- For 100 years, planes have been taking off and landing at an airport on the Westside. But after years of legal woes, the controversial airfield is scheduled to close down for good. In this episode of Look at This!, Desmond Shaw takes us to Santa Monica Airport.
Airport was there first. Yet all the people that moved in after think they have the right to get rid of it. Unbelievable.
100 years the airport has been there. Can any resident say the same? Doubtful. Which mean people knowingly moved next to an airport and then complained about it. There’s a word for that. Stupid. Let’s see how many of those complainers get to keep their homes after developers jack up the prices after the airport is gone.
Great report!
The airport has been there since 1917, people move in and then complain about the noise. I love the promise of turning it into open space by the city of Santa Monica. They cannot even control the parks and streets they have from already being encampments of human suffering. I bet they make a tiny park and then turn the rest into condos for investors to make Air-BNB profits!
Nah. Not “They cannot even control the parks and streets they have from already being encampments of human suffering.” /
I’d sure like to see the NIMBY’s get a taste of their own medicine when someone shuts down something they like. If they didn’t like the airfield, they should not have moved near it.
keep the airport man, developers wanna gobble the airfield up ... keep it do not touch it, we need it incase of an emergency
government will sacrifice American and Angeleno history for any bit of money... and regardless of the past, lets look into the future. there are fewer and fewer airports now, where are the future pilots going to train at?
WLAs Finest
You can see the LAX control tower from there.
Yes build more houses in already overcrowded Los Angeles parks yeah right
Probably million dollar homeless condos
Are you deaf it’s gonna be a park
It's amazing how quickly it was repaired and up & running, after being destroyed in the "2012" movie?! 🤣
