I am from India and sadly I can say that these scammers not only target elderly foreign people but local residents like us too. 2 weeks ago a guy called me saying that my Amazon account has been hacked and asked me to call me back after he gets on the line with a so-called technician. Luckily I realized that it was a scam call and was able to report the police with it. They are still trying to hunt down the number and I have not received any calls regarding that till now.

Scammers seriously need to be punished. They steal people's hard earned money like a 9 to 5 job. Authorities need to take more action
They're doing close to nothing since even the authorities are allowing them to continue running it for the sake of earning a share of it. This is most common in third world countries.

Best way to troll a scammer: tell him that you are a cop and that the authorities are tracking this number and if he cancels this call it will be considered as a crime and that he will be pressed on charges and potential jail time

As an Indian it feels even more heartbreaking to watch this and do nothing. What makes it even harder to catch them is they operate mostly during midnight in our time zone and sadly Cybersecurity Departments aren't very active at that moment. Even though these scammers are slowly coming to light and one by one the centers are being raided with the help of other youtubers, we can hope that these guys will soon disappear but that's gonna take time my bros :(

As a indian I'm very upset. Because india come in 1st position in scam calls. My mom got scammed for like 20000 rupees around 256 dollars in USA.

Mark Rober and his friends did a great job on doing this! They incredibly planned the whole prank and got the scammers what they truly deserve. The scammers have gone too far on this, and it was hilarious to see their reactions.
Moral of the story: if a scammer calls you say “911 what is your emergency?”

The sad reality is most of these work hard day and night to earn just a meagre income to sustain their family.

I am from India, and sadly this is true about this beautiful land. This video explains the reason why cybersecurity is important, not just in India, but everywhere. I am an ethical hacker in training, and I want to protect people from scams and social engineering like this.

Scammers need to get real jobs. I hear all to often that scamming is a job. That's like saying robbing the bank is a job. Stealing peoples' money isn't a job. It's theft.

So I had Covid so I separated from my mom so me and my dad was in the music room
The call center called my dad so me and him did a joke that we used the drum to bang
Loudly and the call center hanged up without saying anything I was laughing so hard😂🤣
