Somebody in China ordered 500,000 umbrellas to be manufactured and there was some confusion concerning metric vs imperial measurements. Thus the Cell Phone Umbrella was invented.

My feeling was that they made these umbrellas, but nobody bought them, so some genius came up with the idea to add a suction cup and the rest... is history.
You're missing the main use of the umbrella... and that's holding it above your head before being struck by an implausibly large falling boulder.
After you sprinkle birdseed with either ball bearings or buckshot in it.
I remember when my favorite phone gadget was a cord that was long enough for me to go down the basement steps for privacy

Had to be the Beige Box for me. Sneaking out in the middle of the night and having casual conversations with phone sex operators on my neighbors' phones for hours on end...well, that's classic 10-year-old Me!
ETA: Or the two-port RJ11 adapter that let me leave both my modem AND my telephone plugged-in at the same time. Those things were awesome at the time!
Tip for that umbrella thing: Use it in landscape mode. It's designed to let you prop the phone up and watch videos hands free while blocking some sun so you can actually see the video.

Sir, this is a Banana Phone.
I could see someone riding a motorcycle or bike during winter using the Chubby Buttons over their jacket sleeve. Much easier to use if you're wearing a helmet because the helmet blocks your hands reaching the controls or trying to mess with your phone while in transit. You could also probably attach the Chubby Buttons to your steering wheel if you don't have control buttons on it like a lot of recent models do to control phones, radios, or consoles. $80 is a steep price, but it might be worth it for your safety--and your life!
Yea, it does have some use for certain situations like that, but $80 is way too much in my book.
I have one it’s nice, but the included strap doesn’t get very small. So unless what you’re trying to attach it to is at least the size of a forearm it won’t work. And the price is too high.
I rigged attached mine to my electric scooter and the extra big buttons are handy. But no backlight is another negative.

I've got a JBL bluetooth speaker that works like a padlock that not only controls my phone, but also has a speaker. Ditto for wireless earbuds...this thing's pretty much obsolete.

lol, that umbrella may actually come in handy in Vegas. I remember having a hard time seeing my phone screen out there walking outside during the day in the summer sun haha. Also it was the only place my phone started to overheat outside. Seems dumb, but you may actually get a use for it lol

I've seen cell phone hoods that are more practical, easyy on the pocket as well, foldableand dog proof...lol!. I have trouble seeing my screen in bright sunlight. They don't make those hoods for my phone :(
I'd think it's better for going to the beach. If you still want to get a tan - but not kill your phone.
or just get a samsung , their new phone has the worlds best anti reflective screen
I think a better use of the umbrella is to shade the screen so it can be seen in sunlight.
Definitely. Most recent phones are at least ipx4 and can withstand rain.

Since the umbrella has a silver lining, I wonder if it’s meant to reflect light when taking photos with flash. Professional photographers use silver umbrellas in studio photos to direct the light.

Seeing Baileys positive impression of the phone umbrella reminded me that you've done dog toy reviews in the past. We need a 'Barkin' Reviews' 2nd channel that focuses on dog toys/products which your dogs can give reviews on. I'd subscribe. Maybe 2 videos a month? Bailey ALWAYS gets the upvote!
I could see the phone umbrella for very specific situations. I've been on a beach chair trying to read a book on my phone or check a video and pulled the blanket over my head to cut glare. This would be a bit more discreet, LOL-- but only if I"m situation for the 'long haul' read/view. Deflecting heat would be secondary.
I wish I'd had the umbrella on previous trips when my videos didn't get recorded because the sun washed out the screen and I couldn't tell my phone got turned off instead of on! I'd gladly give this device room in my backpack.

If you have no info on that umbrella, then let me ask you this question.... are you sure it's for rain cuz it has the underside coating of one of those light reflecting umbrellas for like diffusing light when you're taking photos and stuff like when you're getting professional pictures taken. Could it be some sort of selfie or videoing light diffusing umbrella type of situation?
It's for shade from the sun he didn't say it was for rain.

The phone umbrella is hilarious but maybe useful. My phone battery takes so much abuse in the summer because my brightness is always all the way up.
That umbrella would be great as a doll umbrella.

I have a microfiber cloth that works extremely well on all my screens - iPhone and 2 iPads, plus it cleans my eyeglasses perfectly!😊

Everything but the chubby buttons seems like landfill trash. The buttons are actually are a useful product that seem to work well, however at $80 its too expensive unless you really need it for runs/biking/whatever.

