One of my sisters married an identical twin. The thing is, both brothers like taking their wives to the same restaurant. Because of this, the waiters at that restaurant thought that they were one guy cheating on two different women for quite a few years. The staff didn't figure it out until both brothers decided to eat there together. The reason we know about this is because a waitress confessed this to us when we had a family get-together at that very restaurant. Apparently, my brother in law and his twin had been the center of conversation among the staff for quite some time before it was discovered that they were twins and not a single person.

My boyfriend used to wait tables at a Mexican themed restaurant. He told me about a time during Cinco de mayo when a family came in. Everyone was ordering drinks and my bf asked for everyone's ID including a dude that was underage. This dude gave my bf the ID and it was obvious it was fake. My bf was going to let it slide because in Texas it IS legal to drink as long as the parents are around, which they were. He said the ID was fake but was about to say it was okay but the whole family became BALLISTIC. Calling my boyfriend a liar, screaming at him, pushing him, and spitting in his face. The family eventually left and thankfully there were many nice people in the restaurant that gave my bf big tips that day for having to deal with that. I told him to press charges against that horrible family but he never did. I know it's his decision to press charges or not but people like that don't deserve to get away with treating people like that.

A pal of mine used to be a waiter, and he once saw two fellas come in. They were both in their late 50’s, and weeping. Their wives were cheating, and this was the first time they’ve seen each other in years. How did my friend know? The men told him. And these two guys were just crying, and then they just… hugged. And started laughing! They started bringing up old stories from their childhood, their loud booming voices echoing through the mostly empty bar/restaurant. And my friend just smiled as the two rough looking biker friends hugged again, and talked about how their friendship is so important, and how “screw our wives, if they don’t care about us, we can at least care about each other.”

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in 2017. His best friend took him out for a meal to talk through his options and to give him a bit of a pep talk. While they were at the pub, one of the waitresses was hanging around them and periodically checking on them. At the end of the meal she winked and smiled at them and told them to have a good time when they got home.
Basically, hubby and his BFF were convinced she thought they were a gay couple out on a date. Obviously I don't know what she was thinking, and they might have been exaggerating, but it came up regularly over the next couple of years before hubby's death in 2019.

When I was a server's assistant (busser, I was a busser) at a fancy place in my city. There was a group of boomers, I'm guessing 60's and 70's, who were taking up a few tables that were still there well past closing. I was still pretty new and the server said /I/ had to stay even though my ride was there and it wasn't my job to process the check. I had already cleared the table and I was basically standing in the busser cubby when I heard one ask if it was okay to stay this late since it was well past closing. Then one of the men says "Oh, it's fine. They have to stay until WE decide to leave. We do this ALL the time" then one of the women said "Yeah, they're on OUR time."
I was on the verge of flipping out because my ride was texting me threatening to leave me. The server was doing nothing (she was a lady in her late 40s) and when the manger came in and saw I was still there she flipped out. I told her about everything, she went OFF on the server (apparently the server knew I did drive and figured she could shirk her work off onto me). The manger made sure I got out to the car safely, and when I came in the next day the bartender said the manger tore the group a new asshole for disrespecting our hours and treating us like we weren't people who just finished long shifts who still had to drive home.
We also had a lady get engaged there and was super blushy and lovie to everyone. She tipped each server and busser personally in cash. I remember she put a flower from her bouquet in my hair and told me it "brought out my eyes"

@@burnttoast385every time this comes up on Facebook or wherever social media, I point the women in the direction of a place where they’ve compiled what amounts to basically a “how to catch a cheater” handbook. It’s brilliant. And has tips and tricks that no one would ever think about. So basically on social media I send out this information to the masses, who will then spread it around to other people because it’s THAT good. I think it’s safe to say that in the age of internet-the people who can be reached will be. And whoever is cheating on them is operating on borrowed time until they get caught and left for a far superior partner who actually loves them for real. You know the old saying? “Cheaters never prosper.” Especially in this day and age. Each breakup is a start over scenario and people lose homes and money. And for someone who can’t keep it in their pants, that will likely happen a LOT. So loss after loss after loss. That’s been my HOR dad’s life, and he’s now old and because he’s been such a scumbag to anyone who ever loved him, he’s now dying of cancer all alone. And no one will give a flying sh-t when he’s gone. I’m pretty sure I know a few of his ex’s that would be more likely to dance on his grave, now that I think about it. The world will be a better safer place without him. All he’s ever done is cause pain and suffering. It will be no loss to the world when he’s six feet under.

