I always love your vids bro, keep it up! I'm new to cutting my own and I'm very curious on a specific question. I was wondering if I use a guard (1/4) open and cut the top of the hair which is short. If I keep running the clippers over that area of hair is it possible for the hair to eventually go bald or would it just stop at a certain hair length point? I'm trying my best to learn and ask questions because I'm struggling with cutting my own hair which is like my first time doing it.

To answer your question, no it would not cut your hair bald. The guards are designed to only cut the hair to a certain length.
Are you cutting with the grain or against the grain?

I started with #3 guard close or open I forgot. I went against the grain. I believe I'm making so many mistakes. I honestly give you thumbs up with self cutting because as a first timer it's very difficult to be able work off different angles while trying to keep control with the mirror. If it's cool with you is it possible if I email you and send a pic because I honestly need help with finding out crucial mistakes that I'm making. I just would like to learn how to cut my own hair instead of depending on going to the barber. I appreciate so much for the reply. I feel like I can type a list on the many mistakes I'm having. Please get back @me whenever you can I honestly appreciate it.

I would probably just keep it lined up until it gets longer.
