People seem to think that Orwell was such a visionary. And he was, of course. But people forget that people haven't really changed much through the times. Power still corrupts. Politics is not about the best for society. It is about power. That is what it has always been about. Not for the aspiring, ideological politician, but always for those that has been in the game for a couple of years. Because power corrupts. The thing that has changed, however, is the speed and flow of information. Which also makes the second half of another famous quote even more relevant: Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It's the same sad story in Europe.
I'm REALLY interested in Snowden's book. I feel he is being honest
Oh , I have tears as I laugh. I'm on the last chapter of his book, and I want him to be able to come home.
You know the world is a cruel place when the hero is denied justice.
no, america is a cruel place where freedom of speech is not allowed when it is about the government and their evil business. nothing to do with the world. everything to do with your warmongering terrorist government

@@metalvideos1961 I agree. John Bolton out of the white house is a win for me. Now we just need trump out, and Bernie in.
@@ethanstump look that is something i can stand behind. but trust me that will never happen. i mean the reason why trump won was all because of the zionist up there in israel. they control the election over there. sure everybody keeps saying russia. but thats all because trump hates russia. well america hates russia in general. point is bernie will never become a president because he knows to much as well and talkd about it in public as well. same goes for hillary. she could have won. she won the popular voting and all that stuff. yet she didnt win because she knows to much about all the illegal wars and creating al qeada and isis and all that stuff. she openly admitted it on tv. nethanyahu doesnt like that kind of stuff. he needs a president that can obey him like a puppet. so thats one of the reasons why trump won. point is its pretty complex. i can give you more proof of how israel controls america but i think you get my point. but yes bernie should be president for sure.

Loved that line...
This statement striked me, what a world we living in?!
And the fact that you reiterated such an expression; now says you're a radical and not a subordinate (by gov def)
If you look up the word 'radical', you will understand that you're deeply rooted in our constitution.
It bothers me that words take on certain connotations. when they meant something true when we started this conversation. But now, the law changes language like crazy.

@UCCUeAg_0eaI7w4uGTqY2DoA he is right about that tho so many enemies, America been attacking sovereign nations slaughtering and displacing millions in their wars for oil bidding people against each other, arming both sides of any conflict in the planet for the last century check history of any conflict, the, American government is like Hades of the modern age and of course everyone hate it including the people of America themselves who mostly don't approve of the massacres done but they can't do nothing. Trevor is by far the best at interviewing people!
He doesn't interrupt all the time, he lets the other person finish before asking the next question and his questions are really thought out and interesting👏🏻 keep it up, Trevor!!
Wake up ppl... this man risked it all to bring the truth to light... y’all owe him
Noone cares cuz we still elected a traitor
The U.S r the real traitors tbh. They enforce the laws, yet they break them
Wake up ppl, his alliance wasn't with the US, but Russia. He was a 'patriot', but for the wrong country. Selectively leaking information against specific political parties doesn't make you a leaker, it makes you a political spy.
You can love or hate the guy, but he only brought half the truth to light, and that did more harm than a million lies.
@@EazyE11 Lets not make the same mistake we did with Bush, and vote against him next time.
@@rich1051414 His leaks werent political, and did you watch the whole video? He didnt choose Russia. He told us the truth about what our government was doing, why would he go to Russia where the surveillance is more extreme? Snowden had multiple ties to the US and US government, it wouldn't make any sense whatsoever for him to throw all of that and his life away for country with twice as many problems.
I think Edward Snowden is a national treasure. I feel bad for the poor sucker going through my camera roll 😂
Amazing interview 🙌🏻
I Hope Audible contact him, I want an audio book read by that super calm voice.
Same bro😂😂😂
Right. It's such a mellow voice.
Like, I really hope he did an audio recording of his book. I would listen to it.
It would be super cool if he narrates his own book for Audible, i would definitely buy that
And Edward would pay tax to US Gov
It would put me to sleep.
I gotta be honest. I never imagined seeing Edward Snowden and Trevor Noah having a conversation while we watch in awe... Imagine reading both of their books and then watching this 🤯
He is great human being ...love his personality and love for humanity ..Humanity is above everything ❤..
The meaning of a true Patriot. An actual American who CARED for the lives of other Americans and not watching them die over the Big Wig's selfishness

