Is it me or FutureCanoe sounds happy and alive today?
It laryngitis
he just loves grandmas
It's just you
He sounds like he got some part of his soul back, guess demons had enough of him
just you pal
For Camila's chicken roll recipe I'm 95% sure the "msg liquid" she was talking about was maggi seasoning, which i'd be surprised if you didnt have
May have been Worcestershire sauce as well🤷♂️🤷♂️😂
@@udhavsharmaaungnoo9142honestly could have been any number of sauces
Most Americans have never heard of maggi. But yeah, Worcestershire could do too
Most Americans dint know what Maggi brown sauce is... But that's definitely what she meant.
Yooooo maggi is where it’s at
as someone who's worked in kitchens for almost 10 years i have such a love/hate relationship with this guys videos. he never follows ANY of the recipe's properly but he sounds so chill and he's just cooking at home so i let it go 😂😂
Yeah, and he's so aware and clear about when he's deviating, and never blames the original, it's a vibe
@@jonnanino exactly! lol he's always like "i fucked it up, but im sure the recipe is actually good" definitely a chill dude irl
like the recipe that called for goldfish crackers and said its important but he uses some rittz crackers 🤣
@@stockpicksbytim1228 Struggle meals, no?
He also pretty clearly has some kind of culinary background be it culinary school or cooking as a job.
I saw German Potato Salad and said “oh no” out loud 😂 if there’s one thing I know, it’s that different parts of Germany have VERY different ideas of how their potato salad should be
Indeed and as someone from southern Germany all I have to say to this is, THAT YOU DON'T PUT MAYONNAISE IN God damn POTATO SALAD!
@@Daniel_3322 clueless.
Oh yes! My family is from east germany and ALWAYS mayo and mustard but never mashed potato! The mashed potatoes made me cry inside 🤣🤣
How would you summarise those differences? I'm from Central Europe, and we used to eat potato salad with meatballs in my family, made with boiled potato cubes, gherkins and a mixture of sour cream, mustard and mayo.
@@erzsebetkovacs2527 there probably are to many variants to Name them, but for exanple where I live you make potato salad mainly with sliced potatos, oil, vinegar, cooled down vegetable broth and salt and pepper. So as you can see it's just completely different from what you just described.
You're very kind to your subscribers considering they can't be bothered to send you oven temps or times
He probably asked but didn't show the messages 🤷♀️
Yeah ... am mildly frustrated people are also sending unfinished recipes. What were they thinking??? They're lucky FutureCanoe can still make it look good.
@@elucifiedInstagram will restrict the length of messages from people the person they’re sending the message to don’t follow. So because canoe didn’t follow them, they can only send a limited amount of characters to him as their first DM. One of the subscribers apologized in dms because they reached their character limit and couldn’t send the full recipe. That’s why canoe said “I’m the problem it’s me”
@@elucifiedBruh, stop being petty
@@elucified he says at 3:56 that his dms are limited, they probably forgot and tried to send more but couldnt until he responded in order for more to go through
Everyone agrees, all grandma's cooking is elite.
Mine wasn't.Lord knows she tried,but.85% of her meals went straight into the trash.
Neither of mine could and my mom can't cook either. My sister and I learned how to cook so future generations will never have to experience the torment we grew up with. Then they'll never appreciate it and just eat mcnuggets and fries.
My grandma cooks fairly well but she doesn’t usually cook and isnt stereotypical enough to make cookies
It tasted great, but it was far from healthy.
My grandparents used to be pretty fat.
Half n half, the other side of my fam has my grandpa who cooks rlyy good food whenever we're over at their house.
i think im addicted to your videos
ive been binge watching them
everybody's grandmas so creative
“fine dining/prison food” describes your channel pretty well. i love it
I mean, I think caviar used to be eaten by "poor" people and lobster was served to prisoners as an actual meal (not reserved for those who were sentenced to death)
“
It holds pretty wel-“
gay
@@3ilverim4ge did you know that lobster used to be a poverty food. yeah it fucking sucked to eat with the shell on so rich people were like “lmao fuck you have fun eating your crunchy fish” but then once they figured out you could remove the shell they were like “oh damn actually this bangs. this is ours now”
this is half remembered secondhand information but i think the general idea is true
@@stardust-reverie I think that I did read something like that, but I did't' really know about the shell thing. I just wasn't sure when it transitioned from poor people to rich people food and why...
