its more like feet and miles werent intended to be compared directly- most modern miles are based off a roman measurement that represented roughly 1000 paces, or 2000 steps in a walk. a nautical mile, which is a bit longer in length to an international mile, is 1/60th of a latitude. it would be like measuring teaspoons with liters, you can do it, but nobody made those measurements with that being the point of reference

If someone had an IQ of -293, how the hell would they still be a cohesive mass? Their molecules would be too dumb to maintain chemical bonds. Density would have to be holding them together.

I mean they're basically every single fantasy trope slapped together. The first book is pretty rough. Later ones get better, but the pacing is horrendous and they do rely heavily on just using several tropes straight up with no real variation. They're enjoyable books, but they often get bogged down by strictly adhering to things every single other fantasy novel does. I did appreciate that the books didn't end with a typical happy ending though and that there were at least a few actual consequences for the characters' actions.

The context of the Spiderman 3 one is that Spiderman 3 is controversial among fans as to whether it was good or terrible. The reason the guy specifically said "I'm going to put some dirt in your eye" is because there's a scene where Eddie Brock steals a photograph that Peter Parker took, doctors it, and claims it's his own photo. Peter sees the picture on the front page of the newspaper and says to himself "I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye." It's become a meme, along with the whole "Bully Maguire" thing in general.
