it up until I saw Kelly do it. I like to wade fish with two rods, one for streamers and the other for dries and nymphs and this trick makes carrying the second rod much easier.

Hey Kelly .love your stuff. I use a surgerons loop dropper for my drop shot lead . Just put it over the main and let it slide down and stop on the bottom fly...Thoughts??

I saw that Trevor Gowdy episode with Joan Wulff in Patagonia - I think it’s in the 1990s or something. He cast to the bank with a big streamer and a HUGE brown trout came off of the wall and totally crushed the streamer on camera. It was awesome.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Drove 45 minutes to the river and left my waders sitting on the bench in the garage.

I tie a small perfection loop at the tip of my leader and then make a small perfection loop in my tippet…Loop to loop connection. When my tippet gets too short I remove the tippet and make a new one with a perfection loop and add it to my leader again and repeat, no tippet rings required!

I very rarely go to the reel. Just to bring in stripped line. Mainly just strip fish in. My line fingers are my drag.

Not always true. USUALLY, you get what you pay for. Usually. I play golf. You will DEFINITELY play better with newest equipment. You'll hit longer, straighter and really play a lot better. I collect serious dollar JDM fishing tackle. A Daiwa saltiga is way way better than Shakespeare sigma reel. Made better better components drag water proof smoother.

Hey guys, love the videos. Had a question. Kelly mentioned the importance of plopping a streamer and getting it moving asap. In the case of buoyant flies with deer hair heads, they take a second to sink, does it matter if the first movements are on the surface? Flies like a swimming Jimmy need a second or two for even heavy sinking lines to suck them under.

Great no nonsense video on fly reels. I own one of those Echo base reels, a Liquid and a Remix (with 4 spools), and a Ross Colorado. The Colorado was a bit of a splurge but it was paired with a custom rod that I acquired in a barter and was a retirement gift to myself. I noticed that reels made by a certain company (starts with an O) were not mentioned. I bought one of their combo rod/reels in an 8wt and am planning on taking it to the Georgia coast for redfish. I am totally enamoured with the reel that came with it. A Nautilaus would be great, but I"ve been looking at Dannielson reels as well. I also picked up a Hardy Demon 5wt on eBay for a steal and have though about matching it with a Hardy reel. I fell in love with a Marquis at a cane rod demo day, but the UDLA sounds enticing too. I just can justify spending that amount of money for the amount of fishing I do.