To say it was heartbreaking would be an understatement. The kids wanted to stop at The Olive Garden after the service as this was their friend's favorite place. During our lunch the manager came to our table as is typical of this chain. She cheerily smiled and asked "So what are we celebrating today"? The kid's were stunned to say the least. I replied " we are celebrating the life of their classmate who has just passed away". I could see the manage felt awful and took me aside and wanted to comp our bill. On the 17th of July, we were finally reopened. I was still working at the counter and inside booths. The fellow from the earlier couple--a guy called Rick sat at a booth. I got him his coffee. We were jam-packed for reopening, and keeping all the coffee cups full kept me busy. Rick waited for his second refill, and then he followed me to the top booth--the only one in the restaurant.
Wanda was busy with all the side booths, and half of her customers held up their coffee cups, hoping for mercy. So I casually poured coffee. Wanda would do the same for me. I was on the counter, so I had all the go orders. Rick had asked the guy at the top booth a question. Which had turned this fellow's stomach. Then Rick left.
"Did you hear what he asked me?" the fellow asked me.
"No, I don't eavesdrop that closely." I replied.
"I NEED to talk to the Police!!"
I called out--because I have a right loud voice--"Wanda, this fellow needs to talk to you!" Then I wandered from the front till to empty the bus tubs because we do not have a busboy in the front.
Wanda looks mortified. Then she begins dialing the telephone.
The lead detective shows up, and I told him all the information I had. He only wants me to verify what Wanda said was true. Lead detectives do not lead a material witness--which was what I was.
Rick had murdered his date sometime after 8:20. I was the last person to see her alive. The fellow at the top booth was the coroner's assistant. Rick had asked him, "How long would it take for her body to start stinking?" Rick had been checking every day to find out if her body had been discovered. He gave up waiting and reported her missing.

One of my friends had a very similar story to 25, but the main difference is when they made basically the same highly sexist comment about her when she walked passed she didn't let it slide. This girl is half African half Colombian and we didn't dub her Karma for no reason, when they said that she was holding 2 plates and in one movement she swung around and smashed them over the head of the one who made that comment, she then looked at the others and said "GET OUT!". They left as fast as the manager came out and was in the process of saying "YOU'RE FIRED" but only made it through the "you're" part because she said "fired? Yeah, whatever" dropped her apron on the ground "you can just mail me my last check" then after all that, she left.

When ordering they said it was all on one bill. When the bill came they started working out who had what and were putting the money onto the table. One of the party pocketed all the cash and paid with a corporate debit card.

18:00 children birthday parties are the worst , not once have I had a pleasant experience, its never the parents of the birthday boy/girl but other mommies they invite, I once caught one picking a few bank notes from the tip the customer left me , she looked up saw me, shock in her face she looked down then left acting like nothing happened. I also don't mind a small tip but ff-sakes I would have all my seats allocated to the party , the main party would leave , all tables pushed together I can not split them until everyone leaves and then one or two mommies would stay for the next 4 hours, ordering water and asking if the bar serves those free peanuts. Cmon lady I have rent to pay and I would prefer not moving back into my car again. also with the bay pre-booked I am not able to make any money before my shift starts, I once had a group show up 2 hours late, they did let us know they were going to be late after we phoned them 30 minutes in, still couldn't use my tables

After 3 days -this was the restaurant in our hotel- I picked up on what they were doing and who the client was. Since during the day my girlfriend was actually working for that company they were doing a very intense negotiation with, I was feeding her information about their discussion. She kept her manager informed and the guys couldn't figure out what was going on. Bitching more and more by the evening.....
It ended up with a deal and my girlfriend not accepting to meet me at my workplace. She thought it would be too unprofessional... lol

Oh dang, that reminds me of something truly... lets say "upsetting" oO. I am German and worked in a good visited cafe that was basically a boardgame/geek/nerd haven as well as a small internet cafe. There was an somewhat older guy regularly there watching... eh... very, very adult content. Always smoking, too. The thing is... the internet-cafe-part was so setup that you can clearly see every screen.
But it wasn't just "adult" it was... you know, the type of adult content in which girls get it... from mostly four legged big horseys. I was halfway the stairs down as I saw it. I just stood there with a huge WTF in my face. And not just horse to girl stuff. No, dog to girl stuff too... Everyone seemed to ignore it and I didn't know what I should've done in that situation. I just never dared to look at the screens again when this old guy was there.
He regularily let cigarettes burn down to the filter and the whole cafe stunk after burned filter -.-" Blergh. Wasn't fun.
    Stay crunchy.

