Very nice catch! This is to-be a historical video. I hope to see the final runs of GEXR 431 and get some footage for here too when that time comes.
Any idea on what’s been happening with the Burford lately and if any hoppers are still present at Ingenia?

Thanks! I am glad to have caught this, they did run one more train the next day but that was just to clean things up and prepare for CN taking over, this was the last real 597 ever. While i miss the SOR units, it is good since CN is using old 4 axle power to lead the trains on the line, almost like stepping into a time machine. Currently they are using a trio of GP40-2Ws to power both the local and the road train! If anyone misses the railfanning days of the 1970s and 80's, all they gotta do is go to the Hagersville sub lol.
Right now SOR is still serving it since their Hamilton operations haven't been taken over by CN yet, that won't be until December. There are rumors that they will be using a contractor's trackmobile to move the cars down to continue service, but we will have to wait to be sure. So that technically means no more actual locomotives on the Burford spur no matter what :(
But there may still be freight cars being moved over it essentially.

TheBrantfordRailfan hey, so I’m not quite sure about Brantford but here in Brampton we’ve had quite a snowstorm last night and today. This was the first actual snowstorm to cancel the schools in like 4 years. Well I’ll admit, we has a couple ice storms and such but the last actual snowstorm to cancel the schools in Brampton(not just the buses) was Feb 2015. Anyway, so one quick question, has there been much activity going on with the Burford this past winter in terms of using the track mobiles or do the seem to be having some success with them?
Still breathing myself up for not taking at my few chances in 2017 to see em on the Burford, I just kept telling myself ‘eh no rush u still got time’ and before I know it it’s too late!! Wish I could’ve seen more of the SOR operations too 😭
