    When my son bought his first car he walked into the dealership with an already agreed on purchase price and financing pre-approval through his credit union. The finance guy was pissed and dragged his feet as long as he could before giving him the paperwork he needed for the credit union to cut the check.

    This was another great video Chevy dude. I just wish you would've mentioned *four squares* I actually learned about them from your previous videos and a few months ago I attempted to buy a new car here in New Jersey and a dealer actually try to use a foursquare on me. That, combined with the fact he tried to charge me $5000 over sticker price made me get up and walk out immediately. Shady business practices for sure.

    My purchase back in February, I traded in my 10 Compass and got a 17 Cherokee. Dealer tried to low ball me on my trade in. I had already looked up it's trade in value. They also had the car I bought over priced by a couple thousand. after a few rounds back and forth I told them I was gonna walk if they didn't give me full trade in value and take 2k off the price of the car I was getting after showing them the trade in value of my car and fair market value of the car I was buying. In the end I got what I wanted and got full trade in and 1,750 taken off the "asking" price of the Cherokee. Keep in mind I only had a 675 credit score when I did all this. So yes even with a not so excellent score if you go in armed you can still haggle and not be pushed around.

    I’ve bought 2 cars both on New Year’s Eve right before the end of the year. More willing to bargain to close another sale before the year ends.
    Go at about 5pm.
    Worked like a charm both times. Got rock bottom rates and decent value for my trades. One of my trades was literally a ticking time bomb. The oil filter had fused to the oil housing and no dealership could get it off. Multiple dealerships repair shops broke multiple renches trying to get it off. Said it was going to be 6k to fix cause they had to pull the whole engine block to swap the oil housing. Lexus is250.
    Had to get rid of it.
    And don’t be afraid to walk out. That’s your most powerful bargaining tool. The power of choice and your own two feet

    I've had 2 separate dealerships, 1 recently, send me home with the car and find out weeks later that they never finished the deal. The Chevrolet dealership in Killeen, TX. I went to get my tags and registration. I was told that they never finished the deal, and we need to resubmit everything. I told them no. They then took the new car. I asked for my trade-in back and was told it was sold at auction. I told them I was coming back with a lawyer and I got a check in the mail for my trade-in. No one in my house will buy a car there again.

    @jae9843 Před 2 lety +1

    An important thing to remember about FICO scores is that the scores auto lenders use might be different than the ones people typically have access to on their own. They use auto-enhanced FICOs which puts extra weight on auto loan repayment history. To add to the confusion, not all lenders use the same risk model, so your auto-FICO score between two lenders might not even be the same. lol. When I bought a car several years ago my base FICO score (the one most people think about) was 810, but the FICO score the Chevy dealership gave me was 740. The massive discrepancy was due to the fact that I'd never had an auto loan prior to that day. So depending on your auto loan history your auto-FICO might be way higher or way lower than the FICO score you're pulling up at home.

    The yo-yo scam is happening to my dad right now. He took the truck back after they called 11 days later saying the bank couldn’t finance. Same day a few hours later they called saying the got the finance loan and to go pick up the truck. We were hella confused, hung up without agreeing to anything and called an attorney. They kept calling and leaving voicemails saying to go pick up the truck or they were going to call a tow truck and bring it to us. When the attorney sent them a letter saying to respond back in written form that they will be canceling the contract through the attorney and pay all the fees and anything we spent on the truck i.e insurance, they left a voicemail instead and said to no longer shop at their agency cause it’s a loss that they are taking and it’s not fair for something that they did not due. Since then it’s been real quiet, they have 15 days left until they respond and pay everything or they will be taken to court. It has been real stressful since we aren’t sure what is going to happen.