I love watching someone redefine a genre. Thats you man, you're doing it better than anyone else. Between you and Ordinary Sausage bringing humor and a lack of seriousness to making food, real shit.
love my NSE's
Try yousuckatcooking
Ye, the 2 kings of semi-ironic cooking
I like YouSuckAtCooking as well
Everyone forgets ,"YouSuckAtCooking". He was the og😢
I recently lost my last grandparent. My grandma (aka Abue) passed away this last Thanksgiving evening. I couldn't agree more with your last statement about cherishing grandparent's recipes. My Abue's favorite recipe to make and share with us were Tlacoyos, which is a Mexican dish using masa, and they're stuffed with beans and cheese and topped salsa and crema. She was 99 years old when she left us, and her recipe will always remind me of her and the stories she would share and the many memories I have of her ❤
...And for that, I thank you for making this video. Keep doing what you're doing. I love this channel.
You're so... kind and weirdly wholesome. Thanks for being you.
i never thought i could be so inexplicably attracted to a faceless someone who often makes the most inedible looking food i’ve ever seen yet here we are
FRRRR
Amen
He’s got that mysterious man charm going on for him sksksk
he got really nice forearms/hands 👀
@HowAboutAHug even the lower part of his face looked quite attractive 😂
As a Brazilian, I have no clue what that cake was, but cool to see some form of brigadeiro being represented. Would love to see you try a normal brigadeiro ball though.
First time seeing brigadeiro and honestly it looks so yummyyyyy 😋😋
didn't post it so no one would roast him and could have found out better, and ENDS UP GETTING ROASTED BY THE FAN.
9:51 but i’m just impressed with how well it’s holding its shape-“ (food falls apart and footage cuts)
Just got into cooking recently. Two days ago I asked for my grandma's recipe for a dish she likes to cook and she happily told me. I got reminded of this video and its comments. It fueled me to learn more from her
he finally showed emotions, hes growing im proud
He's growing.... Next step world domination
LOL it’s all the betterhelp promotions 😂😂😂😂😂
As a Brazilian, I have NEVER seen this strawberry cake in my entire life
yeah same i was very confused, hr did ok with the brigadeiro pelo menos 😅
poğaça is more like a snack for teatime or for breakfast. Its best with black tea and you can also use curd cheese or olive spread in it.
What kind of an olive spread?
you're always so wholesome mr.canoe and the few wise words you add towards the end of your videos are what i look forward to. thanks for being you and sharing your cooking with us. you're my favourite youtuber 🌷
The sausage naming situation is actually kinda funny. The sausage in question originated in Vienna (Wien), Austria, and is therefore called Wiener sausage in Germany and other countries. Here in Austria, we call it Frankfurter sausage, which most people think is because of the German city Frankfurt, but it was actually the name of the butcher who (allegedly) invented it.
thanks for explanation
Thank you for that 😊
In Spain it's also called Frankfurt sausage. I dunno why we adopted it's Austrian name.
@@elpito9326 Hint: it's the Habsburgs.
In North America it’s known as “Vienna Sausage”
19:39 his ``Alright Thank you`` is so cute
My favourite 🥺🧡
He's adorable
That brigadeiro looks pretty good, I'm impressed you got it right the first time! if you put it in the fridge for 15 min then you can roll it into balls and cover in chocolate sprinkles, that's how they are usually sold here. (Brazilian here)
This was so cool to see so many grandmas' recipes. Even with some hand mixing and radioactive meat it all turns out well as long as your have love and canoe level determination!
Woah that end… my grandma passed away 2 years ago and I keep cooking her recipes, we miss her a lot. I think one of the best ways to be remembered is by passing your recipes down to your descendants. Love your videos man, please keep it up ❤
Im Turkish, that pogaca looked pretty spot on! I wish Eser wouldve told you about the sesame seeds, theyre my favorite part but still. We eat pogaca in the morning with our breakfast, on the go, or just as a snack while having some tea between breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner, glad you enjoyed!
Okula gitmeden önce yada giderken yenen poğaça + mide yakıcı meyve suyu >
Intriguing how the same word (pogaca, pogácsa) means this in Turkish and a small savoury snack made with fat enriched dough with cheese or pig fat in Hungarian.
@@erzsebetkovacs2527 countries like Hungary, Turkey, and countries in the Balkans share a lot of foods with shared/similar names, so it doesnt surprise me! Pogácsa also sounds awesome :)
11:26
Am i the only one that heard "your sister sause" ? 😅
when he made the butter tart my heart skipped a beat. Such a good Canadian treat
As a brazillian I've neever seen that recipe for cake before. She probably forgot to say to add cake flour to the recipe, because our cakes are not like flan. But the brigadeiro looks nice, we call it brigadeiro mole - mole means soft, and we eat with a spoon. But we also have brigadeiro balls that are sweet treats culturally made for birthday parties. You should try it.
The FutureCanoe community is kind of like one big family where everyone is the weird uncle.
Yoooo HAHAHAHAHHAH this is so funny
Omg ended on such a heartwarming and wholesome note ❤❤❤ keep it up with the amazing content, FutureCanoe!