Edward should get a Nobel peace prize.
Justin Small I think he did.
Duncan Lockwood what, no, he didnt
d0xter he was nominated for it. My bad.
There is absolutely no reason he should be nominated for a Nobel peace prize, that makes no sense at all
He did some great stuff but he didnt save any lives tbh.
Awesome information. Can't wait to read the book.
His voice is amazing.
One interview has created two heroes for me: Edward Snowden, for his personal sacrifices to maintain his integrity and inform the public, and Trevor Noah, for being the only person working for a media corporation that is risking his career to voice the truth through the airwaves. Two rare peas in the same pod.
YiannisPho Watch John Oliver’s old interview with Snowden where he went to Russia and the interviews where he talked about it. He risked a lot to get there. Not trying to undermine Trevor thought, because he should also be commended for giving a voice to Edward Snowden.
Hazel Singh you think they give a shit? They’re british they’ll just get deported. They don’t care about us Americans. We need Americans back on tv.
CBS MORNING interview was garbage. This one was🔥
Trevor did great here but I don't think he's risking his career. If he is, so is everyone else working behind the show, ie the executive producer for green lighting this interview to happen in the first place. A talk show host is just a catalyst for writers and producers. This interview may have very well not even been trevors idea. Plus the ratings are probably going through the roof for this.
Nice
My IQ just went up. I could listen to this guy all day.
Donovan Nungasak really ?..
Sam T. Because it is. Don’t be rude.
Edward Snowden is an inspiration for me. I always dreamt of learning higher mathematics and computer science to help the society, but somehow couldn't think a way to do that. This person just provided the ultimate goal: Using mathematics and computer science to create encryption standards which are mathematically proven to be unbreakable, so people don't have to worry about governments and corporates. The science will empower the people to have privacy and live a life independently. I am still in school, I don't know how far I can go and achieve, but I am sure Mr. Snowden has inspired thousands globally to stand against the constant surveillance we are under in this generation.
I can't believe you interviewed him, I love it.
Snowden, he is so thoughtfully articulate and incisive. Very impressive.
makes hit hard not to see his point.
he's like a movie character.
if u listen to his first couple of interviews he wasn't so well spoken and much more confused like a regular person, he learned this over time which makes perfect sense as well, imagine having an interview every 2 days or in his position it's basically constantly, coz he's so well known and many people ask him questions all the time
Yes this is very impressive that I think they must've rehearsed the main talking points beforehand - which is totally normal for these kinds of talk shows. It doesn't mean that he can't be as articulate ad libbing though. Some of his lines were delivered like it was written straight out of a book or a political campaign, the choices of words were incisively precise.
Bobby Zachariah So was You Know Who, and a lot of people thought he was impressive. Read In the Garden of Beasts.
"Consent is only meaningful when it is informed and they lied to us."A good line
And Edward Snowden is a better liar than any of them ever were. First Clue? The information Snowden ACTUALLY STOLE:

what amazes me most about Edward Snowden is his humbleness, clarity, care for freedom of the people and his bold bravery.

Amazing. The composure that Snowden has is unbelievable.
That's what makes him a hero. He has ascended to the Mr. Rogers' Level of Zen. No mere mortal can do such thing.
His composure comes from the conviction of his actions.

Was Benedict Arnold articulate to? So it’s ok to reveal top secrets to foreign nations if you think it’s ok. Instead of using proper channels. He is not a hero, he’s a trader and should be treated as such. Stay in Russia trader, are come back and go straight to prison.
@@robertgregory9160 so is Trump
Robert Gregory - what ‘secret’ did he share? The BIG secret that caused all the hoopla was that the USA was recording EVERYONES phone conversations... but everyone already knew that! I work for AT&T on the cellular side in the network group, way back when it was Southwestern Bell Wireless, then Cingular, we were working on routing ALL calls through their systems. It was a MAJOR project, it required and still does, involve a boatload of people and that’s just one single carrier. Every trade publication wrote about it, it was common knowledge! Did Snowden steal or take classified info, maybe, but that’s not been released. What’s been released was already public knowledge!
For that reason, I hope he never returns to the US xD
He can be a comedian shows how he is so smart he can enjoy listening to his talks with profound knowledge on the law.
