  • Some miscellaneous clips of flying the Quicksilver Sprint single place ultralight.
Digging through the archives I found a bunch of previously unused video of the Quicksilver Sprint.
In my opinion, the Quicksilver Sprint was one of the most reliable, safe, and fun to fly ultralights. In reality, the Quicksilver Sprint did not meet the 254 pound part 103 weight limit. It actually came in with the basic airplane with no nose wheel steering, no instruments, wooden propeller, and no add-ons weighing in at about 270 pounds. This required that we certified even the most basic of the Quicksilver ultralights as an experimental light sport aircraft.

The single seat Sprint and Sport are such SWEET flying airplanes. Training in the big squishy two seat Quick then transitioning to the single seater is such joy.

You're so lucky that looks so fun to fly! I currently fly paramotors but I've always wanted one of these . much more of a real airplane feel and look. And no more running with a 65 lb motor on my back ; )

I can use one of those here on the ranch. Check on livestock or see if the river is running high. I could even take off and land in my pasture. The problem is I don't know how to fly or, it would be a no-brainer.

    Love the video...
I have been flying quicksilver for some time....but never have I seen the extra tube on the right wing...could you explain that...

When you said that I was confused. I didn't remember any extra tube on the airplane. I had to go back and review the video. I think what you're looking at is the bridal for the ballistic parachute. It runs from the axle up to and around the tubes that go back to the tail. Look at it again, and if that's not what you're talking about let me know.

The STOCK MX Sport is indeed pure Part 103 but mods can, and are often done to exceed the weight of 254