Interesting take on pogácsa, looks delicious :)
In Hungary, it's usually a small, circular appetizer, with grated cheese on top, sometimes with diced pork cracklings (tepertő in hungarian) in the dough. My grandma always put some sour cream in the dough, it was delicious.
I'm now wondering whether this Turkish pogaca might have been what our Hungarian pogácsa grew out of.
This video is really wholesome - I know people like to shit on your food for giggles and it's part of your brand, but I really enjoy your channel and cooking. Your down to earth approach makes me feel like hanging out with a friend and watching them cook, instead of some internet people showing off their cooking. Thanks FutureCanoe, hope you have a good holiday, and I hope you keep making more radioactive foods!
damn I'm afraid of the rating for my grandmas recipe
btw she asked why the bacon looked so gray on the picture you sent me back
edit: y'all should give it a try to the chicken roll it's amazing, I always eat like 3 servings every Christmas
I think this would end up being the dish that puts me in the grave 😭💀
are you filo?? it looks like chicken galantina and we also have it during christmas (i don't really like it tho)
Sure why not will give it a go... With normal not green chicken and not gray brown bacon.
Gonna be real I feel like it would be legit if you gave the roll a quick sear in a pan after it got cooked to crisp the bacon up a bit but it looked surprisingly edible
Did you explain to your grandmother that it was radioactive bacon?
I love me some you man ur monotone truly relaxes me and i just enjoy how u do ur best with what you have for the recipes u make thank you ❤
His humour is what makes me want to be his best fren
I Feel like you enjoyed connecting with your fans way more than you thought, and more than any of us could understand, I'd love to see content like this more often! was very wholesome
I can barely express how happy I was to see you do butter tarts (pie haha). Top tier Canadian dessert
same!!
FutureCanoe, you did it again, another video thoroughly enjoyed. The message at the end is true. Happy Holidays.
18:25 nahh man lemme give you a hug.😭😭
I love butter tarts but she’s definitely right-the biggest ones I’ve ever seen are maybe three bites 😂
about the brazilian recipes: i'm brazilian and neither me or my husband ever seen anything like the flan!
but you nailed it with the brigadeiro, looks so good!!
Probably some troll, but brigadeiro can save any sweet disaster for sure 😂
tbm achei mt estranha essa receita kkkkkk
I think she forgot to add cake flour in the recipe. It was supposed to be a cake. And that's why he thought it was similar to a flan. Also why the texture was so strange and wet.
Diaper explosion 😂 someone please post an actual recipe
Tbm nunca ouvi falar, mas a ideia é interessante se bem executada 🤣
I always enjoy the ways you cook and make recipe. Great video as always man :]
What a beautiful sentiment at the end, thank you!
I would love to see FutureCanoe cook some of his grandparent’s dishes for us after this
maybe using radioactive meat was his grandparents' teachings all along
It's super rare to see pogača filled with cheese, it's basically just a bread. But even if you fill it, you don't put in the melty kind of cheese, you use something like cottage cheese. Probably tastes great either way tho
Yes and some ppl also fill it with minced beef. Always delicious with tea!😋
in turkiye you can get them with melty kind of cheese from many bakeries. i would definitely recommend for you to buy or bake some 😊
In Turkey, poğaça filled with chese is really common! We also have poğaça filled with olives as well!
in Slovakia its quite common to add minced pork crackers into dough or cheese into dough ,we are basically just instead of filling them adding filling as ingredient of the dough .
@@it_is_what_it_is269 Same in Hungary, very common to add minced pork cracklings and cheese mixed into the dough.
This makes me wish I knew the recipe of my nana’s brown soda bread recipe. I know it wasn’t complicated but by God it was fantastic ❤ My aunt probably knows the recipe because man I want to make it. I miss nana
Aw that was beautiful at the end. When are you gonna show us YOUR grandparents' recipes, Canoe?
Your words at the end made me think about my grandmother's legacy.
She was a well-known pastry chef in my city, but her age does not allow her to work with that type of stress, so my sister decided to learn her recipes and one day open her own pastry shop.
W sister ❤
18:10 as a brazilian i am crying
hope there’s more like this! Great video bro
At 15:00 when he’s like “I’m doing like 20 raisins” omg. Canoe. That was so many raisins more than 20
18:00 please don't come to Brazil 😭😭😭
That potato salad Killed my German soul😂
Da seh ich mich leider ._.😂
It hurt watching tbh xD
Wenigstens sind die Zutaten die richtigen. Aber die armen Kartoffeln. Die haben diese Behandlung nun wirklich nicht verdient.
And this is why germans tend to explain everything in detail so the poor potatos are rescued.
it was the only time I didn't like his enigma fork...
Very nice!
