When I was in fifth grade, there was a popular kid who got two questions right on a 15 question test. Not hard questions either, just some things we had learned the past few weeks. REALLY EASY, as someone who isn’t good at math.
The teacher had said beforehand they were going to read the scores out loud. I bet they regret they said that when they had to say one of their students got 2 questions right. I don’t know how they even failed the other questions
To be fair, I always knew they were an idiot. They were a jerk, and clearly understood Fortnite better then anything else.

I have no idea how people come up with such creative roasts, but I highly respect it. It's like the perfect roast with carrots, potatoes and onion, all the perfect spices and it melts into absolute hilariousness that leaves you satisfied with what you were given. It's a beautiful art.

Not sure if that was only in the US. I know that down here in Aus we still keep the u's and other extra letters around.

American English is simplified English... Leaving letters out, or making them all an S (defence - defense) instead of an C or Z

The U was there because it looked French and the English had decided that French was sophisticated. The U was dropped in American English because Webster (the dictionary guy) felt it was unnecessarily complicating the language and it would help literacy to make the language easier to read and write.

@@jackwastakenx2 Probably for the same reason that, again on some Samsung phones AND tablets, you can't _change the default apps to non-Samsung apps_ either (say, you prefer the Google defaults, but it won't allow you to set things to open in those apps instead of Samsung's replacements). They're essentially the Apple of the Android world, "we know how you want to use your device, and if you think otherwise, you don't know yourself".

@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan My recommendation is actually to get a Pixel. Yes, it's made by Google. But, it runs Android One, which is _as close to stock Android as you can get without bootloader swapping,_ and you're probably using the Google default apps anyway so no need to change there. And you can still do things like homescreen replacers (sup Nova Launcher) and the other usual shenanigans, it doesn't get in your way.
(Ironically, _my carrier_ is the one that's "getting in the way" in my case, even though I bought my Pixel 5 outright and just moved the old sim card into it, AT&T still somehow was able to "sideloading apps is disallowed by your carrier" it.)
My teachers all collectively called me bunny at least once from elementary school trough middle school, but in high school it became more of a true statement; at my high school it was a "funny" joke to run up behind a girl put a hand over her mouth and then whisper in their ear 'I'm going to r**p you' among other things, a kid did this to me and I panicked, my arms were held against my sides so I opened my mouth and bit him, I don't know how badly he got hurt in all honesty just that 3 teachers said he had to go get stitches and it took two American Football (this refers to the style) coaches to remove my jaw from his hand, after this no one tried to grab me from behind and if someone was getting "funny" teachers would said 'Don't go pulling are bunnies tail'.

What sucks is when the receiver reads a different tone than the sender wrote. It's best to not read tone in plain text. SaRcAsTiC or EXCITED/ANGRY are much easier to not mess up

The two that really got me to the point of nearly blacking out laughing were the proctology examination of the rabid skunk and the "cat that barks". The one that *succeeded* was the bit about checking the battery in the carbon monoxide detector.
I made the horrible decision of watching this while getting ready for bed, and nearly died while trying not to get toothpaste every from laughing while brushing my teeth. I mostly succeeded.

It started from newspapers charging advertisers by the letter.
It was Webster who wanted to standardize the language, take it back to Latin roots, he is the one who cemented the way we spell it and it wasn’t because it was cheaper for him to drop a letter. If it was because if charging per letter why wouldn’t we truncate many many more words?

Honestly, what irks me most about the teacher isn't the pure nonsense of trying to assign modern gender identities to characters created 30-40 years ago, but that the teacher didn't do the research properly. Yoshi never had a "trans" controversy, it was Birdo, due to the Super Mario Bros 2 instruction booklet describing Birdo as a male who thinks he is a girl. A teacher who fails the basic research on something so well-known and easily researchable casts serious doubt on the rest of her claims.
My grandpa turned off his hearing aid all the time. He was dying in the hospital. The preacher came into to speak to him and he turned it off, and just nodded along. He did not know he accepted Jesus Christ, and became a born again Christian right before he died. XD

The real reason is that when the Webster dictionary was written, words were changed to have a more phonetic spelling in order for immigrants to have an easier time learning English. I did a short research project on this for my language class.
