- Tabitha's sneezing gets her into a lot of trouble in this full-length episode.
From Season 1 Episode 2, ‘Tabitha's Weighty Problem’ - Tabitha seems to have a cold in her nose, and just before she sneezes whatever she last said happens. Also, her witchcraft is on the fritz. Her station is doing the on-site reporting for a weightlifting tournament for ABC Wide World of Sports, and Tabitha gets to be escorted by an amorous Russian weightlifter. When Tabitha says that she'll flatten him after another advance from him, she sneezes, and he is flattened and winds up in a poster. Dr. Bombay shows up and diagnoses her with an allergy. Tabitha is cured, and the Russian returns and wins the contest.

ABOUT TABITHA: A young, inquisitive female witch who enjoys leading a normal mortal life is the central character of this romantic fantasy series. Tabitha is the story of the bewitching Samantha's daughter, who has grown up. It's 1977 and Tabitha (Lisa Hartman), 22, is lovely, high-spirited and works as a TV production assistant. Tabitha's brother Adam (David Ankrum), the TV station's assistant manager, who is a mere mortal and constantly afraid the world will find out his sister is a witch, urges her to put away her witchy ways and live a normal life. But Tabitha's eccentric Aunt Minerva (Karen Morrow), an attractive witch in her mid 30s, takes her duty as Tabitha's guardian seriously, and encourages Tabitha to use her gifts for fun and profit, much to Adam's chagrin. Robert Urich and Barry Van Dyke co-star.

I never knew there was a spin off on Bewitched. I grew up on reruns.
There is also one with her brother grown up, but there is no explanation why or how he had turned into a warlock.
@@oakstrong1 On Bewitched, Adam WAS a warlock. In the first Tabitha pilot he was a warlock but that one was not picked up. For some reason the 2nd pilot (which became this series) they made Adam mortal and made him older than Tabitha. He was her younger brother on Bewitched.

Bewiched was one of my favorite shows growing up. I remember when Samantha had Tabitha everyone was just waiting to see if she would have powers like her mom. I never knew of this spinoff. Thank you for this.

Back in the 70's most TV shows made 26 episodes per season but, Tabitha only did 13 episodes before they were canceled. So I guess I'll just sit down and binge watch all of them tonight.

I know what you mean but, they tried by making a second pilot ( there were two pilots and eleven episodes) but, it didn't work. I got hooked up immediately, and then it was canceled. 😔

Tabitha was born in 1965. She would have only been 12 in 1977.
They wanted to make a spin-off about Tabitha in that year. End of the story.

My parents thought about naming me Tabitha (I was born in the 70s) but they were afraid I’d be nicknamed “Tabby” and they didn’t like that. They also thought about Samantha, but they didn’t want me called “Sam”.
Should’ve kept Adam a warlock. He and Tabitha could’ve had a adversarial relationship like Endora and Uncle Arthur.

I love having the Tabitha DVD collection. However, I must get something like that in person at a flea market and not on Amazon or Ebay.
It would have been better had Adam did a different job than his father. Like a fire fighter or cop or something else. It would have been a much more interesting.

Lisa Hartman was a perfect choice for the role of Tabitha. ( Maybe if they had her being a young witch mother, it might have offered a better variety of script opportunities.)

no, it means grandma, i did a course, russian language, did visit Ukraine often, and its different , you can call an older lady babushka or even mamotska (little mother) but a younger lady dont like, that is dewotska, lots of old traditions and "protocol" its a must to learn before traveling into this countries, like, if nobody wears a seatbelt ? if you put it on, you show, you dont trust the driver, and much much more,had tons of fun in Ukraine, it paid off @@MichaelPhillipsatGreyOwlStudio

I remember Lisa Hartman in Knots Landing which came several years later. She looked even hotter in that show. Some people get better with age.

I believe so. He was also younger than Tabitha, but in this series, he's supposed to be Tabitha's much older brother, and a total mortal like his father.

Aunt Grimalda (played by Mary Esther Denver) and Aunt Enchantra (in this episode played by Estelle Winwood) were the two members of the Witches Certication Committee who tested him.

The only time he had powers was when Maurice transferred some of his own powers to Adam, and some of the other witches (Enchantra, Hagatha and Endora, mainly) tried to kidnap him, and Maurice had to take back the powers and admit to them that Adam had no powers of his own.

The spinoff failed. In my opinion it was because Samantha and Darrin don't appear at all. What did Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York and Dick Sargent think of the show? Or Agnes Moorehead? Or Alice Ghostley or Paul Lynde?

I didn't like the way the producers and / or writers created the show differ from bewitched. Tabitha was first born, and Adam also had powers. They took that all away. It made no sense.

Truly some of the worst television ever made. Dreadful writing, cheap production, cheesy acting (with the exception of Hartman, who isn't too bad given the awful dialogue) and the music is beyond awful. What a blight on the Bewitched landscape.
I really the set design but yeah really bad script, so much about her having a cold.
Their mistake was making like Bewitched. What they should have done is make it like Sabrina the Teenage Witch where we see a teenage Tabitha and Adam and dealing with her powers not already an adult.