And the conclusion was heartwarming.
watching this man getting better at cooking and social interaction has truly been something special to view, keep killing it mr canoe future man
I feel like you're thriving more and more with each video. This one was a little bit different (no abominations or biohazard recipes), and seems like we all loved it. Don't be afraid to experiment with your format ;3
BUTTER TARTS!!! Can't believe you made those, they're a staple here in Canuckistan. They're usually small, though, like a lil two-bite baby tart.
Raisins are totally optional in butter tarts, IMO. I prefer them without.
It's like a pecan pie without the pecans.
yeah i always ask for no raisins when my mom makes them 😂
He is one of those CZcamsrs who feels like a normal human .. I love the reminder at the end..he sounds so gentle…
That ending was so touching. Thank you
This was a great video! Such a clever way to bring a sense of community to your channel. ❤
I like the quotes he includes at the end of every video, they always have something 😁
Damn that outro almost got me choked up...I've had to cut out 99% of my bio family in the last few years, all except for my mom who I'm actually trying to repair things with from childhood, and now my fiance's family is all I have. It's not that I didn't have good reason to cut everyone out, but it gets hard sometimes. That part about connecting deeper with the people who care about you just really got me in the feels. I love your channel and this was a really wholesome video
I'm so happy seeing FutureCanoe making brigadeiro from Brazil, it's been long since I watched someone making a dish from here
FutureCanoe videos are always so wholesome and genuine. You just make me happy, man. I hope doing this makes your happy, too. ❤
Good day sir
As a brazilian, brigadeiro can pretty much go with everything. Depending on how you make it, you can even eat it as is.
Next time I suggest you trying out our other national treasure "Coxinha". If these two dishes makes us happy, I don't know what effects they'd have in foreigners.
3:10 The story behind such a simple dish as a Christmas dinner is that most people used to work on Christmas in the past, so when you come back home from work at 5pm or later, you neither have the time nor energy to prepare the feasts which many people nowadays associate with Christmas dinners.
Outro was really wholesome. I actually never thought about how important family recepies can be
Your editing is so great, I haven't finished the video but had to say I love the bit of the bacon slowly taken away in the food processor.
damn i would've loved to send my grandma's dragon boat festival zhong recipe! still have yet to taste a better one than hers (and that's not me being biased because everyone who's ever tried it says the same thing B) ). it's pretty labor intensive but i would have loved to see him tackle the wrapping and tying parts. been learning for years and mine still turn out ugly and misshapen every time lol
edit: just finished the video and that heartfelt message at the end made me feel really emotional. my grandma died a few years ago, and the times when i feel most connected to her memory are the times when my family and i all gather to cook her old dishes together. thank you for the comforting words and for the sincerity in all your content, they are appreciated more than you could possibly know.
Agreed that food is the best way to connect with others. This was a cool video I hope you do another like it in the future
I hope you do this again so I may participate you inspired me to digitize my grandmothers entire cook book with some recipes dating back to 1800s!!
upload more often bro
you're like the best food creator
Man, I didn't know this was going on otherwise I woulda sent something in. The Liver Stuffing one made me think of something my grandma brings to Christmas every year. My grandparents raise Pheasants every year and there are quite a few that die so my grandpa usually cleans them and freezes them. They eat a lot of pheasant. Anyways, they always wind up with a ton of pheasant livers and my grandma makes Rumaki with them. So good.
Literally eating like a king damn
aww but i do love your videos ^_^ im so happy i found you today!! i can’t wait to watch all ur videos

Natural German here:
In Germany, we have all kinds of sausages. One of them is the "Wiener Würstchen". "Wiener" are called like that because they're from Wien in Austria.
"Wurst" means sausage while "Würstchen" is pretty much a "cuter" version of it, usually used when they are smaller. The potato salad was a failure indeed. You gotta try to do more German dishes. Would love to see. Would love to send you my "Gulasch" recipe.
Gulasch ist aber ungarisch 😊
I lovveee your chaneel and as a brazilian I am very happy to see some of our recipes here!
I'm actually cooking one of my favorite things my mom makes (palak paneer) for a potluck next week! I'm excited to take my first crack at a recipe I've loved so.much from childhood. It really does give me a sense of connection to my family when they're far away. Hope everybody has a good holiday too!
Please give a warning next time you show emotion. That really freaked me out. Thank u
As a Turkish fan, I would like to see you making more Turkish foods. The way you interpret the recipes is so entertaining to watch because I knew the original one. I would also like to see you rate my favorite dishes.
You actually did a pretty good job with the pogácsa. It looks accurate to what I can buy at home in the bakeries. Altought there is no cheese filling for those, usually. Still, you brought back a few childhood memories of me baking pogácsa with my mom for school events, so, nice, thank you! :)
Watching this makes me wanna call my grandma so I can cook with her
FutureCanoe sounds like he has found happiness today
Paşam yarım tarifle poğaça yapmış, kudos to you for making full out of a half recipe...
