    I just got a 17 inch grill for my wife and I today. I followed your advice for seasoning, and the made some Oklahoma onion smash burgers. They were awesome. Very much like the ones I make in my cast iron pans, only this time, no stove to clean up! Thank you Todd for the great tips. It cleaned up great too.

    Todd a ten inch dutch oven works great for the grease. When done heat up to 350 for half hour then dump out. Helps season the dutch oven. Just a tip. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

    For my grease cup I place reynolds wrap in it and put a folded paper towel in cup. Then remove it and grease cup is clean.

    Q: How much bacon can you cook on that thing?
    A: How much propane you got.
    Before the Blackstone, when cooking bacon in the kitchen, I always cooked at least 3 lbs. I figured 1 lb or 3 lbs, you still have to scrub grease off everything, and once bacon renders it keeps well, and is easy to reheat.

    Hi Todd,
    After watching this I want to see what you think of an idea. If you had a second rear grease cup, you could have one catching the grease and hang another right next to it. With a pan on the ground to catch wayward grease.... When the trey starts to get full, slide them both at the same time (like two boxcars on a train) so the full one moves to the side and the empty one moves into place immediately. Then you can empty the full trey and reverse if as the second trey gets full.
    A theory at this point, but wouldn't it work? That would make more sense than trying to pour it into a pan......I think.

    I always like to start around 350 then let it get some color then pump it up to finish it off. Bacon cooks initially quick but takes a bit of heat to finish off.

      Hey there. We will see. Both Walmart and Blackstone want to do a tour but there are obviously lots of hurdles now. We have people working on logistics right now to see if it can happen. If it does, and it is nothing more than an IF at this point, we will definitely have Texas on our itinerary.

    I have a dumb question probably but I’m new to this. After you cook with that much bacon grease being on there, do you still scrape the chunks if any and clean the Blackstone/apply your oil? Or since it’s bacon do you just leave it for your next cooking?

    Awesome my brother, I recently purchased beef bacon and it was great but expensive. I just purchased my 1st black stone today and finished assuming it. I will start my first experience tomorrow. Beautiful family, you just need a couple more girls to balance it out. 😂. I have my hands full with 1 grown son and my granddaughter.

    Flip the bacon before it cooks and it cooks better, like put bacon down for a min then flip and flip again after another min, never gets wrinkly

    So....I cook 7-8 lbs of Bacon at a time. Then I take 2 slices and cut them in half put the 4 pieces in a snack bag, press the air out and stack completed bags on a door shelf in the freezer. Pull out a bag, 45 seconds in microwave.......perfect every time and no mess.

    Hi Todd. I'm a newbie to griddling 🙂. I recently bought the same griddle that you're using in this video. I live in BC, Canada. My problem is the griddle I bought from Costco didn't have a lid like you have on your griddle. So my question is, where can I buy a lid for my griddle?     Do you save your bacon grease? I still do. Great for making Yorkshire pudding if you don’t have beef grease. Also great flavor for other cooking.

    That is a significant amount of bacon and another great video. What I can’t wrap my head around is the chance encounter with the fan. Those odds of connecting are astronomical. Someone from AR visiting CO just happened to cross paths - idk maybe 500,000:1 odds. Let’s hope it was just a coincidence. Tread lightly when handing out free stuff. There’s a good reason why you don’t feed stray cats. Other than that a great video!

    i gotta say, you made that look way more complicated than it really is. you dont need any stupid bacon presses, or any extra grease traps. i cook bacon on mine all the time, in 3 to 5 pound cooks. takes like 6 or 7 min.

      so glad i saw your comment lol. i am using my Blackstone for first time and am starting with meal prepping 6 lbs. of bacon. i felt discouraged because I don't have any presses. I was thinking I could use some metal baking sheets if necessary.

    Hey Todd you’re in CO I’m in north east OH where it gets really cold. Not as cold as CO but cold nonetheless. Is it worth firing up the blackstone when it’s frigid? Or just give it longer to heat up and cook. I have the 36” with air fryers. I’m out of propane and it’s cold so I’m bumming about not girdling. I love the blackstone. Just watched your 12 pounds of bacon. Mouth is still watering. Have a merry Christmas. Hope to see you on the road.
