I took cold showers every other day for 4 months because I couldn’t afford my gas bill.. and it didn’t help my skin or hair or stress 😅 it did help get me angry each morning and tackle the day. It woke me up and I was like I’m soooo ready to get on my feet and enjoy the sweeter things in life. So if anything, it motivated me. And it made me thankful for warm running water. Idk whether or not that’s the case for cold showers, I’ve tried cold showers before and they help me wake up, and made me feel refreshed, but I wouldn’t say I noticed any health benefits, although I didn’t consistently have cold showers to test long terms effects. Also while writing this I realised that you could be saying that if you chose to do it out of your own will, you’ll be more open to seeing and conscious of the benefits that comes with it compared to if you’re annoyed by it and therefore will have a prejudice/bias against it. @BuzzKill_945 It's true. Our bodies have evolved to flood adrenaline when we encounter danger, uncertainty, or a predator. It increases your heart rate, vessel volume, and respiratory rate. However, in the modern world this is actually consequential. Think about when you would prepare for an interview or presentation, your heart rate goes up, your hands shake, you start sweating, its not ideal. Taking cold showers will send your body into this panic mode, real fkn quick, and once you learn to slow your breathing and relax, your body starts to learn it doesn't need to do that in every situation that causes cortisol to be released. Cortisol causes adrenaline, adrenaline causes, dopamine/more cortisol depending on situation.

The way to take a cold shower learned from Wim Hoff- NO MATTER WHAT JUST BREATHE NORMALLY. What do we normally do when cold shower hits our body, we hold our breath right? But that’s basically the mind and body saying “I hate this don’t do this”. Once we breath normally at a normal rate in a normal way the mind and body accepts the cold water, and says u know what I am choosing this, this sudden stress is self inflicted so I accept it calmly and I surrender to it. You will find you calm down and it’s much easier- often I even start to enjoy it !

you know i shower with cold water, when i started out day by day i decreased the heat so i could get comfortable but what happened was i felt cleaner, less stressed, more refreshed, and i felt more at peace. It really helped me improve my mood and become more motivated, however your body and my body are different so what works for me might work wonders for your body or might just not suite your body but the only way to find that out is to take a risk and try it.. so don't be scared to try something that might change your life ❤

No. Shower normally, rinse, then throw to C cold. The idea is to control your breathing, remain still and controlled in your movements as the water flows over face, chest, head , back, legs back front sides face back head chest armpits face….., start out at 15 sec couple days, skip a day or two, then 15 again. Only do these 3 -4 times a week. Not everyday. Work up to 30 sec 1 min 2 min… until you can stand a 5 min or longer occasionally. Dry and warm naturally. Do not warm yourself up with towels or heaters etc….
Again, doing this everyday defeats the purpose. You’ll be surprised how you can get use to this; you really don’t want too, it’s about self control.

You should ask a cardiologist this question. Lol. If you are an athlete. After 4 to 8 hours of your workout, it will not interfere with your body's reparation and will help decrease inflammation but talk to your teams' doctor and physical therapist. Lol. I see everybody doing this now.

I'm used to have cold showers every day since I was a little kid. Mother said I always just liked It. Still do, although it's been a bit more difficult to do it now. Don't know about the stress relieve bc I personaly get stressed very fast. Neither about improove mood cuz I'm always kinda down... I think it's not the shower alone, she have a very well balanced life and it's this system that makes those results show. I hope to get my life back together and be as organized as her.

As someone who’s been taking cold showers everyday for 2 years now, I can assure you the rate of sickness, stress have decreased and energy levels increased. But effects start to wear off as you get used to it so I would recommend cycling cold showers with hot shows each fortnight (two weeks straight cold, next two weeks normal/hot and cycle through)

Some effects of this cold shower therapy can possibly be negative also. Nutrients, vitimins, minerals and O2 with increased blood flow can be good or a bad thing, some things that can build up over time during a sedentary period, you should pay attention that they dont brake off and move toa place that makes stroke happen ❤.