He flat out REFUSED to sell me the car unless I financed through the dealership! As he said, they wanted a crack at financing my new car. It was already financed! Hello, Mike, I appreciate your channel and all your information. I have a question, the other day I went to buy a new car that the dealership had posted online on their website for 33 thousand as well as other websites. When I get there and the sales guy hands me the number sheet, it had a total of 45 thousand. Their excuse was that since cars are hard to get right now they have to mark up their vehicles and they also had added stuff to the vehicle which increased the price, such as, tow hitch, mats, etc. My question is, can they post a certain price online and then raise it in person, seems like their fishing to me.

    Chevrolet has no good lease deals & our local dealer has so few new vehicles in stock now due to the chip shortage. Used cars are selling way over book value & Black Book, N.A.D.A. & Kelley Blue Book are not accurate lately. For those who lease buy your lease at the end as you will get better price now as its fixed. If you want to get out of lease & get money, Carvana & CarMax are the biggest ones buying vehicles way more than trade in value & will not buy your lease as GM Financial wont allow it unless you pay it off & get a title.

    Get pre approved then when you go into the F&I person and when you disclose how much you are putting down and that you're going to finance the rest they will tell you what their rate is, you tell them that you think that's too high then you ask them what their 'buy rate' is they will change their attitude and that if they want your business they will have to beat your pre qualified rate and if they fuss about it just walk out. But rest assured they won't want to lose the interest and they will at the very least meet your pre qualified rate.

    Royalty Exotics is looking to franchise their rental car business and that might be something you could get involved in now. Also, Flying Wheels (used car dealership but also a CZcams channel) is looking to franchise his business. But he had mentioned before he wanted to work with existing dealers and help out their business. I don't know how, but just an idea I'm throwing out to help. A bunch of CZcamsrs were selling their cars. Virtually their entire fleets. Hoovie's Garage, Tavarish, WatchJRGo, Ed Bolian of VinWiki, Goonzquad and some others were selling off their cars. Just letting you know since you are looking for inventory.

    Chevy Dude, stores will often not do Outright Purchases of trade ins because they are over their floor plan allowance or they simply do not have time to deal with an 01' Stratus with 180k and a missing rear bumper. Keep up the day job and you'll get to learn more and more of the business.

      Best dealers don’t always have the best deals. I’ve worked for stores that gave away cars and had terrible customer service, and a store that stuck with their price no matter what and had outstanding customer service. Concierge doesn’t come for free. Don’t assume high price = high service, but the lowest price isn’t always the “best deal.”

We knew it would add on. but at that point what do you do? I couldnt dump thousands in to a care to figure it out. So we took the hit.

    People drop their guard before walking into F&I office. They think they're just going to sign the paperwork. Little do they know they're about to face the most experienced, the most aggressive salesman in the building. If they say you got approved for 7%, that means you got 4%. That 3% is thousands of dollars of pure profit for them. Then the mind games with very careful constructed words to sell third party warranties and all kinds of snake oil.

    You should talk about how a dealership shouldn't sell a used vehicle without all the paperwork in hand. Causing people to not get a license plate and keep giving temp tags. Paying for a vehicle that's not in the new owners name. 🙄

    Once again you have misstated the idea of bucketing enquires. Yes it will only ding your score once, but it still remains as multiple inquires on your report and will never only appear as one.
    Should you need something else using your credit in the 2 years after that purchase, the other lender can and will treat them as the multiple enquires that they actually are - and may deny you because of it.
    The best solution is ALWAYS to get pre approved with a lender (Credit Unions are usually best value) and refuse to allow any dealership, at any time, to shotgun your credit.

    • @ldkellandshaw
      @ldkellandshaw Před 2 lety

      @@9seven230My experience with this has varied somewhat. One time when I presented a check from a bank that did not open on a Saturday, the dealership wanted to run my credit to check if I would qualify for financing ‘in case the check was bad’ (which I allowed them to do, but specifically only s single pull) When I brought a Navy Federal check, which was open on a Saturday and required the F&I guy to call and give the actual VIN etc of the car, they did not request an additional pull - I guess since NFCU processes confirm tha validity of the check to the dealers satisfaction.
