I would also like to see more on what you can accomplish with a TT. Maybe a deeper dive about if a patient wants a bbl later (you have some videos on this) vs TT only. What a patient can do if they have "complications" but they are out of state and back home. Would love more education and stories from BA and TT. If I were to to get to an even lower body fat percentage, would it give me a better result? My thought is that the weight I would regain to back to that 12 percent would stretch out any surgery "imperfections"?

I did alot of walking everyday and it became easier with each day. I still have my surgical tape on (let that fall off on its own), I bathe with antibacterial soap and will until my incision is completely healed. I use all clean washing clothes, towels, clothes that will touch my incision and belly button. I don't put anything in my belly button and I allow my body to air dry before i put my faja on. You're welcome. I'm a MedSurg Travel RN, so I removed my own drains at 8 days PO--Ive done it many times before on some of my patients. The rule of thumb for drain removal is when you are draining less than 25 mL within a 24-48 hour period and when the fluid is pinkish-clear. This is based on individuality because everyone is different.
      You will wake up in a binder, no faja until your drains have been removed.

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před rokem +9

      I don't know how to recover after a BBL and TT done at the same time so I am not in the best position to address the recovery. I always suggest having a TT first and then 6 months later a BBL. I do the operations together and patients recover well but I really don't know how they do it because you can't lay on your tummy after a TT and you can't lay on your butt after a BBL. I know there are special chairs that patients have told me they use but it seems super difficult to me.

    My 18 year old daughter is 'special needs' (high functioning autism - Asperger's, etc.), and she is getting the 'tummy tuck' procedure, as well as work on her arms ('hello helens'?) in 2 days. I'm sure she, my wife, and the Plastic Surgeon had discussions about the subject weeks ago, to see where she stood psychologically, and the doctor said it would be OK. My daughter actually wanted these procedures when she was 16, but was denied, and rightly so. Personally, as her dad, I still think she would have benefited by waiting until she was in her 20's, but my gut feeling is that all these damn online social media sites have greatly influenced (brainwashed?) even teens to go under the knife, expecting miracles! I'm still surprised that she is going through with this. What are your thoughts about young adults (18, 19 year olds) getting this, and similar other plastic surgery procedures? Is it too young? Should you wait a few more years until your 20's? Any comments would be appreciated.

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It just comes down to emotional maturity and the support she has at home. I have had patients in their 20's and 30's that I didn't think were in a good place emotionally to be able to handle the surgery and suggested they wait--so for me the maturity and support system are the most important factors over and above age. A supportive mother and father for an 18 yr old cannot be underestimated and it sounds as if your daughter has both! Best of luck on her recovery.

      @@DrWilliamMiami Thank you Dr. Miami! I appreciate your feedback, and yes, of course she has our love and support. She is a great daughter, and we would do anything to help her be happy. My only concern is that so many teens these days have body dysmorphia, or something similar, that impels them to choose this kind of surgery. Much of it is fomented by the intense pressure of social media to look like a model, or thereabouts. I think this is a very valid concern for teens and their parents today.

      The tightness can persist for more than 6 months and sometimes even longer. Everyone is different but three months is still within the normal range.

      Recliners are good but they take a lot of work and put a lot of stress on the abdominal wall so I prefer wedges.

      I am not Dr Miami. I can't make a video about them because I no longer do that operation so I would not consider myself the one to speak on that poeration. I would see if you can get information from a post-bariatric plastic surgeon. Sorry, wish I could help.

    I heard that something else 🐱 gets lifted during a tummy tuck, what if I don’t want that to happen? Does it happen to everyone? Thanks 🙏🏼
