Took 4 decades for kinnikuman to get a lore accurate release in the west
Yeah I'm watching the newly subbed episodes for the Toei anime & I'm surprised how many changes they are to the lore. I originally saw the eps raw so seeing a different backstory for Neptuneman with actual subs provided the context I needed. Plus, the whole Bibimba & Mari situation really screwed things up.

유데 타마고가 원하는 방식으로, 애니 방영시간을 띄워서 방영했는데 그 때문에 오리지널형식으로 애니에서 스토리가 변형된게 많았음. 더군다나 코믹스는 15세 이상 남성들이 수요층이라고 생각하고 그려서 잔인한 장면이 많았음. Tv판은 일본 전 국민층이 볼수있게 연령층을 낮추어야하니, 잔인한 장면을 순화해서 등장시키는게 많았고 아이들도 이해하기 쉬운 방향으로 만들어야 했음.
그 결과 영웅에게 히로인이 반드시 필요하다는게 과거의 인식이어서, 늦게 등장하는 비빔바보다 지구에서 빨리 등장하는 여성인 마리가 히로인이 된 것.
It's been a journey since 2019 to see this series come back to the screen, thank you for keeping the hype alive man.
You're welcome. It's something that initially didn't hold my interest but once I gave Kinnikuman a try the more and more I loved it.
there is a lot of moments that i would like to see:
-Muscle Docking in team tag
-Camel Clutch
-The end of Robin Mask vs Mammoth Man
-When ataru almost do the muscle spark to kinnikuman phoenix
-The first time when kinnikuman did an special technique like furinkazam, kinniku driver or kinniku buster.
-The muscle spark.
I'm pretty sure Furinkazan will be in it due to the Kamehame trailer. You mentioned a lot of the greatest moments of the series.
Muscle Docking, yes please!!! - however, they first need to introduce the Kinniku Driver a part and as a finishing technique, so the sum of Driver and Buster feel more compeling and the opponents should be utterly defeated after it, would be lame such a impactful technique going with 'no-sell' xD
Muscle Spark will propably go as a ''i'll have to use THAT to win'' moment and will be awesome 🔥
The part I'm most interested in seeing animated is Geronimo's revival under the Choujin gods. I don't think they'd actually show that much about his origins or how he was reborn, but I remember liking that part since it showed how strong his spirit was supposed to be.
Ah that would actually be a good sneak peek in redoing the scene with a bit more relation to the much later Choushin.
As a Kinnikuman fan since the early 2010s I'm pretty happy how things are happening with the new anime.
As for the recap episode I 100% sure we are going to see certain momments like Fu rin ka zan againts Jesse, the very first Kinniku buster and Kinniku driver, the muscle docking against the hell's missionary and of course 70million muscle spark (well this one was already confirmed...).
What I hope see is certain character momments that were miss in the og anime, like Terryman's victory againts Skull Bozu in the american tour arc, Ashuraman crying when he found out Satan Cross's true identity or a more faithful to the manga face flash on Bibimba during the scramble for the throne arc.
Yeah all the Bibimba scenes need to be established. I got into Kinnikuman around 2014 and I remember when the 2011 manga was still raw & it sounded mysterious & interesting.
A scene from the American Tour arc would be greatly appreciated. It's an underappreciated arc.
I understand why it missed the mark at the time, but it's a portion of the story that I think becomes more interesting upon revisiting.
Most importantly it featured a lot of Terryman during the 2nd half and since he is the first one to fight the Large Numbers it would be nice to get a feel for his relationship with Suguru.
A lot of vital things occur in American Tour and like you said it's very Terryman heavy. I daresay that's where their friendship really started more so when Terry lost his leg.

Yeah it got announced late 2023. The original teaser was just the title Terminator. Now we have an actual name for it along with footage.
I remember someone saying that, with this multiverse gig, it would be cool to have Kinnikuman Multiverse clash. You know, Kinnikuman Nisei, even Kinnikuman Lady for the heck of it. Like, tell me if that wouldn't be friggin' cool?
I'm expecting some kind of collision with Nisei to happen in this current Time Chojin Arc.

-Terry vs Mountain (original scene of how he managed to survive would be cool)
-If no camel clutch, Wars vs ramenman especially "that" moment
-Kinnikuman arm operation (actually now that we know buffaloman is part of the lineage of [Redacted] this might become important in the current arc again)
-Face flash in the zebra fight
-phoenix with the muscle prophecy, this one just because its funny compared to people nowadays saying in their current fav shonen "this char is the self insert of the author" or "this char writes itself", good ol phoenix stole the plot decades ago LOL.
-priest cosplay ataru
-muscle revenger

I was a bit disappoint that the Japanese writers weren't planning to do the reboot of Kinnikuman from the 80's because I always wanted to see the version especially the Scramble for the Throne Arc but I am willing to give this new anime series a chance but who knows maybe the writers will also be planning to do the sequel for Ultimate Muscle in the future. With the brand new Kinnikuman anime finally released I do think they should released the whole original Series in SBDS Blu-Ray as anniversary to celebrate.
The 1983 anime is in SD Blu-Ray in Japan & that's part of the reason why the new anime didn't reboot the series from the beginning. The Blu-rays are relatively new and the 40th anniversary of the 1983 was being celebrated in 2023. So the new anime would follow current Kinnikuman so it wouldn't interfere with Blu-ray sales but boost sales of the latest manga volumes. At least that's what I believe. I also feel Yudetamago & others wanted to reach new heights by animating one of their better written works. Although I do feel a smarter decision to get everyone onboard was to continue the Ultimate Muscle material that haven't been made into an anime.

