The Alpine A110 is seriously underrated. Great chassis.
Those who know, know that it is a very capable and light car. Not underrated by any means.
suspension is too soft, but power weight ratio seems very optimal.
it's just the motor+gear box that are boring, great chassis

Alpine A110 suspension setup was used by Gordon Murray as reference point for GMA T50 because he thinks it is perfect performance/comfort setup. And also he had chosen A110 as one of his daily drive cars 😁 that speak for itself of how good A110 is.
I like how he said that his team has taken the Alpine apart to find out what is the secret trick that makes this suspension so good, but they have not found anything extraordinary, it's just a perfectly tuned double wishbone suspension on each corner of the car.
I like even more that they already had a lotus taken apart at the factory to use as reference for the T50, but then choose the A110 over it
I really like the HP/torque values and lean angle in the instrument cluster next to rpm, don't see that often! Really nice car

Well,it's an Alpine,a company that buys new cars from BMW and tunes them untill they re near perfect just like RUF does with Porsche,what can we expect? Just like RUF ,they have an excellent reputation and history in the racing world.

Alpine has been created in the late 50s by Jean Redele based in Dieppe on a 4cv basis as Ferdinand Porsche did with the beetle.
Fortunately alpina has nothing to do with it wich is just a bm tuner..

Very happy to have lend our (her) car to Misha and how swiftly he drove it.
Now she want to try Spa though …
It is the GT setup which for us is perfect.
The car has around 12K on it, still retaining factory tires.
After Misha’s lap, it still showed 7.7 liters per 100 kms (the rest being driving around 1K kilometers on the highway to the Ring) which is a nice bonus.
To anyone considering meeting the true potential of their car on the Ring, I would highly recommend giving a shout to Misha (I did through Facebook).
Only disappointment is that I didn’t get to experience the true speed 😅
Being from the US, I have heard of Alpine, but don't know much at all about them, but man, the induction sound and quickness of the trans would be a blast of a daily car to rip around.. What a cool car, looks are a bit subjective but no one can say that it wouldn't be a blast to own.. Cheers!!

I am french and proud of the new Alpine A110, a true sports car: not very powerful, but with its incredible balance, its low weight, this is a beast when there are turns and corners!
I would like to test it on the French Alps. And have real fun.
Misha's IRL lap in an Alpine be looking like my Gran Turismo laps, holly crap that car looks like a blast!
Speaking of GT, I only got to drive this on GT6 and that droning sound at peak revs is spot on in the game.

Misha putting on a spectacularly considerate lap. All done so at pace but smoothly for his passenger. Takes proper skill to do, as ever.
With so many videos/cars and as you approach 1 million Misha, an idea that I thought would be awesome is a series on FWD, AWD, mid-engine, RWD and the different lines and approaches you take to driving them on the Ring. So many people go and completely fuck up, wreck or otherwise ruin laps for others it might be nice if they had a video to reference some tips. Love your content, good luck next weekend!

What a nice little car, always liked the quirky French cars, R5, 205 GTi , Clio RS..... but this is much nicer, superb power/weight ratio.. and she liked every second of the ride 👍

Awesome drive and passenger reaction as always, But wanted to add that having the steering angle plus the power and torque figures shown by the car is really cool, lets you see exactly where Misha is putting the power down and how much, shows the finesse of the steering.
That’s the Race mode standard display which is cool when watching a video afterwards but In the heat of the action …
That hp and torque indicator is pretty neat, wish more automakers do that
Beautiful handling. This car proves that 205 wide normal street tires are more than enough, if the weight, balance and suspension of the car is right.

She was brilliant entertainment to watch. She said a few silent wows on many a corner exit & never took her eyes off where a corner exit may be. Mischa asks at the end " are you alright" yeah but you did move her glasses on some of the bumps was my thoughts and she said "WOW", perfect

unfortunatly nobody would pay 60k$ for a 4cyl in NA, the would prefer a 2 tonnes car with a 300hp 6.0l V8...
you can tell Misha much prefers when the paddles are mounted to the steering wheel rather than the steering column lol, great driving as usual
haha yeah around the 5 minute mark you can see him slightly struggling to find where the upshift paddle was and getting disrupted by the other stalks

I much prefer them being fixed in one place so I know where they are no matter the hand positioning and steering angle. Well, here's a request to car manufacturers, make two detachable paddle shifter sets, so that everyone can customize it to their liking I guess
An interview with the cheif engineer said they did the best they could but much of it is parts bin stuff, Renault gave them a tiny budget not seeing the car as a big seller, it's honestly amazing with what they ended up with.

I own a A110 GT. Amazing handling , very fun , good sound , perfect for b roads. The softer suspension makes the car feel more lively on public roads. Even the soft set up works well on track . The lady has an impressive fuel economy. The Alpine has great mpg just driving normal thanks the lightweight ,small turbo plus dct.
Love the engine sound, induction and its responsiveness :-)
That dash though, all the information and I was torn between watching the track and the instruments, A+ to your passenger too, she looked like she was really enjoying the ride!

Not sure if you know but the 1.8t is fron the Megane 4 RS just tuned for more output and the suspension is also from a megane RS.
Basically a RenaultSport with a different body.

In addition to the race itself, I also liked the sound of the exhaust, everyday, not prowling, but at the same time it seemed like a racing sound.

Love the Alpine A110. The clean design and the performance is just 👌!
Unfortunately, it is often ridiculed because of its French roots and the small 1.8 turbo I4 engine. It's proof that you don't necessarily need big engines to compete with the big boys.
I saw a video where an A110 R chased a GT3 RS ring taxi and the Porsche didn't manage to outrun the little Alpine R. She stuck to the GT3's ass like a terrier! It's all about weight 🤷♂!

..it's just stupid. I am amazed that we kept being top performers at rally, f1 and so on with all the restrictions we have to deal with. Indeed because of regulations renault/alpine cannot go higher than a 1.8l ... but luckily this car is doing good with this small engine. With age I am becoming more of a châssis guy but with the money they ask for this car it's hard for me to overlook the 6cyl. Turbo bmw cars... therefore I wish to own an Alpine but ending up with a. M140I :)
@@lmartinmiami82 Nah...you don't need a big engine. The restrictions in france are not good, but the Alpine is not the only car in it's class which runs a 4 cyl. engine. Just look at some Lotus cars or the beautiful Alfa Romeo 4C. They all perform well. Just keep the weight low! But you're right. The Alpine is too pricey and i can understand why most people go for some cars with bigger engines for the same price. Or even less! I'm from germany and the goverment here sucks too 🤣. German cars are good, but I'm not really interested in them because you see them everywhere here. Good, but nothing special. I went for a 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia last year and i absolutely love it! Greetings 👋🏻.

Looks awesome inside and outside and is constructed very nicely.
The sound is lovely and not too much like with some Lambos or sth that are just noisy..
The lightweight does its job very fine and you can see how smooth it drives.
