    hi Rich, firstly, thanks so much for taking the time to do these vids - they are amazing. Can I ask a question, I have a 2010 Audi S5 4.2 v8. I am going to supercharge w an m112 from a Mercedez S55. do I need to lower comp ratio? stock is about 10.5. I want a daily driver, not a blown engine..... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      you need good fuel, intercooling and/or lower comp-people run boost at that compression all the time-tune is improtant

    Would love to see a test of an engine set up for the dyno (open tb, dyno headers, electric water pump, etc) vs an engine ready to go in a car (filter, ps, alt, ac, etc) to give everybody an idea of about how much we lose getting it ready to drop in our vehicles.

      He did it to a ls2 and it was about 80hp loss or so and he did his van as well usually 100hp is pretty close so 500hp = 400 wheel or so

    Can you test overlap vs boost loss. 10 pound pulley 3 camshafts -9 overlap 2 overlap 12 overlap and see how much boost is lost with each camshaft also how torque is affected

      the boost control is always based on the size of the flow orifice-internal gates are usually smaller

    3:30 or so I don't see the boost levels for the 5.3 BTR setup, you say it's lower and you'll put them up but they don't appear to be there.

    Could you use a boost control valve then pully the blower to max shaft rpm? That way the the boost psi would stay at a controlled psi to reduce variables.

      No. Boost is controlled by rpm on centrifugal blowers. Boost controllers are for turbos

      @@EGGINFOOLS I believe you are technically incorrect on this. Smoothboost makes a "Centrifugal Supercharger Boost Control Kit" that is very similar to what @freyja4954 is talking about. There may be others out there too.

      Even with a controlled wastegate/bov on a centrifugal, the boost will still be dramatically different at 2000 rpm than 6000 rpm and is never recommended by blower manufacturers nor will it allow the centrifugal to do what a turbo does

    Richard I’ve watched the comp cams snippit video of where you procharge a 5.3 and made over 1k HP. Using comp cam 54-477-11.
    What was the setup on that build? I know afr heads.
    Also when gapping the rings for boost most are doing for turbo. Any difference for centri blower?

      need gap for and boost-hi ram, afr, forged internals (not needed though), Pro d1sc or D1X

      Ring gap is ring gap doesn’t matter what the boost is. Turbo vs blower?
      Did that 5.3 have store bore? The afr heads That I looked at says 3.900 bore. Even some of the ported 799’s by some companies say the same thing.

      I have a 11 Tahoe lc9 that I’ve owned since 16 with 59k miles. No issues etc. when I got it I did a small 216/220 high lift tsp cam, longtubes etc. basic boltons.
      Now it’s at 195k still no issues but I’m wanting to do a procharger so started looking into it etc and came across your video. Which lead to many other questions etc. mainly the head thing.

    Is it possible to retrofit a LT4 supercharger, on a LS platform? If it isn't possible, then why? I can't find ANYTHING about it anywhere.

      The low (blower) intakes are not interchangeable between LS and LT motors (different heads)

    Do you have a video for 5.3 short pipes test?
    I'd like to know now low starts gaining some HP.
    I do have a 2017 SUBURBAN, and I drive it every day. I'd like to know if short pipes it's the right choice in my case. I do not go more than 4000 rpms. Thanks!

    What was the static compression on the 6.0? I built a 408 forged parts but around 11-1 and am considering putting a procharger or vortec blower on it and keeping it around 7-10 lbs.

      you don't need a stroker with a turbo, the 5.3l will make all the power you want with boost

    can I ask for some help Richard, im building my gen4 LS2 I'm wondering if ive purchased the wrong Turbo, my engine has a 3040 forged Lanati 4.100 Crank, 6.125 manely H-beam rods, 4.000 forged JE pistons as engine has only done 70,000km so just getting it honed, im using the stock Gen 4 heads wit duel springs and rockers done, cam is 277/284 607/617 lsa113, using LS7 lifters high rise intake 102mm TB, I have got an s400/498 98mm billet Turbo with T6 suppose to be capable of 900-2000hp is the turbo to big ive got 1300cc 120lbs injectors not sure of fuel pump but will be minimum 500gph I have pretty much everything in the engine is beefed up should I get an S400/488 or even s400/480 with T4

      the injectors are not big enough for a 98mm turbo (if that is the inducer size) and i would not have chosen a 4.100 stroke crank with a factory block sleeve length-you don't need the added displacement, you have a turbo

      @@richardholdener1727 thanx Richard from what I can find out the 6.0-6.2 gen 4 do have a longer sleeve so not concerned about that, the gen 3 6.0 are the ones that can’t take a 4.100 stroke, so the turbo is to big yes that is the inducer size, a stock size of an s400 is 75mm, they do a 75mm, 80mm, 88mm, 92mm and 98mm, I can buy a smaller turbo the 80mm and when I get my head around the turbo thing as I know nothing about it I will order a new turbo the 80mm seems to be the middle and ill look into bigger injectors

      the stock sleeve length in a production 6.0l or 6.2l block (regardless of generation) is not long enough for a 4.10-inch stroke. You need after market sleeves and there is no reason for using it. you have boost-the power output will be determined by the turbo selection.

      yes-you need ring gap and injectors and pump and tune (cam and springs would make it a lot better)

      ​@@richardholdener1727,I had found out what's wrong with my 06 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3 L59 engine,it had a bad TPS sensor and the vapor canister purge solenoid was bad also,it's needs alot of maintenance and has been neglected for a while,but I'm not upset at the previous owner because he hasn't dog the truck out at all(20+years of good service,original engine)an I also got a great deal on the the truck,but my mechanic said it's the lifters causing the misfire an it's on the odd number side I believe it's cylinder #3,because the check engine light is flashing an sometimes it's solid,so it's cutting on and off the power,so my mechanic and I are pulling the engine,I'm putting a new timing chain,valve springs,stage 2 cam,I'm taking the 706 heads to a machine shop,new oil pump pretty much a whole new drivetrain I was wondering about those bearings but it sounds like the lifters is about to collapse, but it still has alot of power and speed

      @@richardholdener1727 yes sir I jumped the gun I herd you say it toward the end I’m running the v3 but supercharger rebuilds does upgrades for 1000$ to the T trim so this helped my decision so thank you and God bless.

    Gen4 4.8 799 heads, BTR cam, Torqstorm SC, Term X, all the bolt ons.... made 444hp to the wheels on 11psi.... WTF! im disappointment

      Not that bad imo. His heads were ported. Maybe volume difference between blowers. He has ideal conditions too.
