From what I've heard, if you track an E46 M54 you should look at the engine. There's something wrong with the Oil pickup if you track it regularly. Chris Fixit engine blew up because of that
Love your content! I know you hear it all the time, but it's obligatory. If you don't mind, I'd suggest your first change should be camber plates! Soft springs and sway bars will help you feel the weight transfer, but those non-adjustable struts will kill your times (and tires), beginner or expert. I know you've done your research, but I wanted to throw in my $0.02.
Might need a therapists help for you to put your mechanical sympathy aside for track/drift driving!

I only found sretens channel earlier this year and I lost about 3 weeks of my life binge watching every single video he’s ever made! I subscribe to 100’s of channels covering all sorts of different subjects and his is definitely in my top 3

10:35 Pressing the DSC button once only partially disables traction control. Hold the button for 5 seconds to fully disable it. The handbrake light should turn on together with the traction control light. I think it was still on.
He's talking about the lap that Sreten did prior to this when the traction control was left on (which can be seen on the M539 channel). For this lap, it was turned completely off.

As I'm ex owner od 325i e46 this video for me is one of the best You did. It reminds me how buttery reving M54 engine was. Maybe not very quick reving but so pleasent to drive.

That is how I got to know of you, Misha, and I have subbed to your channel when Sreten came to fix your M3, and y;all went to take out the fuel pump, when in reality you had forgotten to put fuel in! Glorious. A very nice round on the NLS. Sretens E46 looks amazing and now with a smooth powertrain. Maybe next year @Misha could take my fun toy 328ti Compact with my own calibrated 2.8l for a spin. But I need to upgrade the front brakes with BMW compound rotors and Ferodo DS performance first. And course steel flex brake lines. Otherwise that would not be so smart to go on the track.
Man, i watch every M539 video pretty much ever since he started and misha has always been all over the place for me in terms of me watching hea content but man im clad streten is getting into track stuff cuz while the restoration stuff is so fun to watch and learn stuff from it has started to fade for me and im more into racing stuff nowadays so this is just a dream coming true with sreten building a track car and misha giving it the “mishas seal of approval”. Misha keep the content coming and sreten for you too

I did the same swap with the addtiion of an e46m3 lsd/ rear end. It was fun for a family wagon.
But still very comfortable. Although it never felt special.

Limited slip diferential, mcperson upper mounts from m3 e36, acentric front wishbone bushings. You will fall in love with how the e46 drives after these modifications. if you are installing coilovers that only increase camber, consider turning them to increase the caster angle of the kingpin (caster)?

My friend I love your channel but the first thing you do and I've been driving since 1980😊 you do the suspension sway bars as thick as you can get them up front 30 mm rear 28 minimum brakes 6 piston up front sharks adjustable track settings and then you let the test driver do it you did it ass backwards , forget comfortable you need to fill the bumps exactly it doesn't matter if you want to use track car then don't play around with it it's a safety issue as well I can't believe you did that!
