  • Quicksilver Sport 2S being used as training for converting a GA plot to a Recreational aircraft licence.Too many GA pilots have come unstuck by trying to fly an ultralight like a Cessna, hence the need for conversion training in Australia.

    This is almost an exact duplicate of the Quicksilver trainer two seater ultralight that I trained in and ultimately soloed in. Great fun as well as a little scary ! Back ln the day ,of course .❤😅

    I'm an ultra light pilot myself... I fly with closed cockpit. But when I see you guys fly like this... ahhhh.... lovely! The freedom... the wind... When I see you guys fly like this, I only want to do one thing... get up there with you guys!!! Gracious landings! :-)

    Reminds me of the fifty or so solo bunny hops I did after a few hours dual training in a Dragonfly. The last one I did was too high to land at the other end, so I had to choose landing on the clear field on the other side of the fence or continue the takeoff---which I did to about 500 ft. I did one circuit and landed. From then on, it was all altitude flying--no more bunny hops!

    Ha Ha, it might be perceived as a flying chair, but it is a brand that is being enjoyed by many thousands of MX and SP2S owners worldwide. If you check the specs you will see that they are a very safe and strong " lawn chair", with figures of plus 6 and minus 4, compared with a Cessna of plus 4 and minus 2. Thats why there a so many Quicksilvers on this planet being flown and loved.

      @@jamesordwayultralightpilot What Is Islam?
      Islam is not just another religion.
      It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
      Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
      It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
      It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
      The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
      { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)
      Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
      Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him

    Awesome, isn't it? Nothing like an open cockpit, (in the summer), and low stall speeds ! I used to fly an ultralight, a Cobra, by Advanced Aviation. Now I want a 2 place. The more STOL capable the better. That S2 seems pretty STOL-ish👍

    Nice video thank you for sharing. two questions if I may...what engine are you using on this one? is there an issue with shock cooling when you cut the engine for the PFL's? I am a GA pilot, I see you are having too much fun with these open cockpits , so I want one too :-)

      You practice in the grass because when the engine quits, there won’t always be a nice strip of asphalt waiting for you at the bottom.

    • @douglasbroadway4715

      You take off when the plane wants to fly, no since letting it roll on down the runway. These are real aircraft no RC toys.

      Randy Behrens I said the same many years ago when a friend invited me to come watch. After learning about their strength, FAA requirements, and overall air worthiness, I realized how safe they really are..., much more so than General Aviation/LSA planes. You can land one in a very surprisingly short distance

    • @treylem3
      @treylem3 Před 5 lety

      ...a couple of months, alot of 'studying' them, 2-3 demo flights, and 5 hrs of 2 seat instructor training, I bought one. I don't like getting on top of my house...but it's just different. Trust me, or not, it's the truth. If you ever change your mind, listen to your instructor., fly safe, and altitude is your friend. They glide great, making it easy and safe to 'put it down' almost anywhere, if you ever needed to. I flew @ 418 hrs and never had an engine out, except the one I did on purpose for practice, after many 'power at idle' landings. I had a friend who's engine went out while climbing, after takeoff. He simply picked 1of 20 diff places he could've landed, and landed.
      Be sensible. An old saying...There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots., but there are no old bold pilots. I'm always thinking...'where would I land if my engine stopped right now'.

    • @treylem3
      @treylem3 Před 5 lety +1

      ...oh yeah, the 5 hours of instructor training cost me $250.00 total. I learned to fly, all the way thru solo, for 250 dollars ! It's not much more than that now, if any.

      Darrin Graham Yes, foto any ultralight airstrip and you'll usually find ultralight , hangers, and pilots. Ask around, don't just take 1 person's advucs, ask many, and be sure to ask the VETERAN pilot's advice about who he would recommend as a good CFI. I went to FLIGHT WORLD in Greer S.C., but they are all over. Ask around, go to closest airport or grass strip and politely ask. Google mat help, but idk for sure about google.
