I say Mr. Snowden is one of the best speakers I have heard, ever. I have never formed an opinion of him because he is not one to share much of himself.

A brave man and always a gentleman- his address about Lindsey made me cry. He put his wife in the light she belongs. She was wronged- and misrepresented by the press and he righted it in his book and in this interview Whistleblowers generally care about the institutions they are protecting, but he sacrificed everything. I was told during my briefing on the day I applied for my clearance that if I were to leak any shred of classified information even if it was unintentional, I would not only lose my job but I would "never ever see the day of light ever again."

I'll admit I never paid attention to him as a person. This was my first experience with him. Beyond all of the nuanced, intelligent, honest awesomeness, this is a very rhetorically effective defense of his case. He hits the ethos, the logos, and then--in that last section-coming in hard with the pathos. And all this with a poetic packaging. He _almost_ brought a tear to my eye.
Snowden was and is a traitor to the USA and should be in prison for the rest of his life.