While this did not happen in a restaurant, it happened in a Wally World in a major Texas city of 5 million plus people at about 10 pm. It was very crowded with all lanes having 15 plus people waiting in them. When I said all lanes, I mean all 40 lanes that the store had. I was about 5 people back when 2 Hispanic cut in line in front of me (I am a white male and look like I don't speak Español.) I wait a minute to react as I was listening to their conversation in Spanish where they were talking bad about every white person in Wally World. I finally had enough and in perfect Spanish, I told them in no certain terms was it OK for them to cut in line just because I am white and a male nor was it OK to talk bad about white people in a language that most white people would not understand. They looked like they were shocked that a white person spoke better Spanish than they did. I had to watch the way I said things as my Spanish is Castilian which is not the dialect spoken in Texas.

The poor old lady story I can relate to that. Back in the day I used to wait on this couple that I will call Ed and Carol. They were quite elderly. Ed was in his nineties in Carol was in her eighties. Without fail they were there every Monday on senior night and I served them. One time I saw her at the host podium with a lady friend but it wasn't there. I asked where he was and she flopped over on the cashier's counter wailing that he had died. There were other guests behind her who had been impatiently waiting for a table. Suddenly the look of palpable sympathy on their faces was apparent. I didn't know what to do. I peeled her off of the cashier's counter and just embraced her in a hug. There was a couple sitting at a nearby booth and they moved over so I could sit her down. I got her some water and told her to drink it. She and her friend ended up sitting with the other couple.

I’m not trying to be all judgmental & whatnot, but I am genuinely shocked that the girl who worked at Waffle House in high school’s parents actually agreed to let her do that at such a young age, not only because of the hours she might have to work, but especially because of the things she did end up witnessing and having to deal with at such a young age. That’s just way too young to be exposed to the WH culture and having to deal with all of that, not to mention how dangerous it can be, even on a Sunday morning during breakfast rush. I had to chase down a girl who had been repeatedly hit by her (I guess) boyfriend (or pimp) and then she took off through the parking lot with her baby dangling from her leg as she ran. I was just trying to get the baby safe until the cops got there. On a Sunday morning. Terrifying. I can’t imagine a 16 year old dealing with something like that at work and her parents thinking it was a good idea. And that’s not the only thing I have seen at the Awful Waffle, man. I love their food, but you have to watch out.

That's a lot of assumptions to leap to.
The Waffle Houses where I live are perfectly safe, even in the middle of the night. My first job here, at 16, was at a pizza place adjacent to a large college campus. Groups of male students often came in to eat...and drink. I was rather well developed for my age and on occasion some raunchy behavior happened. But it wasn't a table service place. All I had to do was tell the manager or kitchen guys and they would happily go and inform the guys that 16 gets you 20. Solved every time. Of course this is a nice Midwestern town and my dad's only concern about the job was me getting home after closing. The manager lived about half a mile from us, problem solved.
I guess if you're worried about your teenager being safe, live somewhere with a low crime rate.

You cannot microwave it. 41 the hotspots for microwaving the bottle can burn the baby. Also, it's against health code violation if you stick that in a microwave that is used for Customers. was working part time in a bar a long time ago part while being full time armed forces.
had two women talking about how woman A had gotten a rather serious STD from her lover and didn't know how to tell her boyfriend... apparently they had been together for "years and years" and she wasn't going to throw that away.
anyway... it doesn't take long before I can hear them comment on me and woman B says if she didn't have a man she would have dragged me home.
about five minutes later woman A makes a serious attempt to get me to invite her home to my place, when I respectfully decline she tried to get me to invite her out back... I once more declined and shortly after a guy walks in and woman B rushes to the bathroom.
turns out the dude (her bf) saw her talking to me and was rather pissed when she said I had been hitting on her and wouldn't take a no for a no.
while he was getting ready to fight I calmy asked him what was more likely... me trying and her saying no or her trying and me saying no.
she started screaming that he should teach me a lesson.
having had enough I told him that as a bartender I heard a lot of things and if I was him I would go to the doctors and get tested...
he got mad at me for that, but looked at his gf who had gone rather pale... in the end he ran out the door cussing while she followed screaming that I was lying, followed by she was sorry, followed by "it wasn't her fault".
I saw him about 2-3 months later where he confessed that he had been trying to avoid the bar, but actually wanted to thank me...
he had been tested and hadn't caught anything... she did not want to get tested so he broke up with her which meant he could/would accept a job offer that he otherwise would have turned down.