I was exposed to Kinnikuman through Ultimate Muscle as well although I didn't like it at the time. I'm really anticipating the new anime which is only a few days away.

Yeah from the new games I'm interested in Sonic X Shadow Generations & MMPR Rita's Rewind. I also enjoyed seeing Bison's new design in SF6.
Theres one thing that worries me, actually several but im just going on a principal of a matter. Its how the la audiences even took to the first look of the anime, especially the recap episode. Kinnikuman had been censored before and theres still alot of prudes dictating what and how things get released. Just one look of that megumino hito scene and you can expect a huge detraction campaign.
I'm certain the anime staff know better by now with what is appropriate & what isn't. There's been some tweets about reruns of the 1983 anime & how some things are being edited out such as Brockenman's symbolism.
I've only ever seen Ultimate Muscle, but I've known since that original run that it was a sequel to a longer running series about the character I called "King Muscle" in his prime.
Never got around to actually watching Kinnikuman but I'll gladly watch this Perfect Origin series!
Please do! The new anime arc will convey its current writing & drawing style of duo mangaka Yudetamago. So you'll be seeing Kinnikuman in it's best possible state as the writer & artist of the series had 30+ years of experience instead of their high school debut. Even now those two friends are still working together & releasing new weekly chapters 45 years later since the original Kinnikuman.
For episode zero, I want to see any cool scene involving Kinnikuman Soldier, but my favorite is him saving a baby with the Napalm Stretch!
I kinda hope he gets a new voice instead of Shigeru Chiba. While I appreciate him in a non comedic role I still would like to hear Soldier with a different voice. I don't think they'll show it but I'd like to see the scene where Ataru defeats the real Kinnikuman Soldier.
@@THEAnimeHERO I really like his voice in the Scramble for the Throne anime, but I understand it must feel weird to listen to that VA doing a serious role. I just can't imagine a different voice for Ataru, though, but if the ever adapt the Omega Centurians arc, I would love to be pleasently surprised by his new voice. I doubt they would keep the old VA anyway, since they seem to be changing everyone.
I also would love to see the defeat of the original Soldier. I heard there's a suplementary material about that, but I've never found it!

I like Strong the Budos Voice actor but i feel like they couldve gotten someone else better suited for the large and layered character.
Don't worry about him. He's played by Akio Otsuka; his resume goes far. He can deliver the manly lines especially the later profound ones as The Man. @@THEAnimeHERO i watched Ultimate muscle in spanish growing up and I also had the gamecube game so I know a lot about it nisei.. a friend of mine got the fan made flash game "Muscle Fight" to work. That got me into looking at lore for the OG cast. After the 40th anniversary video came out i decided to read the kinnikuman manga from start to the a little bit after the 2nd new arc shown in the 40th anniversary video. anime wise there were busy subbing them at the time so I think i made it to warsman vs kinnikuman before the subs ran out

I don't think so. They're actually was a live action show about a meta drama about making a Kinnikuman live action. It was called Kinnikuman The Lost Legend.

It's supposed to be Netflix. While the creator of the Kinnikuman manga stated it be worldwide there's still hasn't been an official news from Netflix from other regions. Netflix Japan has confirmed their release. I'm just waiting for a news update.

So far yes. Course they still sell the ultimate muscle manga in some anime stores
The majority of the series has yet to be licensed despite having appropriate places to be available in. The Shonen Jump app would've been perfect for Kinnikuman even if it's only the Jump volumes 1-36. Ultimate Muscle (Kinnikuman Nisei) was printed once in the 2000's & never again. It's also crazy that the fansub for the 1983 anime started in 2009 & it's still being worked on in 2024. It's almost done. And during that period, no one has picked it up. This new 2024 anime is literally the only hope it has in getting anything else released.

If things go as Takashi Shimada is stating then there will be weekly releases for Kinnikuman. So far its confirmed weekly for Japan as it will actually air on tv first, then Netflix & other stations the following day.

Usually, when Netflix streams something worldwide (or many regions) there's multiple language options like Godzilla Minus 1 did. I'm assuming once a listing pops up on Netflix it should have a dub trailer. Given how things are treated nowadays I assume they would know better & dub this properly.
