Oh, that last one got my blood boiling.
A coworker of mine recently had a kitten that got out and went missing for a week, when they finally found it, it's lower jaw had been destroyed. The vet said it'd most likely been from a golf club or a baseball bat. They're looking at thousands in medical bills, surgeries, and *hoping* that it survives. The person responsible will probably never be caught or face any punishment.

I'm sorry the OP decided to wait for the girl who's always late to show up late again. I think part of OP's problem is he/she is mad at themself for falling for it again, and is turning that anger outward. Oh, that reminds me of another Reddit story. Can't remember if it was AITA or a revenge post, but I'm like 80% sure it was an AITA post.
I don't remember the story exactly, but here's what I remember/a general ghist-
OP was doing wedding planning with their fiance and their parents are known for being, I think, an hour or so late for everything. So, OP decided to make a special invite for their parents (I think the fiance was on board with the idea?) that the wedding was at a earlier time instead of the original time. I'm pretty sure the parents were mad when they realized.
So, moral of the story is unless you don't wanna be late for something or don't wanna miss out on something, either be there on time or be a few minutes early

Just sitting on my back porch watching the deer and other critters on cold mornings just peaceful and relaxing. Now, the neighbors' dogs, cats, and others whenever they come over get their share of attention too. but most importantly, there are monsters in the world that dump animals out here that we, as a community, take care of. Getting fixed, fed, and getting a home. None of us out here are rich, well... maybe a few are, I don't know, but all of us love our animals. Beating on a dog... If they did they wouldn't be advocating so hard against abortion. There is a passage that describes quite vividly what you're supposed to do in the case of your wife being pregnant & you suspect you aren't the father.
When I came across that one, it became super obvious that they either hadn't read it or they ignore the parts they don't like (which is obvious as well when you look at the divorce rate). Bunch of hypocrites imo.

I find the snooze button story relatable because I'm the one setting too many alarms to make sure I get up at a decent time. I had really bad insomnia for 10years to the point where I'd often wake up with headaches/ migraines from lack of sleep. A few years ago it just went away. Idk why, but I'm not complaining. Though now I have the problem of never being able to get up on the first (or hell even second or third) alarm. I've tried placing my phone in odd spots all throughout my room, but half awake me will just grab it and flop back into bed. My dad will get annoyed because after I do wake up and come downstairs I typically forget to turn off the rest of my alarms till at least one goes off (sometimes I'll think the one that went off will be the last only to find out 10mins later that it wasn't).

      @emmitbrown3851 Před 2 lety +2

I found a different solution to that problem: I got a bunch of 12v lights and attached them to a clock. Whenever the alarm goes off, the lights turn on with about 2000lm and wake me up pretty much instantly. Now I also have a good reason to wake up with the alarm clock (i set an alarm 5 min before the lights) to turn off the light show befoe it starts. They are also useful because they illuminate my room for the whole morning before i head off for work and are way more powerfull than the original single bulb.

We simply started lying to them. If we wanted to be on the road by 7:00pm we told everyone we were getting together for final gear check and packing at 5:30. There's a reason it doesn't turn off right away, which is something that became very clear to some passengers a few years back: the plane was at the gate but the seatbelt sign was still on and yeah, people unbuckled and starting getting up and opening the lockers. Then suddenly, the plane jerked forward. I'm not sure if it was slightly short or what but it actually ended up crashing into the bridge and damange the engine. There were minor injuries as people fell over.

That part about always being late could have been written about my grandmother. She (like my wife is) was chronically late to anything and everything. It was bad enough that we (extended family etc) just started sending her special invites, with the start times set up to an hour earlier than all the other invites just so she could show up reasonably close to the start.
The snooze button story. I'm the type that has a real hard time falling asleep if there's an unexplained noise in the house. A drip?, I'm going to check every faucet in the house until I find etc. But, once I'm asleep, you could set off firecrackers of beside me, and I'll sleep through it.
My 'alarm clock' was a 100 watt stereo with an alarm function on it, usually worked to get me up in the morning.
I have no idea of how many times my friend, and neighbor 'C' (trusted enough that he had keys to my house, garage and cars/trucks for emergencies) showed up in my bedroom, shutting off the alarm, shaking my shoulder and telling me "Hey man, it's time to get up and head for work"
Luckily we worked the same hours, but at different companies, and his was a lot closer than mine. So it was an inconvenience to him, but not a problem.

Also, as OP pointed out via the video, the client was made aware of who the "judge" was, and then paid up. Judiciary Ethics Committees take filed complaints seriously (when merited with proof), and complaints are kept on file, so it's there forever...and if they do decide to investigate, it's a media nightmare. It's not likely anything will become of it, but in the end, even though the client was in the wrong for not paying as agreed, OP ended up sounding like an Entitled douche with extremely petty anger issues. The awful friend story was me in high school. My bully, let's call her Eve, bullied me from the day high school started to the day we graduated. Eve was always on me like ugly on an ape when it came to bullying.
She was the captain of the Dance/cheer squad ((big surprise there)). One time, I was visiting with some of my friends, who were on said squad, and here comes Eve doing her bullying thing.
Suddenly, one of my friends, who happened to be the co-captain, stared Eve dead in the eyes and snapped at her "KNOCK IT OFF, EVE!!!". Of course, Eve was *shocked* that she heard that...
Years later, another friend of mine set up a thing where all the classmates could meet ((on my birthday, no less...)) and I made a joke at a party, in high school, that I'd "heck out of dodge", which I knew it wasn't gonna happen. Guess who then comes bouncing into my PM's all palsy walsy as if nothing had happened.
    Yep, Eve herself.
I know what you're probably thinking. "This will be a GREAT oppritunity for you to be friends and bury the hatchet!', right?
    Wrong.
She keeps going on and on about "wasn't high school great!?" and "We had sooo much fun together, right?!". She even sent me a friend request so we could catch up. I didn't reply to it ((I know, I know, petty on my part, but if you went through the stuff I went through with Eve, you'd understand....)).

Going no contact with a toxic person is always a good choice.
Maybe she changed, maybe she hasn't. If first contact wasn't an abject apology, block and ignore, in my opinion.

7:42 honestly, that's a good way for someone to wake up if they are really bad at waking up on the first alarm there's even alarm clocks that will run away from you on the market or phone app alarms that won't shut up unless you solve a math problem

For the driver waiting on a friend to show up so they can go to a party - in the future, instead of deciding together on a time to go, announce what time you will be leaving. If she’s not there when that time comes, leave without her.

The second story when it happens to me
"I have a friend, family, worker, that's always late. We got an invitation to be at a party at 6pm and told not to be late. I live about 30minutes away and told my friend, family, worker, that I'd be leaving at 5:15pm. They weren't here at 5:15pm so at 5:16pm I left"
    End of story.

6:35 this reminds me of myself, except I have a sleep disorder and alarms just simply _don’t_ work on me, and I turn them off in my sleep lol. Even if I move my phone I’ll still manage to do it while half asleep and pass out again. I actually just slept 19hrs last night

Haha, my wife uses her phone AND an alarm clock, set 5 minutes apart, starting at 4 am. She finally gets up at 5:45 am so she can scramble out the door (to not be late) by 6. This has been going on 5 days a week for years.
I got her one of those alarms that light up like "sunrise" to help wake her up. We talked about it first seeing as *she* wanted the clock. Now ”sunrise” is at 4 and gets repeated every 9 minutes. 🤦

To the friend who was always late. I would have just gone to the party and ignore her for the rest of the day. But the revenge on her is great.
