So I was told by a doctor in Texas that I needed a TT. I watched diligently all your videos and I was almost sure I didn’t need one. I know the difference between external fat/ internal fat, how to see if you need a TT, what the sad belly button looks like ( mine just looks surprised and indecisive 😮😅) So I lost the weight and sent pictures and now the same doctor is saying I should be ok with just a lipo. Interesting fact was that I sent my pictures to you to your coordinator and you said that I didn’t need a TT. So I also name dropped you 😊. I don’t know if it’s the weight loss, or name drop that did it but either way I am happy I am getting just lipo and my doctor here is now giving me the same verdict. Hoping for great results.

OMG. I just had a Mommy makeover in Miami 6 weeks ago. I wish I had found you sooner. I realized after my MM that my surgeon only did lips on my sides. I am still trying to reduce the swelling above my incision as I’m. It flat like I see others that are on a facebook group. I had a great hourglass figure and my breast were already nice and full, but too much sagging. She took away too much size. I loved my 34DDD now m a 33DD. If I come to you for lips 360, would that require another TT? Can you add implants to give me back my size? How long do. Have to wait? I love your work. ❤
I am 5 weeks post op from my mommy makeover in Miami and as well the Dr only did lipo on my sides not on my front it really looks horrible when I asked why they said because it was already a big surgery and it would be too much for the body. I feel like they wanted to finish and be done with me that's why

My surgeon gave me periumbilical hernia like 10mm. Also my belly button to scar all got so hard in just 2nd week confirming in Ultrasound that I had scar tissue. I had tt with mr. Please suggest. My belly button area is hard to touch

I wondered about this….I lost 110lbs over a few years….im a veteran so it was more me working out to get some good endorphins….I don’t have a lot of loose skin but enough in my belly where I am wearing a high waist bathing suit if not a one piece. I’m very fit and pretty muscular so I thought that a tummy tuck would mess up my abs….Ive worked very hard on them…lol. Now I’m reconsidering as I too have nice skin above my belly button….thanks for the info….and assisting in helping me make a better educated decision on this procedure. 🙌🏽🇨🇦

You can but you just have to know it is possible to develop a keloid of the incision.

Tummy tuck removes the skin in the front. You need liposuction (lipo 360) to get the shape. So we call it a TT10 or a TT360--both mean total circumferential liposuction around the trunk of the body along with a tummy tuck.

If you have stretch marks about the belly button they will be relocated below the belly button after a tummy tuck. You abdomen can still be flat after a tummy tuck provided you don't have any internal fat.
Sorry that was a poorly worded question, thank you for answering. I met with a plastic surgeon yesterday and he said he was worried about the skin above my belly button as I have stretch marks quite a ways up and he said the “integrity” of the skin may not be very good but I am a good candidate for this surgery. He also said he couldn’t do a breast lift at the same time as the abdominalplasty (?) because I’d be under anesthesia too long. The first dr I went to said 5-6 hours for mommy makeover. I guess I need a third opinion but we only really have two surgeons in our town and I don’t really want to travel far for another surgeon for post op situation. Please tell me I’m making sense?!!

I’m confused I’m sure I’ve heard many times that you can’t have a TT and Bbl together because lipo will stop bloody supply and can cause the skin to die so how is it okay to have a TT with lipo my understanding was you can have just a tummy tuck first then a Bbl and lipo 6 months later please clear this up thank you I luv watching your videos very informative
You can have a TT/BBL or a TT/Lipo or just a TT. I suggest a TT then 6 months later a BBL because the recovery is easier if you do it that way and you can lipo the abdomen more thoroughly if you separate the two operations but for sure you can do them together.

You can have it either way TT/BBL together, or BBL first and then TT, but I also suggest to do a TT first and then a BBL 6 months later. That way the skin is soft and I can do a really good TT and then in 6 months I can safely perform liposuction.

That's a good question. The answer is that it can happen to anybody that stretches their abdomen regardless of the cause. So large weight gain and weight loss and pregnancy can cause diastasis.

I can't really answer since I have never seen you and would advise you to be seen by a plastic surgeon. However, in my experience patients who are unhappy after a tummy tuck because of a protuberant belly, in other words a belly that sticks out can fix the problem with weight loss. The internal fat goes away with weight loss and patients become flat and happier.

It has been my experience that most patients who have had children have some degree of diastasis.
Can the belly button close ofter a tummy tuck?
Not really BUT their can be scar tissue around the belly button that can make it look closed but if that scar tissue was removed the belly button would still be open. Kind of can get thick and obstruct the opening of the belly button so it appears to close over.

I understand much of the education you give us on TT vs Lipo. The whole diastasis & extra skin, hanging skin aspect. But I get to thinking🤔 DR, why is it made a big deal that when one is considering Lipo or TT you'll recommend TT for these cases? I do get it may give the better outcome; But if someone isn't concerned about diastasis, not looking for a "snatch", why couldn't they get Lipo & Jplasma or the like? 🤷 BBL patients get Lipo w. Jplasma or the like & some of them have the same issues.
Because if you have hanging skin but you just remove fat, you will still have hanging skin. But if your stomach doesn't really hang, just bulges out due to fat, it would look better after lipo.
Because extra skin has to be removed and J plasma or other therapies only do minor tightening and cannot treat excess skin. Excess skin needs to be removed. The results of lipo in patients who have extra skin and need a TT are not good. The abdomen is deformed.
I was told by a surgeon that u can't get a tummy tuck with lipo 360 in the same round. Is it dependant on the candidate. I believe it had something to do with the amount of blood loss
I have criteria that everyone having surgery with me has to meet and then once they are met and medically clear I do lipo 360 with most of my tummy tucks.

Don't give up now! You are only ten days in and a lot will change. I would speak with your surgeon and express your concerns and see what he or she says. We all want the best for our patients so I am sure your plastic surgeon feels the same. Keep in mind that upper abdominal bulging or fat is usually internal fat which is good news because that can be treated with weight loss. Hang in there!

Don't give up. You can work with your insurance carrier and a plastic surgeon (I would suggest an academic center) to see if you qualify for a panniculectomy which is not a tummy tuck but it will remove the extra skin and that is covered by insurance but you will have to fight with them but if your are persistent I think you will win as 176 pounds is a lot of weight to lose!

Totally normal. It takes 3 months and you will have a gap between those jeans you used to wear. Don't worry. Swelling can be very misleading.
