This is sooo useful! planning to go there in October! yes we climb slow to high altitude, planning to came back also... Facebook groups tell about people hiking without guides there, meaning at least EBC. guide situation looks kind of vague. Do you have more info on this?
Nepal has tried to ban guideless trekking in some areas, but none of it is enforced actually, and Khumbu area (EBC trek) has flatly refused to comply. So it is business as usual, no guides required in real life.

Hi Jason. I am (Solo..no guide or porter)doing the EBC/3 passes combined starting Nov 15th but am starting from Phaplu which is 3 days before Lukla & at a lower elevation. I have also factored in 3 acclimatisation stops each with a 2 night stay over. Seeing as u have done it solo which insurance company did u use..? I am currently researching this aspect but there isn’t many companies that cover u above 5500 mtrs..Finally I have watched all yr very informative vids on EBC….awesome information. Maybe I will see you on the trail…🤙Btw….just subscribed so I can keep up to date with the vids u are pumping out later this year.
