  • Destiny 2's Lore and story tells us about The Fanatic Fikrul and his place in the upcoming story involving the Witness, Lightfall and the Final Shape. As the former leader of the Scorn Barons he has a vested interest in the well being of his people. But it's unclear if this is going to be in service to the Witness or whether he will tread his own path to buy his people their freedom.

    For the Fikrul question: I am uncertain because of a few things...
    First, Fikrul's hatred towards the Awoken for driving him and his scorn out of the Tangled Shores would make our encounters with him more hostile than ever before.
    Second, his hatred towards us for not only killing his brothers and sisters within the Barons, but also for killing Uldren, the man he called father, the one he wanted to protect at all costs.
    And third, Crow's wanting to make up for his wrongs when he was Uldren Sov, with Fikrul being one of the wrongs that he wants to fix.

    Here's a crack theory: Fikrul is being held captive and the Witness is forcing the Skorn to be their shock troops. Why would I suggest this? Because wouldn't Fikrul want to make contact with Crow as soon as he was revealed to be rezzed Uldren? Especially since the Skorn on the Leviathan made contact and would have seen his face. It's just weird that we haven't heard anything from him. Not counting the possibility he got shoved into the same vault as Forsaken anyway.

    The root of Fikrul’s immortality is the wish magic of Riven. If we find a way to break it, we can potentially break the thing bringing him back. How we do it is another question entirely. I think the path that crow has been lead down will lead to him once again meeting with the Fanatic and trying to fix what uldren did in some way. Whatever happens, the goal of this interaction is to weaken the witness, either by causing him to switch sides and join us, splintering the scorn and losing the witness a sizable part of its forces. It could also be that the witness is simply using fikrul to make new scorn and ending him will again weaken the witness. Either way, pay attention to crow. For example a new kind of bar appearing overheads. Like you’d see fellow guardians in strikes or assistant fallen from spiders ranks or cabal from Kaitil’s, there could be a new one added that changes based on the events. A new added color could be a possible Purple as it’s between blue and red. Similar to those of live event in previous seasons, the players choices in game could affect how the story goes. The missions involving the season of the seraph, and a recent one with the civilization of the eliksni in the last city.

      That could be a red herring. Who knows if Nezzie still won't find a way to "rise again" in some way through Osiris, there's still the pseudo-prophecy in the "Nezarec's Sin" lore tab to consider. Part of which sounds eerily similar to the premise of Lightfall:
      ""When the guiding shine fades and all seems lost He will call to you. Fear not. All He offers is not as dark as it may seem. For Nezarec is no demon, but a fiend, arch and vile in ways unknown. He is a path and a way, one of many. And his sin-so wicked, so divine-is that he will never cower when dusk does fall, but stand vigilant as old stars die and new Light blinks its first upon this fêted eternity.""

    I think both eramis and fikurl will reach a breaking point and either turn on the witness and be destroyed. Or they just abandon the witness and neither help us or hindering us, they just stay out of the fight and just survive with what few survivors that can peel away from the witness. In either case I think they there will be a civil war between the followers of the witness and the followers of eramis and fikurl.

    Finally, I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about Fikrul. Ever since Forsaken was vaulted we have completely lost tabs on him. We don’t know where he is, what he’s doing or what side he’s on. You’d think in all this chaos with the scorn popping all over the system the Hidden would try and find Fikrul as fast as possible, just to see if he’s the one behind the new scorn.

    I could see Ina future season, the forces of the light facing down a massive overwhelming tide of scorn and Fikrul showing up with a solution, something along the lines of flooding the battlefield with 'light' aether, counteracting the dark aether and reverting all the scorn zombies to their dead state, while the light and dark in the aether cancel each other out. This could take place in the Eliksni quarter and we'd have to go in with guardian servitors to collect the newly cleansed aether to prevent some our more ambitious Eliksni friends from snatching it all up and becoming a Kell with an army of archons, barons, and captains at his back (or her back? Possible Eido connection?)