Chubby buttons is a good idea but should have been rechargeable. I have plenty of 2032’s for my car remote but it’s annoying to change them all the time. Having to tap other things twice to first wake it up kinda gets on my nerves, wouldn’t want more devices that do it too.
Depends on how often you need to change the batteries for it. If it lasts 6 months each battery then who cares. With a rechargeable battery the product is guaranteed to eventually fail, so its a tradeoff.
Thing is you can get like a smartwatch for like under 20 bucks these days that does the same thing, and is a smartwatch, much smaller, and much more multifunctional. Just look for a smartwatch that offers media control functionality via an inbuiltapp, or if it's an android wear (these are however more expensive) they can access a huge variety of apps that can control all sorts of things. Alternatively if you want physical buttons most bluetooth headsets these days (which can be had for like under 5 bucks some places) have this functionality too, increase volume, forward back, play pause. If you don't want to actually listen to the headset just use the media output setting on your android phone (I don't know about iPhone) to have it play through the speakers instead.
That flash defuser is more used as a camping lantern. I have one that i use a lot on my camping trips. Its a different model, but works the same.
So it isn't a bad product if you use it the right way 😁.
That phone umbrella would have been great for when I was doing Lyft over the summer! Phone In a phone mount on my windshield would get a weird glare or over heat in direct sunlight
I previously bought a nearly identical phone umbrella at Five Below for my partner to use when grilling outside in the summer, to keep the sun glare off his phone so he can use it while monitoring the grill. It's silly, but it works! Allows you to see your phone screen in direct sunlight. Bonus was that it came with a basic plastic case for storage.
If you are not wearing boots, hats, mittens and jackets etc - its not really cold out there. I'm so jealous

I used to order stuff from Wish. It took so long to arrive that I would have no clue about the item. One arrived in a box all in Chinese with no instructions. A couple of items arrived and I had no idea what they were! Included instructions are a plus - especially if they have pictures.
That Umbrella will work as a rain protector for your phone too 😁.

I have those screen cleaners. I got a 2 pack from a dollar store & it included one like what you showed & another smaller one (about half the size) that is on a keychain, which is a pretty useful way of carrying it around. They work great. I've had them for several years now.

The Chubby Buttons seem the most practical of the bunch. You can keep your phone safely hidden while using the CB. The cost is a killer. You should keep an eye out for the knockoffs.
Yeah I can definitely see a use for those, but you're right that knockoffs will likely come along at half the price, if they don't already exist.
Phone umbrellas are fairly popular in my country and I usually see delivery services (that use motorcycles) that use it a lot on their phones mounted onto their motorcycles

What the “flash diffuser” did show was how many of those camera apertures are actually used in taking a photo. You got a decent exposure even though 2 apertures looked completely blocked.
I think the idea for Bailey's umbrella phone is to help with sun glare more so than heat. Cmon. You know it's hers. 🥰

I think you put a lot more thought into the umbrella than the maker did.
The Chubby Button seems way too expensive for what it does, particularly considering it'd only really have niche uses for when you're wearing gloves or maybe to function as a remote trigger for your camera. Especially since if you're using it for music or video watching while out in public, a lot of wireless headphones, (other than the earbud only ones), have built in buttons for controlling volume, skipping, and pausing media. I think it does have some uses, but more as a $20 gimmick product.

I have the chubby buttons device and use it to control my music while riding. Having it strapped to my arm is great and provides a control center.
I could see that lantern being useful if the power goes out.
I would go for the cleaning balls, which have lots of uses. Now, the umbrella would be helpful in the summer! I hate using my phone and can't see the screen because of the sun. So, I am off to Temu, I am going today.

I would use that night light when I travel to Europe. They have 230v outlets there and it blows the night lights I bring with me. Just have your phone plugged in at night while the light is on.
Don’t bother with buying the lamp. Popping a transparent bottle over the light works as good, if not better! I tend to use a water bottle.

The phone cleaner seems like it’s microfiber and the real good microfiber cleans so well I’ve never had my phone screen so shiny and clean as when I bought premium microfiber cloths vs cheap so much better they work fantastic
Take a tiny milk carton (uht type that are too small for an actual portion) and an elastic band. Empty milk out first. Make two small slots in rim of carton, hook elastic band into same, wrap round your phone. Now you have a flashlight diffuser for free that won’t cover your camera lens so much. Or cut a piece of silicon/parchment paper/tissue paper.
Oooooo, dang... james got the bubble of shame under that screen protector. That's what he gets for thinking of the cone of shame.
I could definitely live happily without any of these products!😂
