      MEDICAL SCIENCE

Since I was a little child, i asked my father
    "father, who is Mahatma Gandhi?"
    "Father, who is Nelson Mandela?"
    "Father, who is Desmond Tutu?"
My father explained everything he knew about these great people as much as my father could explain.
When i grew up, i found quotes and books about their struggles. When i entered the world of the internet & the development of world cinema, i watched films about them.
in the CZcams era, i watched original videos documenting the life stories and struggles of these great people who defended human rights and independence. One of them is through the British Pathe channel (thanks for that). a very valuable documentation!
i'm increasingly amazed by Mahatma Gandhi, "The Great Soul".

Gandhi, Bhagat singh, Subhas chander Bose, etc were all working towards same goal but with very different tools. All played its part in liberating India.
But in my humble opinion non violent movement is longer, more difficult path to pursue. It needs divine courage to face violence without reaction (i.e. you resist the evil but not the person who is perpetrating) but our ancestors had this courage.
Gandhi realised that Indians deeply believe in Law of Karma and he utilised our strengths to give us moral superiority over British. British had no answer to the power of truth.
Greatest weakness and strength of British Empire was its sense of superiority. Gandhi neutralized it with truth.
Only god is perfect and no one else is.

Then he for the first time met gandhi during farmers revolt in Gujarat. Just one meeting and he was so inspired by gandhi's character that he left his barrister practice and joined the revolution. This shows how charismatic gandhi was.

Some people now picks few instances where his actions don’t conform to their ideological biases. People bring Bhagat singh Rajguru and sukhdev often to find a excuse to hate him but they are gullible enough not to read Bhagat singh’s letter in his last days. He himself understood the value of non-violent consistent struggle. Further Gandhi doesn’t need someone else opinion for validation of his tactics. See around the world big peaceful sustainable changes happens only through non violence bargaining. If not you end up being Afghanistan, Syria etc. For Indians- ongoing farmer protesters initially thought about going Bhagat singh way but that failed and now all the civil society groups are going with Gandhian ways. He was truthful to his conscience but ignorant ones hopes he would have acted in revolutionary way which was certainly the Great One was against. Both Gandhi and Bhagat contributed in India and Pakistan’s independence but Gandhi was more mature in his approach.

People have decorated the classroom by writing famous quotes and there are 2 that stand out to me, one from Winston Churchill and Ghandi side by side.