    On the subject of 'wild cards' there's also the Savathun with her Lucent Brood, the Vex that aren't part of the Sol Divisive and maybe Clovis Bray I depending how this season rolls. If any of these including Fikrul were to go against The Witness, I'm seeing not as allies but more of an 'enemy of my enemy' scenario.

    I want to see interactions between Fikrus and Eramis. She could show him what the witness is doing to the fallen and they have something in common that they thought they could give fallen a new power to make them free. They or savathun could play the same roll that Mara sov played in the taken king. Kamikazi

  • @hekem8854
    @hekem8854 Před rokem

    I remember during one of the previous seasons, the one where we had to hunt down and free the "tech witchs" in the ascendant plane
    During our missions, we could find locations where Mara comments on how the scorn seems to be showing signs of a sort of culture, a basic one involving combat I think but still
    If so then it could be a situation like the forsaken from wow (my lore knowledge is weak so apologies if I'm way off the mark)
    Essentially some when raised are no better than zombie puppets, but some are able to retain a sense of self.
    For Fikrual to join our side or at least declare neutrality, it has to be revealed that the scorn do indeed feel & think. Maybe on a small insticual scale but still.
    It would be a baron that most likely reaches out to Mara sov, she sends us out not telling us the whole story.
    We meet up with here contact to find a bunch of scorn appear, it goes like a normal fight but just as we are about to do the finishing blow, the boss baron speaks, and makes his/her plea for us to pursaude Fikral to speak up and fight for his people.
    I think its possible.
    I do also agree that he would then become a wildcard faction, similar to the lucent hive if Savathune ever gets ressed.
    I think the stage is bing set so that it doesnt bcome a darkness v light battle
    It bcomes something else? (At least i think? I dunno)
    This is all stuff i thought about while eating my breakfast so sorry!

    In regards to the Scorn becoming more than just mindless soldiers, in Season of the Lost, it is seen in the Ascendant Plane that the Scorn have started developing some type of culture. They were doing gladiatorial-like fights in a arena in the plane. I kind of saw this, as something similar in concept to the Crucible, somewhere fight, practice, win glory, and still be revived even if they die as far as I know, Scorn can be endlessly revived as long as their body parts are still attached with Dark Ether or whatever the Witnesses if it’s a different.
    I kind of hope Bungie would continue this story because I thought it was so interesting. I was wondering whether being connected to the Witness directly after the Glykon caused this, since the Darkness is so linked with memory, I was wondering if being closer to the Witness was having an effect on the Scorn and would intelligent Scorn be created from this.

  • @williamwh810

    I'm a little late to the conversation since I got behind in the videos, but I feel like Crow could negotiate an alliance. Crow has knowledge and a connection others don't. I can see a mission where you are fighting Fikrul and then Crow steps in to ask you to spare Fikrul so he could talk to them. If Fikrul does want a better future for the scorn then they could negotiate a place for them like what happened with the eliksni. The alliance consists of multiple forces that fought each other and now are working with factions of each other. Plus guardians and scorn are both technically beings that have been resurrected. Not sure how this would affect missions where Fikrul and its loyalists were enemies though.

    laying it out like this draws a bit of a line in my mind that during forsaken they switched the narrative up to the witness thread, like yeah we have always had pyramid ships and sure they meant to have a big bad the whole time, but what that big bad could do seems to have been left in the air until forsaken and then with shadowkeep boom this is the plan going forward and i feel like the witness wasn't supposed to control the scorn at first, i think they were just a nebulus faction that now forsaken is vaulted needed a home and it just made sense they were a thing of the witness

  • @rootbeerguy690
    @rootbeerguy690 Před rokem

    I personally feel like there's a third possibility past the Yirix and Eramis routes, and that's a sort of Xivu Arath route, with Fikrul being subservient to the Witness, but still able to act as a leader for the Scorn, like how Xivu's loyal to the Witness but is able to control her Hive. To me, the Witness knows leaders can be valuable assets, with Xivu's tact and creation of the Wrathborn and with Calus's cloning operation acting as his way of creating a military, so the Fanatic could prove to be similarly valuable if he has no wavering loyalties with the Witness, having someone capable of resurrecting both himself and other Scorn forces on the Witness's side could be a great boon on the battle of attrition in the Sol System. Besides, you could make the argument that he even already has his own Glaive in the form of his staff

