  • As I stayed here in Indonesia for few years I got adapted to people, culture and food. People here are fond of spicy food which I got used to it and I believe my taste buds changed too. I love to eat spicy already. Every time I buy food, the Indonesian chili sauce which is called sambal is always present in the menu. I love to put sambal terasi to my fried fishes, fried chicken and even to noodles. Thus, I asked one of my Indonesian colleague to teach me how to make Sambal Terasi. So, below are the ingredients for a simple Sambal Terasi- shrimp paste chili sauce.
    4 cloves of Garlic
    5 small Onions
    2 big Tomatoes
Chilies (the amount is according to your choice - spicy or very spicy)
3 cubes of Shrimp paste (Udang Terasi)
A little of salt according to taste
A little of sugar according to taste
    1 tablespoon of oil

Thank you for your comment, sir . There are more than hundred types of Sambal or chili sauce and it depends on what you preferred. I still preferred the sambal to be more saucy the same as what I bought here in a local restaurant. So, tomatoes made it more saucy which I love the most. Thanks.