    Season of the Seraph’s writing seems to hint at Rasputin dying. Either permanently this time, sacrificing himself to ensure humanity’s survival, or temporarily. As his namesake could have him come back later, having survived another near-death experience. He could also return as a Guardian, having possibly met the criteria to be chosen by the Light. His son was after all, and perhaps regain his memories as the Warmind. Or, something much more unexpected could happen as a twist: Eramis sacrificing herself, her own life, to save Rasputin’s. In an attempt to ensure his safety after Rasputin is kidnapped by a servant of Xivu, and we, along with Eramis’ sacrifice, save him. But, this is just a theory, as Bungie once intended to use this storyline of rescuing Rasputin from Oryx back in D1.

    So i feel like it could go something like this. Crow interacts with Fikrul (maybe some character development, maybe guilt felt from Uldren Sov side), Fikrul and him semi repair their relationship. Fikrul works with us begrudingly like Eramis does with the Witness. Fikrul becomes Lucent Scorn leading lucent scorn for us. Him having a ghost can overwrite part of the wish magic making him "mortal". Witness enhances the darkness in scorn to mark them as his forces bisecting the scorn people. Witness kills Fikrul through his ghost. (insert part where we are supposed to be sad) Fikrul being dead kills the lucent hive as a whole. Eramis sees this the connection to eliksni which pushes her off the deep end to break away from them and make her own house allied with house of light.

    I've been thinking about this for a while, since in one mission or activity (I can't recall which) Fikrul is specifically brought up- specifically, his absence. The snippet is about not knowing where he is or what he's up to, despite the Scorn being all over.
    I think it would be super interesting if they had Fikrul fight AGAINST the Witness in order to protect the Scorn's autonomy. Obviously he hates us, so it would be more an 'enemy of my enemy' thing, but it would be a super interesting plot-point if they did it.

  • @cardyceps7728

    My head cannon is that we will eventually team up with Fikrul, resurrect all the barons and use their combined powers to steal something from witness like in those casino or bank robbery movies.
    And of course there will be moments of discomfort during this story, but it will all end up in all of us slowly going away from some kind of Witness’ facility while it is exploding.
    Mithrax - hacker
    Fikrul - the team leader.
    Machinist - she’ll get the stuff needed for the robbery
    Mind bender - he’ll be that guy who pretends to be a guard or other bank worker to get some data or infiltrate more easily
    Trickster - probably same as mind bender
    Hangman - one of those to brake in and destroy crap while shooting an smg into the roof
    Mad Bomber - the guy who brakes the vault door
    Rifle man - probably same as Hangman
    The Rider - she’ll be the one driving.

    No way is fikrul joining the coalition. The reason he resurects every time is due to riven’s wish magic, and fikrul’s wish was to be there when the guardian (us) died.
    Fikrul is firmly in the pocket of the witness, even if it’s solely out of spite

  • @MATEUSthe7th
    @MATEUSthe7th Před rokem

    Correct me if I'm wrong, Fikrul is M.I.A somewhere on the Tangled Shore or elsewhere in the system and at least to my knowledge has not came up in recent lore books. During the seasonal story for Lightfall or before The Final Shape bungie needs to address Fikrul, Crow/Uldren, and maybe Mithrax as well in a seasonal narrative. In season of the Haunted Crow accepted and learn from his past life as Uldren as well as being the sole reason of creating the first scorn and the race entirely so it would make sense if for Crow and Fikrul to interact before the final battle and not during it to potentially give the scorn a choice in the final battle, fight for the Witness, fight for the last city, or withdraw from the fight. But as for Mithrax coming into play, the Scorn were once Eliksni perhaps Mithrax could welcome Fikrul and the Scorn to the Eliksni Quarter or at least help them gather their barring to set up their own version of the Eliksni Quarter elsewhere. Either way I want to see Fikrul come back into the story but as his own person and not as servant to one side or the other.
